Max | 1137 comments Tae leaving for the airport had been a little bit of a traumatic event for Jonas. He hadn’t thought he would miss Tae as much as he did. He tried to seem as supportive though and was probably just as excited as his boyfriend was about this dance competition. He seemed nervous about the plane ride, so Jonas made sure to try and be a calming energy before the flight. He had been on more flights that he could count, perk of being an actor. The next week felt like years and Jonas wasn’t sure he was going to be able to last the week without his boyfriend. Of course they FaceTime all the time and he called Tae whenever he was feeling lonely, but it wasn’t the same as having a person there. Plus Tae was unbelievably busy most of the time. The week dragged by unbelievably slowly And everything fell down and boring without Taeyun by his side.

Time skip

Jonas was exhausted, pretty much brain-dead and hungry from a long day, but he refused ‏To leave the dorm room until he came back. He’s never been more excited for something in his entire life. Waiting by the dorm room door like a puppy dog he shifted from foot to foot with excitement, unable to keep still. When he heard a knock it was less than a second before he pulled the door open and tackle-hugged Tae. His eyes were wide and shiny with excitement and he was totally all over Tae, disregarding the fact that his boyfriend was probably exhausted.

When Tae saw Jonas, his sleepy mind took a second to register what was happening before he was being fiercely hugged by his boyfriend. He’d tried not to think about it so much, to be grateful and have a good time in the city, but god had he missed Jonas.
He choked out a breath as Jonas squeezed him, pushing at his chest to get him off before he suffocated. Immediately after the contact was lost, though, Tae buried his face in the other’s chest and wrapped his arms tightly around his waist, his eyes shining with a little hint of tears. Everything had just been so overwhelming, and he was so happy to be home. “Missed you,” he murmured in heavily accented English with his face pressed against Jonas’s shirt (so it just sounded like a muffled noise).

When he’d finished hugging and kissing Jonas all over his face, he trudged inside, kicked off his shoes, and left his suitcase in the middle of the room before he flopped backwards onto his soft bed, sighing happily, his legs hanging off the side. “Jonas,” He called quietly, reaching for his boyfriend.

Max | 1137 comments “Sorry.” Joan’s mumbled, blushing madly when he realized that he had basically been suffocating Tae with his smothering hugs. He just couldn’t help it, he was so excited to be back to sleeping in the same room as Taeyun. While he had quite enjoyed a week with the room to himself and time for himself, he hadn’t slept as well alone in the room. Moving a little bit back to give Tae some space, he went back to shifting from one foot to the other, full of energy. He couldn’t wait to here about the competition and everything else about the week. He knew that Tae had never been able to travel much so it must have been exciting to go somewhere new. Despite the fact that they had been calling each other all the time, he was still eager to learn about the details of the trip. Taking another step back to keep balanced as Tae hugged him back, he smiled happily as he put his arms around the other boy. It just felt right to have Taevin his arms, it just felt natural, like it was meant to be. They fit perfectly together, jigsaw puzzle pieces.

Feeling like he was floating from all the kisses he had just recieved, Jonas practically flew over to the bed. Bouncing onto it like an excited puppy he grinned widely at Tae. If he had a tail, it would have been wagging wildly. Finally flipping down next to him, Jonas rolled over and planted a kiss on Tae’s cheek. He was feeling horribly cuddly.
“So, how was it? I want to hear everything.” He said excitedly, curling his legs up slightly onto the bed. He had to move a whole bunch of pillows around to fit on the bed.

Taeyun hopes Jonas wasn’t waking everyone else up at the crack of dawn with all his loud talking. But he didn’t have the heart to tell him to stop, he was so cute, and plus, Tae loved it. He himself was always so quiet and boring, and Jonas was literally like the sun.

Tae glanced sideways, opening his heavy eyes, when Jonas laid down next to him with a lot of fanfare. He scooted slightly closer to slide his foot around Jonas’s ankle, just to make sure he wouldn’t go. “M’ tired. Tomorrow,” he mumbled sleepily, closing his eyes and falling asleep immediately.

- time skip (till morning) -

Taeyun woke up and yawned, rubbing his eyes. That was probably the best he’d slept in a week (technically a week and two days, counting timezones). He sat up but didn’t go anywhere just yet, relieving in the feeling of Jonas beside him, their ankles still curled together from Tae’s actions last night.

message 155: by Max (new)

Max | 1137 comments Jonas was too excited to go to bed and he flopped around dramatically on the bed with disappointment when Tae decided to go to sleep. Sighing loudly, he pouted but didn’t complain when Tae curled his ankle together with his. He had missed just touching Tae’s shoulder when they went to get breakfast, or putting a hand around his waist when they lay down together. Now that Tae was back though, Jonas was desperate for even the smallest touch. He was feeling like a koala, knowing that he was being too clingy but unable to change how he felt. He was full of pent up energy and after Tae fell asleep, he snuck out of bed and did some homework until he was tired again. He knew that he should go back to his own bed and let Tae have some rest on his own but he didn’t want to be away from him for a whole other night. So instead he slid back into bed next to Tae and linked their ankles up again before falling asleep.

Jonas was still asleep when Tae woke up, he had always been the one who slept in later but when the bed shifted beneath them he slowly opened his eyes. When he remembered that Tae was there beside him, he immediately perked up.
“So how was!” He asked, regaining some of his puppy dog energy from last night. He wanted to know every little detail about the trip. He wanted to know it so well that he could pretend that he had been there too. Rolling over he peppered Taeyun with kisses, smiling radiantly while he did so.

Taeyun blinked slowly and yawned again, stretching his arms above his head.
He jumped a little bit, jolted awake, when Jonas decided to wake up with a loud exclamation. He’d expected his boyfriend to sleep later like he usually did, but he couldn’t complain.

“Mmm, Jonaaas, morning breath,” Taeyun whined, pushing his face away gently when he attacked him, before kissing him (what a hypocrite). Tae laid back down and made himself comfortable, facing Jonas with his head on the pillow and knees curled around a different pillow that he’d traded out for Jonas sometime in the night. “Okay.” He thought for a second about how he should start. “Um … Orlando is so huge. It’s … I don’t even know.” He sighed happily. “Beautiful, but also kind of scary. It’s so … industrial. And the buildings are soooo big.”

message 157: by Max (new)

Max | 1137 comments “Fine. Sorry.” Jonas backed off slightly, giving Tae a little more space. He wanted so smother him in kisses and hugs but he had to restrain himself from doing so. Instead he clutched a pillow tightly in his hands to take out all his cuddly aggression. For once he was glad for all the pillows Tae kept on his bed. Usually they were just all over the place and Jonas had a tendency to trip over them. But now he understood how comforting they could be. Laying back down he regarded Tae with bright eyes, happy that he was finally going to get to hear about the trip to Orlando. He had been there many times, along with being to Europe, Africa and pretty much every continent in the world. Had he been going to Orlando it wouldn’t have been nearly as exciting but because it was Taeyun, he was eo excited.
“Yeah it’s pretty big. Busy.” He agreed with a smile. He loved the business of the cities. It kept his high energy self busy but he only liked it when he could get away from it too since it got overwhelming sometimes.

