I have many reviews that I have started cross-posting to other websites I own, either partially or in totality. I'm aware that having duplicate reviews on other sites will hurt my SEO and that the canonical meta tag can help mitigate this.
I am wondering if there is an accepted way to use the canonical meta tag in Goodreads reviews (is it accepted in the html?) or to otherwise skirt the fact that SEO on my other websites may be penalized. I have some ideas but realize that it may take me months and months to test this while having to fixate on my analytics results. I spoke with Goodreads support today and I was directed to this forum. Wondering if anyone has insight regarding how to take care of this in the code (I have a technical background--would appreciate any level of detail) or if you have personal experience with duplicating book reviews. I do backlink.
