Stéphane (stephanej) | 23 comments Hi,

In the Librarian Manual it is written that we can change the page number only if you have the exact book with a matching ISBN.

I have a book with a page numbering wrong but when I want to edit it, the ISBN and the ISBN13 are not the same. My book is the same as the ISBN13. So should I update the page number or keep it that way ?

Thanks

Being more specific would help. What edition on Goodreads (link, please)? What ISBNs are on your edition?

Stéphane (stephanej) | 23 comments It's ok thanks I figured out. It just disturbed me because I thought ISBN13 was always the same as the ISBN except for the 3 numbers at the beginning.

But for my case the ISBN is 2290024821 and the ISBN13 is 9782290024829

One end with 1 and the other with 9 so I thought it was another edition or something else but it doesn't looks like it.

The check digit (final digit) of the ISBN10 and ISBN13 are usually not the same, actually. You can use one of several converters to be sure you have a pair. I like this one: http://pcn.loc.gov/isbncnvt.html

Stéphane (stephanej) | 23 comments Nice one, thanks for the tip!

It should be added in the useful links for librarian topic.