“What about the competition?” He asked excitedly. He wanted to hear about the people. He knew that Tae didn’t get along well with everyone in his dance group so he wanted to make sure that they had been kind to him during the trip. If anyone had even said the slightest insult to Tae he would march down to their dorm and punch them in the face without a second thought. Jonas was in a cutthroat profession, he knew how mean people could be. But he would not let them be mean to Taeyun or they would regret it.

message 158: by quq (new)

quq (190511)
Taeyun nodded enthusiastically. “I really loved it.” He rolled over onto his back and stared at the ceiling dreamily. “I’d like to live in a big city one day.”

Tae’s mouth quirked into a half-frown when Jonas mentioned the competition and his dance team. “It was okay.” He shrugged. “It was hard. And I missed a step … so …” he trailed off with a heavy sigh.
He didn’t want to tell Jonas that everyone had been really quite mean. Except for his friend, that was. But everyone else … the competition …even most of his own team. They’d given him so much bull when he’d missed that one step. The judges hadn’t even been able to tell! So he didn’t want to go into too much detail. He knew Jonas would be mad, and he wanted to preserve as much happiness as he could.

message 159: by Max (new)

Max | 1137 comments Jonas looked at Tae with an interested sparkle in his eyes.
"Really?" He murmured softly. He hadn't thought that someone as quiet as Taeyun would like to live in the big city. It surprised him but also delighted him. Big cities meant adventures and good food and plenty of fun all the time. He wondered vaguely what it would be like to live with Tae in New York city or someplace big like that. It would be the perfect city for both of them to follow their artistic passions, although he wasn't sure if New York had good medical schools. Watching Tae with wide eyes he frowned in response to the way his boyfriend's expression dropped slightly.

He knew Tae well enough by now to know when he was unhappy, or something was on his mind.
"So? One step isn't the end of the world." He replied, already knowing where Tae's sentence was going before he trailed off. He knew that the dance troup Tae was part of was pretty serious. They weren't joking around or just doing it for fun. They were serious about winning competitions. Jonas admired their spirit and their hard work, but it also meant that they were very picky when someone made even the slightest mistake.
"Did they get mad at you?" He asked with a raised eyebrow, already planning in his head what to say to the team captain when he saw him next. As an artist himself, he knew that difference between criticism and constructive criticism. One was just mean and the other was helpful. He wasn't going to just let Tae's whole dance team be jerks to him over a simple mistake.

quq (190511)
“Yeah, I know.” He replied to Jonas’s remark about his missed step. “I didn’t mess up in the practice, though.” He shook his head against his pillow.
He had thought, after all that practice, it would somehow pay off. And they did win. But Taeyun felt like he’d lacked; he, as the center, wasn’t supposed to be the one who messed up. But he felt the rest of his group were the ones to bring them to the top. Therefore, in a way, he kind of deserved to be put down by them.
He’d try harder.

He glanced at Jonas before looking down and picking at his long, slightly chipped nails. “Yeah, but it wasn’t … unprecedented. And I’m different. I think that’s also why they pick on me so much.”
While his English had improved and his personality wasn’t that extreme, he couldn’t change his face or his eyes. And everyone else on his team was white and American (other than the one Japanese kid. But he’d grown up here.).

message 161: by Max (new)

Max | 1137 comments Jonas's expression was one of true concern. Tae seemed a little bit ruffled by the event but not horribly effected. Jonas didn't seem to care though that he seemed okay about it, someone had criticized his boyfriend and he wasn't going to just stand around and let them do that.
"Well sometimes things just go a little bit haywire" Jonas replied thoughtfully. He wasn't sure if Tae would understand what that meant but his english had been getting a lot better over the past few months so maybe he did. Jonas knew what it felt like to practice and practice and get it right every time and then mess up when it most mattered. It happened to everyone. In auditions, or tests or competitions. Even though it happened to everyone though it always felt horrible. Like no matter how much you practiced you still couldn't control everything. It was just a fact of life though, sometimes things go a little bit wrong and you just have to go with it. Anyways, it didn't sound like it had been a huge deal to the judges.

He hadn't even known that the group picking on Tae had been a real problem until now. He was seriously going to have to talk to the group leader about that, or just slap him, either way would work. Taeyun was different, he was sweeter than anyone Jonas had ever met and he understood things no other teenager ever could. Things about life and feelings.
"So, just cause you look different and act ten times smarter than them doesn't mean they have the right to pick on you." He said seriously, sitting up suddenly. He was torn between wanting to go now and tell the entire team off or staying with Taeyun for a little bit.
"They never like... hurt you right? Like they never physically bully you." He suddenly asked wide eyed. He didn't know how bad it was and he wanted to check in first.

message 162: by quq (new)

quq (190511)
“Yeah … ‘haywire’ means … crazy wrong?” Taeyun asked carefully, not wanting to be embarrassed by being wrong. English was such a hard language to learn.

Taeyun knew Jonas was a gentle person, but he also knew he would be angry if he knew what had happened. And Taeyun really, really didn’t want Jonas to be angry. He’d just gotten back and he wanted to … he wanted to have peace for the first time in a long time.
He also needed to unpack.
He rolled sideways and out of bed as Jonas continued to talk to him, rubbing his eyes and yawning softly. He huffed a laugh. “Ten times?”
He was walking into the bathroom when he heard Jonas’s question and froze, a hand on the doorframe. “Um … no.” He said, biting his bottom lip at the lie.

message 163: by Max (new)

Max | 1137 comments Jonas smiled brightly and nodded when Tae got the word right. His English was improving faster than Jonas thought possible. It seems like just weeks ago Tae had been stumbling over English words and now he sounded almost fluent. Because he always seemed so focused on his dancing, Jonas knew that Tae's marks were extraordinary but Taeyun really was very smart. That was easy to see with how he picked up the language so quickly. Jonas also thought that he might be learning so quickly because he had a boyfriend who basically talked non-stop. It was true that despite his need to be alone sometimes, Jonas had the tendency to talk a mile a minute. It sort of worked out though because Tae was so much more quiet.

Watching him roll off of the bed with more grace than should be allowed, Jonas propped up his chin with his hands and watched Tae move off to the bathroom. It was a serious conversation but he was still a little bit high on happiness of just having Taeyun back. Any excitement though dropped away at the look on his boyfriend's face. They had known each other long enough now to read the look on each others faces quite well. Plus, Jonas had always had a knack for knowing what other people were thinking about. Suddenly sitting up, he gave Tae a grave look.
"I can tell you're lying." He said softly, his usually comical brown eyes dark with anger. Not at Taeyun for lying, but at the people who were hurting him.
"Why didn't you tell me?" He asked.

message 164: by quq (new)

quq (190511)
Taeyun shook his head, not wanting to respond. He was being mean, and rude, and self-centered, but he really really really just wanted Jonas to be happy. And he wouldn’t be happy if he knew people had hurt Tae.
He wanted to hang onto the peace and happiness of last night, where he didn’t have to be worried or afraid or angry.
Tae’s mind always lingered in the past.

“I don’t want you to be angry,” he whispered, using the doorframe to steady himself. He hadn’t moved since Jonas had accused him of lying, and now his bottom lip was quivering, tears threatening to spill over his eyes. He disgusted himself. He was supposed to be strong, he was almost an adult, and he cried when his boyfriend asked him a question. Stupid.

message 165: by Max (new)

Max | 1137 comments “Taeyun.” Jonas couldn’t think of what else to say. But he hardly ever said his full name unless it was serious. Someone had been hurting his boyfriend, the sweetest most lovely person in the world, and he hadn’t known about it. He felt so guilty that he had never noticed. He knew that the dance kids weren’t exactly nice to him but he had always thought that they were just being hard on him so he could get better. Constructive criticism. He had never thought that they were actually hurting him mentally and physically. He should have noticed. If he were a good boyfriend, he would have noticed. But he hadn’t and now things sounded like they had gotten pretty bad. He still didn’t understand though why Tae hadn’t told him. Did he not trust him enough? The idea that Tae didn’t trust him was enough to make Jonas’s heart ache in his chest. He trusted Tae more than anyone else and it hurt that his boyfriend didn’t do the same. Staring at the ground, Jonas bit the inside of his cheek angrily.

“but they are hurting you.” He mumbled, looking back up again. He couldn’t stand the idea of someone hurting Taeyun. He noticed the faint glimmer of tears in Tae’s eyes and immediately he felt bad. He wasn’t angry at him, he was angry at the people who were hurting him.
“Hey, don’t cry...” he said softly. Getting off the bed he came up to Tae and brushed the back of his hand over Tae’s cheek.
“I’m not angry at you... I just hate that they’re hurting you.” He murmured as he brought his hand up from his cheek to push a stray piece of hair away.
“What did they do to you? I just want to know so I can help.” He said.

Taeyun blinked heavily, looking down at his feet. “I’m sorry.” He paused for a moment to collect his thoughts (they kept flying away into his own language). “I thought … they didn’t really do anything. Just a little bit every time. I didn’t think … it wasn’t enough to tell you about, because I knew that you’d be angry at them for me because you’re such a good boyfriend but I should have told you and I’m really sorry.” He said, rushed. “It got … really bad over the trip.” The last part he spoke was hushed, almost as if he didn’t want Jonas to hear.
He leaned his face into Jonas’s hand, closing his eyes and breathing deeply. “They …” He reached down absentmindedly to the bruise on his hip, invisible through his clothing. “When I fell. They’d get really mad … and hit me sometimes. It used to not hurt, but then they added their feet …” He felt his lip quiver again. “I don’t know how to, um, stop it without losing … my team.”

message 167: by Max (new)

Max | 1137 comments Jonas was angry for sure. Not even just angry, he was livid. His usually soft and bright face was dark and suddenly sharp. He had a very expressive. Part of the reason why he was such a good actor was because when he felt something, it showed up on his face in the most expressive ways. When he was happy he could light up a room with a wide white-toothed smile. When he was supposed to be sad on camera it was easy for him to conjure up tears to go streaking down his face, and when he was angry his entire face darkened and his eyes sparkled dangerously. His face was perfect for the camera. His mother had known it even when he was a baby and he had quickly learned how to use those abilities to his advantage.
"Taeyun you can't just let people walk all over you. When you need help you have to get it." He knew that he sounded forceful and bitter but he just wanted Tae to know that he could stand up for himself. He didn't have to just let people do what they wanted with him. Sighing as he forced out some of his anger he shook his head, resting his forehead against Tae's and closing his eyes.
"you don't have to be sorry. I should have known... I should have known something was wrong." He said guiltily. He knew that if he had really been a good boyfriend he would have noticed sooner.

Every explanation about what they did to him was like a punch in the stomach to Jonas. How had he not noticed? He wasn't just a horrible boyfriend, he was a horrible person for not noticing Taeyun's plights.
"Tae they aren't your team if they're hurting you like that." He said gently, drawing away to look at his boyfriend carefully. It was true though, there was only one serious dance group in BLA and Tae was already in it. There weren't any other places to go.
"I'm going to go talk to them."

Taeyun almost drew away at the look on Jonas’s face. He’d always known Jonas to have an easily read expression, and he thought it was adorable, but not now. Now it was scary and it kind of reminded him of his dad, before it all happened. He forced the image out of his mind and looked at Jonas instead, eyes flicking from Jonas’s left eye to his right eye methodically. Jonas’s eyes.
Without warning, Tae leaned in closely and tucked himself into Jonas’s arms, just wanting to be held. “I know. I’m sorry,” he mumbled, closing his eyes again. “It’s not your fault.”
Even if Jonas was mad, Tae knew he would take it out on himself, because he’d feel guilty. And Tae really didn’t want that, because it was his own fault, and not Jonas’s.
Taeyun shook his head. He knew the boys on his team were horrible, but he really had no other choice if he wanted to dance. That’s part of why he hadn’t really told anyone. “But where else … where else would I go? I need to get a scholarship with dancing, and I don’t know how else.”
He nodded at Jonas’s next statement and leaned into him again, sighing softly. “I’m sorry. I love you.”

message 169: by Max (new)

Max | 1137 comments He was a bit surprised when Tae wrapped his arms around his waist so suddenly. He was amazed that despite the anger and fire in his eyes, Taeyun still felt comfortable enough to come to him for comfort. After a slight pause, he carefully put his arms around Tae. Without even meaning to he began to rock from side to side a little bit, swaying on his feet. It seemed like a natural thing to do when comforting someone. When people were holding young children, they always seemed to rock back and forth. Jonas had never understood why, but now it just seemed like the right thing to do. He ran his fingers lightly down Tae's back in gentle circles.
"I-I should have known... I should have known something was wrong." He murmured into Tae's hair. Regardless of how much Taeyun tried to convince him otherwise, Jonas would still believe that it was his fault for not noticing it sooner. He was supposed to be good at knowing what other people were feeling, he was supposed to be empathetic and detail oriented, but all that seemed to have failed when one of the most important people in his life was suffering.

Shaking his head slightly, he kissed Tae lightly on the head.
"One day you're going to be at a competition and some judge is going to see how amazing you are, and then you won't have to work in a group. You'll be too good for them." He told Taeyun with a chuckle. He didn't feel nearly as light hearted though as he sounded. He was going to storm over to the next dance practice and scream his head off at all the kids in the dance group. The dance captain especially. It was going to take a lot of self control not to punch him in the face. He took a sharp intake of breath when Tae said those words. Not just any words, those words. Jonas loved Taeyun, he really did. But he was terrified of that level of commitment. He didn't know why he was so scared. Maybe it was because in the film industry, even marriages hardly seemed to last more than a year or two. Commitment never seemed to work out. He wanted to say it back to Tae, he really did but he just couldn't. It wasn't that he didn't feel the same way, he just wasn't ready to admit it.
"It's okay." He said instead, squeezing Taeyun a little bit tighter.

Taeyun closed his eyes as Jonas rocked him. The movement was comforting. It reminded him of nighttime songs and moonlight and that certain facewash with the homey smell.
Everything else just went away for a moment and he melted into Jonas’s hold, not thinking about his mom or his dad or his grandma or anything else that had happened in his unfortunate excuse of a life. Tae just listened to Jonas’s heart and was comforted, grounded by the steady beat.
He shook his head against Jonas’s chest when he said it was his fault. “Jonas, stop it.” He said, his eyes still closed. “I told you. It wasn’t even bad. You couldn’t have known, I didn’t want you to know. It’s okay.” He said each word slowly, trying to pronounce and use contractions and do all of that. He wished there was just one universal language. So everyone could communicate and share and love.
Tae let out a soft huff of a laugh, reaching down to hold Jonas’s hand even though he was still in his arms. He waited for Jonas to say it back. I love you. Taeyun loved Jonas. It wasn’t like he hadn’t said it before. A lot over FaceTime, when he realized how much it hurt to not be with him. He looked up, propping his chin on Jonas’s chest. “Jonas?”

message 171: by Max (new)

Max | 1137 comments Jonas buried his face into Tae's hair. Despite having never seen Taeyun take much care of his hair at all, it was always soft and somehow always smelled good. Taeyun always smelled good. Jonas could tell it was him without even having to have his eyes open. He smelled like sweet lemon soap and the smell of winter all at once. Inhaling slightly, he felt strands of hair tickling against his neck. But instead of pulling away, he just held onto Taeyun like he was a lifeline. He felt guilty for feeling comforted by Tae's presence. He didn't need any comfort. His life was amazing. He was famous, he had a mother who payed attention to him (more than he wanted actually) and a father who loved him. Not to mention that he had the perfect boyfriend. His life was amazing compared to Taeyun and yet he still sometimes just pressed himself into a hug with Tae because he needed the comfort, when really it was Tae who deserved all the comfort in the world. He didn't have a mother or a father or even a grandmother anymore, and he had a sorry excuse for a boyfriend. After all, Jonas hadn't even been able to tell that he was being hurt.
"It's not okay. They're hurting you." He murmured, finally drawing back a little bit to look the shorter boy in the eyes.

He pulled away even further when Tae looked up at him. With those eyes so full of trust and confusion. Jonas wanted to say it back, he really did, especially when those big eyes were staring up at him.
"I'm sorry." He finally spat out. That wasn't what he had wanted to say, he had wanted to say 'I love you' too, but he couldn't get it out. It was too much too fast. Love meant forever and Jonas just wasn't ready to make that promise because he knew that it wasn't true. So many people made those promises and it seemed like they always gave up on forever eventually. He didn't know what to tell Taeyun.
"It's nothing to do with you, and I really like you a lot... but I'm just not... I can't..." He trailed off again before squeezing his eyes shut. He sounded so stupid.

Taeyun finally got it. Jonas was pushing him away, he didn’t want to be with him anymore.
Celebrities did that a lot, didn’t they?
Jonas was probably blaming himself and saying he was a bad boyfriend so that Taeyun wouldn’t want to be with him anymore. It was sweet that he was trying to let him down easily. But it still wouldn’t work.
Taeyun would always want to be with Jonas.
His eyes flooded with hurt, eyebrow furrowed in an effort to keep the saltwater behind his lids.
“No, it’s okay. I … I get it.” He said, turning his back on Jonas and walking into the bathroom. “You could’ve just told me.” He said softly, almost not hearing himself.
He’d heard of this before. Ariana Grande had been engaged what, maybe three times? He bet she’d said “I love you” a million times. It didn’t have as much meaning as when Taeyun said it. It probably didn’t have meaning when Jonas said it, either.
He didn’t want to hear it anymore.
From someone who obviously didn’t love him.

message 173: by Max (new)

Max | 1137 comments Funny how Jonas was thinking one thing and Taeyun was hearing another. On the inside, Jonas was in agony. He did love Taeyun, at least he thought that he did. He had never been in love before so he didn't know if what he felt around Tae was love. But he was terrified that one day he would realize that it wasn't what he was feeling, that he wasn't in love. Then what would he do? He had bound himself in some way to Taeyun and then he realized that what he had said wasn't actually what he had meant. He wanted to be sure that he was in love but being in love also scared him more than anything else he had ever experienced. Tae was the bravest person he had ever met to be able to admit that he was in love with such ease. Jonas was in awe of him for that. But even though he was scared about being in love, he didn't want to break up with Taeyun. He didn't realize at all though that that's what Tae was thinking about.
"I couldn't tell you... I just need time..." He said with a catch in his voice.

Taeyun looked so heartbroken, but Jonas just thought that he looked that way because he had refused to say "I love you" back, not because he thought that they were breaking up.
"Please Tae.... it's just too fast." He knew that it would be better to just let Tae walk away and be on his own for a little bit, but he felt so bad. He really was a horrible boyfriend. All he did was hurt the person he truly loved because he was a coward.

Taeyun didn’t really understand why Jonas was doing this to him. He’d always acted so kind, so loving towards Tae.
Taeyun hadn’t done anything wrong, had he?
He combed through the moments in his head, searching for the one where he’d gone wrong. And he found it.
He had victimized himself, so much. Everything was about his pain, his grandma, his parents, his bullying issues, his trip. He’d never taken enough time to talk to Jonas about what he was feeling. Tae was always so self-centered, he realized.
“Jonas?” He turned around as he was about to go into the bathroom. It was almost hard to say his name. How long, Tae wondered, had he felt that way?
“Don’t force it on yourself.” He swallowed hard, blinking back tears, and closed the bathroom door in front of him, his hands sliding down the knob sadly.

Max | 1137 comments Taking another step towards him, Jonas made a slight gesture as though he were about to grab Tae's arm to stop him from walking away. But he thought better of it and let his hand drop uselessly back to his side. Taeyun probably didn't want to talk to him. After all, he was the perfect one in the relationship. He was kind and thoughtful and just amazing and he deserved so much better than Jonas. He deserved so much better than someone who was too afraid to even just say "I love you" to the person he really did love.
"I..." He trailed off sadly as the door closed in his face. He remembered so well the moment when Tae had locked himself in the bathroom after his grandmother had died. Jonas had felt so helpless, and that was what he felt now too. After a moment of staring at the door, he shoved his hands into his pockets and after another second of hesitation, slouched out of the room. Tae probably didn't want to see him right now.

He had been so excited for Tae to come back. The happiness that he had felt in his heart had been so exciting that he thought that his heart was going to explode. He hadn't thought for one second that he would end their reunion in a fight. Tae hadn't really said it, but Jonas assumed that he might want to break up. It was all Jonas's fault anyways, he was the one who had brought up the dance kids. If he hadn't brought that up then none of this would have happened.

((Should we timeskip? Like they don't talk to each other for a while?))

{sure, i’ll go ahead}

- time skip -

It had been almost a full week since Taeyun had last talked to Jonas. He’d waved in the hallways, but he waved to everyone he knew. He didn’t want to talk to Jonas. He really didn’t. It would just make him more upset.

He wished they hadn’t even started this. Then everything would be normal. Maybe.
He’d finally thought there was a place he belonged, in Jonas’s arms. Obviously they were just made of plastic.
Tae had been so excited to see Jonas after his trip.
Why’d it all have to end that way?

Tae was spending the nights at home with Alice and Mark and Bella. They didn’t ask why. Tae loved them for it.
He had trouble sleeping without Jonas’s soft breaths in the room with him.
But it was alright. He was doing fine in school and he hadn’t quit the dance team. He just left practice early and arrived early so they didn’t have a chance to hurt him.
He cried sometimes, but that was just part of a break up. He’d heard about high school dating in movies and books, but he’d never thought this kind of thing would happen to him, where he got so hung up on someone that when they left he felt rent apart from the inside out.
Truth was, he missed Jonas.

message 177: by Max (new)

Max | 1137 comments A week had already gone by, and Jonas didn't feel any better this Friday that he had the last time he had spoken to Taeyun. Everyone said that over time, heartbreak healed but it just seemed to get worse every single day. Tae had obviously been sleeping at his house because Jonas had come back to an empty room every day. Things on Tae's side of the room moved occasionally, but other than a few times in the halls, Jonas hadn't seen his ex-boyfriend in a week. He hadn't realized how much he had gotten used to constantly seeing Taeyun until now. It seemed strange not to see him now. It felt like there was something missing in the view every time he walked into the room and Taeyun wasn't their. He missed sitting together and watching stupid movies. Just them and Tae's piles of pillows and maybe hot chocolate on cold days. There were so many romantic things that Jonas still wanted to do for Tae and now he felt like he was never going to get the chance.

Wandering down the hall, Jonas gave one of his friends a bright smile as they passed.
"Hey man." He said with a grin. They fist bumped and then paused in the hall to chat absentmindedly about school. Despite his heartbreak, he still smiled at his friends, and even just at strangers. No one would know the difference. Actually, one person would know the difference, but that was Taeyun. After saying his goodbyes he ran his hands through his hair and went back to his dorm room.

When he walked in, nothing seemed different. Except for the fact that Taeyun was in the room. Freezing up at the doorway, Jonas stared uncertainly at Tae's back. He was obviously just picking something up or something because he was turned away from the door looking at something.
"Uhm. Hi." Jonas winced. He sounded horrible, like he had never spoken to another boy before.

((I just thought that putting them back into their dorm would be a good idea for this scenario if that's alright.))

{that’s fine}

Taeyun had just been here to get all of his notes. Every week he realized he’d left something here, a special pillow he couldn’t sleep without or his math textbook. It was hard. It was like he’d left his whole heart here with Jonas and kept forgetting he even used to have one.

This time it had been his dance notes. He hadn’t danced in a few days. Quite frankly, dancing wasn’t even that fun anymore. All he had memories of were him and Jonas falling and laughing and kissing and he knew that wouldn’t do him any good. He skipped practices sometimes. Didn’t even flinch when they hit him anymore.

Taeyun hadnt expected Jonas to be here.
He gripped his notebook tightly, turning around and biting his lip, looking down at the floor. “Jonas,” he greeted, but it was more of an empty, meaningless word than anything.

message 179: by Max (new)

Max | 1137 comments "What-What are you doing here?" Jonas winced again as he asked that idiotic question. It was Tae's dorm just as much as it was his, there was no reason why he shouldn't be here. The only reason why Taeyun had been the one to basically move out was because his family lived in the same area. It had sort of been an unspoken decision. He had just packed up some of his stuff and left. Soon after they had gotten into a relatively normal routine of not seeing each other. It was easy to tell that they were both visiting the dorms, but they never saw each other. Jonas was okay with that. He didn't want to see Taeyun, he knew that it would break his heart more than it already was.

He was angry at himself for not being able to tell Tae that he loved him. None of this would have happened if he had just said those three words. But he couldn't. He was also angry at Taeyun though, for breaking up with him. For walking away just like that. He knew that he had broken Tae's heart, but he was still bitter about it. He hadn't wanted to break up, he had just needed a little more time.

"Sorry. That was stupid." He apologized in a soft tone. He might be angry but he still didn't want to hurt the other boy, he loved him too much for that. Even though he was angry with Taeyun for breaking up with him, he still wished him all the best. With his dancing, with his family, with his life, with his happiness.
"I'm sorry that it had to end this way." He said softly, coming to sit down on his bed. It had remained unmade for the past week. A reminder of the turmoil in his head spilling out into his every day life.

Stretching his legs out, he looked at Tae more intently than he should have. He just couldn't way. He needed to look at the boy he had let go. He knew that he could have had Tae for so much longer. He knew that Taeyun loved him, but he had been too afraid to love him back.

Taeyun’s eyebrows furrowed at Jonas’s question. “Getting my notebook,” he replied, his words forcedly calm. Taeyun was actually losing his mind, being this close to Jonas and not kissing or hugging him. That was why he’d avoided him for so long, so that he wouldn’t miss him as much. It had backfired severely.

“It was,” he replied coldly to Jonas’s statement. If staying away wasn’t going to work, he’d just have to make himself hate Jonas.
That wasn’t possible.
If Jonas didn’t want him, what in the world was Tae supposed to do?

Taeyun’s hand clenched tightly around the binding of his notebook, the ridges in the plastic digging into his palm. He hadn’t expected Jonas’s next words, that it didn’t have to end like that. Didn’t have to end like what? If Jonas didn’t like Taeyun, a breakup was inevitable.
And he just couldn’t anymore. With those words, his thin levee broke and all his feelings came rushing back in. His arms itched to wrap around Jonas’s body, snuggle into his warmth, but he hugged his own waist instead, almost cutting off his breath. He inhaled shakily and looked down, his false calm shattered.
“Jonas, do you still love me? Because I love you.”

message 181: by Max (new)

Max | 1137 comments Jonas felt his heart constrict unhappily when Taeyun gave him the cold shoulder. Maybe he had been wrong. Maybe Tae wasn't as upset about the breakup as Jonas had thought he would be. Maybe he hadn't been as in love as either of them had thought. He seemed to be taking this all very well. No matter how hard Jonas stared at him, he still looked cold and calm as though this entire conversation didn't matter to him. Jonas was used to Tae wearing his emotions on his sleeve so he didn't even think for a moment that Tae might be faking his cold demeanor. Sitting up against the wall on the side of his bed, he curled his knees up so that they were clenched up to his chest. This was torture for him because he knew that it was his fault. They would still be a happy couple if he had just had the guts to say 'I love you' back. But now he couldn't help but wonder if Tae had even loved him in the first place. He had been so quick to say those special three words that Jonas wouldn't be surprised if he just threw those words around carelessly. That would explain why he was acting so far-away and cold, maybe he had never cared at all. So many maybes.

But suddenly all the cold fell away like ice shattering and Jonas saw the boy he knew underneath it all. The sensitive, kind and careful boy that he had fallen in love with. A little flutter of hope sparked in his stomach. Maybe all wasn't lost, maybe he could fix this. It seemed that Tae was still in love with him, so all he had to do was say that he loved him too and they could be together again.
"I -" Jonas paused and licked his lips nervously. By saying this, he was saying that he wanted to be with Taeyun, that he would be faithful and cherish him. That's exactly what he wanted to do though.
"I love you too. I always will." He said softly, arms clenched tightly around his knees as he looked up at Tae with doe-brown eyes.

Taeyun had known it wasn’t going to work.
From the very start, it had been so hard to ignore Jonas, to go without seeing him for even a few hours. He had grown to depend so much on his care and love, and it was like his roots were chopped off when Jonas broke up with him. His whole tree fell. And though he could try to keep it up with ropes and tape, it would all break in the end. And he’d come running back to Jonas.
He’d known it would happen.
But he didn’t expect Jonas’s tree to fall too.

He could see the heartbreak in his ex’s face when he brought his knees up to his chest. Maybe it had been a misunderstanding. Taeyun was grasping at straws, but it was better than falling into the abyss.

Tae watched Jonas’s face carefully, his mouth in a sad frown and his eyes half-lidded with tiredness and hurt.
He wasn’t going to say it.
And then he did. And Taeyun’s whole face lit up, his mouth curving up into a small smile and his eyes crinkling at the edges with happiness.
Jonas loved him after all.
Taeyun dropped his notebook and ran the few steps to Jonas, launching himself into the other’s arms and wrapping tightly around him, holding on like a koala. He didn’t intend to let go anytime soon.

Max | 1137 comments It was like breaking out of a locked room, that's what it felt like. As though he had been trapped for his entire life and for the firs time he had broken through the lock and was stumbling out into the sunlight for the first time. The feeling was amazing but it was also terrifying. Jonas could feel his heart thudding wildly in his chest. He had just said it, he had said 'I love you' back. There was sunlight in his chest that was making him glow like the morning sky itself. That's how happy he felt, as though he truly was glowing. But he was scared too because what he had just said meant commitment. But it was commitment to someone he truly loved, so maybe it would be okay in the end. For once, Jonas realized that he couldn't know the outcome of this relationship. He couldn't see into the future and see where they would be in 20 years, but he had to take a leap of faith anyways. Because it would have been worse to miss this happiness because of his cowardliness than to be sad when it ended. if it ended. It didn't have to.

If Taeyun thought that Jonas hadn't been hurt by the breakup, he was wrong. Jonas had never felt worse in his life. It was like he was falling and the person he had relied on to catch him was walking away. Even worse than that, it was his fault that he was walking away in the first place. Ever since he had left for BLA, he had always been afraid of what had happened back at home happening again. That feeling when he couldn't breath and everything just hurt him and he wanted to scream so loud that no one would ever dare talk to him again. When Tae was with him though, he stopped being afraid of that. Because he knew that Taeyun would save him if that happened again.

Gasping in a shocked breath when Tae launched into his arms, Jonas grinned happily and buried his face into Tae's hair. He missed Taeyun's smell so much.
"I can't... I can't breath." He told his boyfriend with another gasping breath. His ribs were being squeezed so hard that it felt like he was wearing a corset. But he didn't mind, because it was just Tae wrapping him up in his arms.
"I'm sorry. I love you, I do. I'm sorry." He repeated softly, running his hands through Tae's soft hair.

Instead of letting go, Taeyun just held Jonas tighter, burying his face in the crook of his boyfriend’s neck and breathing in deeply. “Too bad,” he murmured, his words muffled. He could feel Jonas’s inhalations against his own chest, so he knew he wasn’t really being smothered.

Taeyun’s eyes opened when Jonas mentioned being sorry. What was he sorry for? If he loved Taeyun, why hadn’t he said it?
Maybe Tae had been angry for no reason. Maybe it was just a misunderstanding.
“Jonas?” Taeyun pulled away slightly, still basically sitting on him, but giving him some room to breathe. “What … what happened?”

message 185: by Max (new)

Max | 1137 comments Jonas smiled softly at Tae's stubborn insistence not to let go of him. The feeling of Taeyun's arms around him was better than anything. Even though he couldn't breath, he didn't want Taeyun to let go. He was too much in love to worry whether or not he could breath anymore. Instead he just took in shallow breaths of air, inhaling the fresh smell that Tae always brought with him. Jonas was an introvert, but he enjoyed being social too. He loved to talk to people and he loved parties and other things, and he had never felt more lonely than those days without his boyfriend. It had been like a piece of his life had just vanished into a black hole, and that black hole had been tugging the rest of his life down with it. If Jonas was the sun, Taeyun was the night sky to him. Calm and beautiful, it does not burn or hurt the eyes. It is simply elegant and tranquil and so much better than the hurting sun. Because the stars and the moon are there when nothing else seems right, when you're scared in the dark, they are the light that guides you. Without Taeyun, Jonas was lost.

He let out a little sigh when he felt cool air against him when Tae moved away. He looked so puzzled and so earnest, it broke Jonas's heart all over again. Knowing that he had hurt this boy was horrible.
"I was scared..." He paused and leaned over to kiss Tae on the nose.
"Because saying 'I love you' meant responsibility." He then kissed Tae on the jaw.
"But i'm not scared anymore." He finally said, kissing Taeyun on the lips.
"It just... moved too fast for me. I need time." He chuckled softly and blushed.
"Just be gentle with me okay? I've never been in love before. It's scary."

{sorry I’ve been so inactive, there’s a lot of crappy stuff happening to me recently}

Taeyun scrunched up his face, closing his eyes as Jonas kissed him. He brought his hands up to hold Jonas’s face and kissed him once on the lips. “Why didn’t you say so?” He asked when he pulled away for a moment, the gap between them slowly starting to close. He was happy. Losing Jonas had been worse than his grandma, even his mom, because at least there was no way he could get them back. If he needed to, he could blame something else - the sickness, his father. With Jonas, there was no way out. It had been his fault and nothing else. And knowing Jonas was still walking around, and that Taeyun had a choice about it, was just so awful.
He was happy now, though.

Taeyun giggled when Jonas mentioned love being scary. “Love is scary? Do I scare you?”

Max | 1137 comments ((It's okay. I hope that everything is getting better. Sorry for taking so long too))

Jonas couldn't take his hands off of Tae. Not even in a promiscuous manner, he just didn't want to let go of him ever again. He had spent a whole week without touching Tae and now he refused to let go of him. Feeling Taeyun's lips on his made him feel like he was in heaven.
"I dunno. It felt stupid." He admitted, blushing sheepishly. He still felt like a coward for his inability to just say how he felt. He knew that in this day and age, it was totally alright for men to say how they were feeling. Often it was looked down upon for boys to talk about their emotions, but as time passed the world was getting more accepting about it. But for some reason that hadn't really clicked with Jonas, he was still stuck in the world where 'boys don't cry'. So it had felt wrong to tell Tae that he loved him, that was such an intense feeling and then it had felt even worse to tell Tae how afraid he was feeling. He wasn't allowed to be afraid.

All week, the weather had been perfect. Sunny and warm, but Jonas had been too sad to notice it. Students walked around practically glowing from the time they spent outside. After relatively cold temperatures, most students and teachers had been enjoying the great weather. Now though, Jonas could hear the pitter-patter of rain against their window. It started softly, the hushed drum against the glass before it got stronger and stronger. Until the only thing he could hear was the sound of rain and Tae's adorable giggles. Some people didn't like the rain, and while Jonas didn't usually enjoy it, today it felt special. Like the world had been holding it's breath just for them to get back together and now it was letting it all go.
"You terrify me." He said with a grin over the sound of the rain.
"Because the scariest thing I can think of in the entire world is losing you." He added, suddenly serious. He was in a strange between of wanting to be serious and just wanting to be happy. Eventually the happy won out and he pulled away the curtain from the window.
"Can we go dance in the rain?"

Taeyun tilted his head slightly. “It felt stupid? Love isn’t stupid.” He kissed Jonas again softly. “Love is the whole point of life, you know?”

Taeyun glanced out the window for a moment, watching the rain fall. There was something so peaceful, so nice about rain. It was trustworthy and beautiful and you could always tell when it was going to leave. Even when it did leave, it would always come back. Taeyun didn’t like sunlight that much, even though Jonas reminded him of it. He liked the rain and the fog and the cloudy days that everyone complained about and no one took enough time to appreciate.

He looked back to Jonas, his eyes crinkling in another smile. “I’m not afraid. You won’t lose me if I don’t lose you.”
And he could have taken it personally, but he knew Jonas didn’t mean it that way this time.

Taeyun watched as Jonas pulled away the curtain that was always blocking the sunlight. He realized that maybe after his mom died, he’d just stopped seeing the beauty in things. Everything was made to hurt him.
It was different, now.
He wanted to be happy for once. With Jonas.

Tae stood up and nodded, his smile soft and sweet as he snuggled into Jonas’s side and held onto his hand tightly. He started walking towards the door, tugging Jonas’s hand to get him to go with him.
Tae had never danced in the rain.

message 189: by Max (new)

Max | 1137 comments "Well you're braver than me." Jonas replied affectionately, looking up at Taeyun with a twinkle in his eye before he went and slipped on some shoes. He would probably take his shoes off when he got outside, the only thing better than dancing in the rain, was dancing in the rain barefoot. It was something he had done a lot as a child. Whenever it started to drizzle (it didn't rain too often) he would sit by the window and wait for the rain to start really pounding. Then, before his mom could notice, he would slip out in just shorts or something and twirl around in the rain. It wasn't really dancing, since he couldn't really dance but it was just some sort of release. Nothing else mattered when you were in the rain, with thunder rolling about you and the streets totally empty. He used to always catch colds from being out in the rain and his mother used to so angry at him. But he still did it anyway.

As he had gotten older, he had stopped doing it so much. His mother told him that it wasn't dignified for someone his age and with the whole film world watching him, Jonas could be nothing but perfect and dignified. He hadn't danced in the rain in years, but with Tae coming with him, he let all his inhibitions go.

"Let's go!" He said eagerly, pulling Taeyun behind him. He suddenly felt childish excitement bubble up inside of him and he walked a little bit faster until he was almost jogging down the stairs to the door. Throwing the door open with the hand that wasn't holding Taeyun's, he strode out into the rain. It was seriously coming down in sheets now but luckily the rain was warm. That's the best kind of rain. After just a few seconds of being outside, he was already soaked to the bone. His dark hair was plastered to his face and his clothing stuck to him like a second skin. That's how hard it was raining.

He turned to Taeyun with the biggest smile and spun out towards the center of the courtyard that lay between the dorm rooms. It wasn't thundering yet, but Jonas wouldn't be surprised if it turned into a real storm.
"Come dance with me!" He shouted out, closing his eyes and tilting his head up to the sky.

Taeyun didn’t even bother to put on shoes. They’d just get soaked anyways, and he loved bare feet.
He loved rain and cloudy days, but he’d never thought about being outside in it. He loved the way it made the house feel - like it was safe and everything else was hostile. Nice and cozy.
He’d never thought about venturing out into that same hostility that he’d feared from his mom’s bedroom window for so many years.

Taeyun let out a startled laugh when Jonas pulled him out the door. He watched the other’s earnest face, taking in everything, the beauty and the kindness and the love. He didn’t step out from under the awning yet, releasing Jonas’s hand as he stepped out into the rain. Instead of watching the rain, he watched Jonas’s face and hair as the rain painted him. Tae glanced up at the dark, beautiful sky and slowly stepped out into the rain, closing his eyes as the droplets ran down his face and dripped from his hair.
He couldn’t wait for the thunder.

Tae glanced back down at Jonas when he called out, a smile making its way onto his face. He ran towards Jonas and claimed his hand, joining his spinning routine. It was chaotic and messy and uncoordinated and wonderful, but for the first time, Tae loved it.

Max | 1137 comments Jonas laughed loudly, his voice only just overcoming the loud noises of the rain. Water droplets streamed down the sky, sparkling like little tiny gems in the faint light emitting from the school. The glass windows were streaked with water and the awning dripped off in a waterfall. To most other people it might have seemed like a miserable night. Dark clouds blocking out the sky and everything was grey, but it was important to be able to see the silver lining. The rain was warm and it basically felt like getting a shower but natural and prettier. That's how Jonas saw it, natural freedom.

Spreading his arms out, Jonas bared his face to the sky once more, as though daring the rain to make a flood and just take him away from here. Not that he didn't like it here, well, he didn't, but Tae was here so that was okay. But a part of Jonas had always yearned for adventure, and nothing spelled out adventure more than a flood. For now though, he contented himself with just standing in the rain and having the person he loved warm in his arms.

Twirling around with Taeyun he grinned wildly, stumbling around like an idiot but feeling like the king of the world. Spinning Taeyun into his chest, he stopped there. Their lips were just centimeters apart and he froze there, breath heavy from spinning and dancing so excitedly.
"You are so beautiful." He said before leaning in and kissing Tae like it was the last time they would ever kiss. Like he was trying to imprint the memory of Tae's lips on his for all eternity. Of course, he hoped for many kisses in the future but he wanted to feel like every single kiss was worth the attention of a final kiss.

Right then, a rolling sound, soft at first sounded across the sky. It seemed to grow until the entire sky seemed to be growling. Thunder clapped above them and when Jonas opened his eyes he saw another flash of lighting light up the sky. It lit up Tae's features even more than before and Jonas found himself getting lost in the other boy's sparkling eyes.

Rain was so beautiful. To Tae, it didn’t matter if it was near a landfill or in a beautiful valley - rain was just one of his favorite things. It made everything seem so serene, so peaceful.

Tae tripped more than once into puddles of rainwater, splashing it up onto the hem of his pants. The feeling was uncomfortable, so he twirled over to a puddle and stepped into it to make the wet-against-dry feeling go away. And of course, when he tried to spin again, he tripped and fell face-first into the puddle, laughing. He didn’t feel so sad anymore.
Maybe life could give him another chance.

He pulled himself off the ground, wiping his face off with a wet shirtsleeve (which, of course, didn’t work too well). He started spinning again - recklessly abandoning his balance, swaying on his feet. He froze when Jonas pulled him in.
Tae’s eyes opened, mouth forming a small o as he watched the water drip down Jonas’s face, catching on his eyelashes and falling down to his lips. He was so overcome in the moment, with love. He honestly wanted to stay with Jonas forever.
He blushed softly, glancing down, a small smile on his face at Jonas’s comment. Tae reunited his gaze with Jonas’s, moving his fingertips up to trace his lips gently. “I really love you.” He whispered, the intense surge of emotion suddenly making him feel like crying, making it hard to swallow. His eyebrows furrowed and he leaned in, catching Jonas’s lips in his own. He kissed him with as much love as he could, wrapping his arms around Jonas’s neck and pulling him closer.

Tae pulled away slowly, staring at Jonas’s face even as thunder crashed across the sky. “Please,” Taeyun whispered, his fingers sliding down Jonas’s chest to make sure he didn’t go anywhere. “Don’t ever leave me.”

Jonas was filled with the kind of joy that couldn't be replaced or faked. He was filled with the kind of joy where you wish you could take a snapshot of the moment forever and just save it in your mind for the days where nothing felt right. It was the type of joy that fills your chest until you feel like the happiness might just come pouring out of your mouth and eyes. He was so in love and he couldn't stop it. Jonas didn't know if in 10 years he would still be with Taeyun. He didn't know where Tae's life would lead him, and he would never stop being afraid that one day Tae would figure out that there were better people in this world to love. He didn't know if maybe they would grow old together and tell their kids about that night in the rain, or if this was just fleeting teenage love. But whatever it was, in that moment, Jonas wanted it to last forever. He wanted to stay here in the rain until the water had soaked through his skin and the world was scrubbed clean by the storm.

His breath caught slightly as Tae traced a finger over his lips, he felt wanted . No one had ever looked at him the way Taeyun did. Even his mother looked at him with the offhanded glances of someone who had more important things to do. Movie producers looked at him as critics, finding what was wrong with his face or body or skills. But Tae, Tae looked at him like they had all the time in the world. Like they would never grow old and had the time to spare to just look at each other. He made him feel special. Jonas felt like if he died tomorrow, he would still live on in the beautiful memories of this boy standing in front of him.

Feelings Taeyun's hand on his chest, he took his hand and caught the boy's fingers in his, intertwining them together.
"I will never leave you. You're the love of my life." He answered honestly, and he meant it. Sure, he didn't know what their futures looked like but in that moment he meant it. He had never loved anyone as much as he loved Taeyun. He loved him so much that it was dangerous. He would do anything for this boy, anything.

{oh, sorry about that :(

sorry my response took so long & is so short }

Taeyun didn’t know - he didn’t know if this was love, if this wonderful feeling was what it felt like to finally fall in love. And call him stupid, but he already knew. He already wanted to stay with Jonas for the rest of his life.
Even if it lasted only a week longer, Tae didn’t care. He would put his whole heart in this boy’s hands to hold, because he trusted him not to break it in half.
He could feel Jonas’s heart beat underneath his palm, everything going away except for the steady thumping of Jonas’s heart. Logically, Tae knew it only meant blood was flowing through his body, but he loved to think of it as plain old affection in a primal way.
The rain was so peaceful.

He squeezed Jonas’s hand tightly when he said those words - “you’re the love of my life.”

Tae closed his eyes, blinking some of the raindrops out of his lashes. “I’m glad you dragged me out here,” he said softly.
