Military hero abducts heroine, possible case of plagiarism

A contemporary romance where the main hero is a military man who suffers from PTSD. While on leave he snaps and abducts the heroine. During her captivity she sees through his illness and falls in love with him.

I'm more concerned that this story may have been plagiarized. It was just discovered that author Sam Taylor Mullens plagiarized a book from author Rachel Ann Nunes. Rachel had written a book called A Bid for Love and Mullen's stole the story and planned on republishing it this August as The Auction Deal, only adding sexual content.

Since Mullen's plagiarized Nune's book, it has cast doubt on her previously published books. If you know of any books with a similar plot, please list it below so we can determine if any other authors have been plagiarized.

Would it not be better, for cases like these, to open a separate group?
Even as a more or less silent newbie, I do not think, this has a place in this group, it feels misused.

Maybe there is even a policy somewhere in the Goodreads or Group guidelines, I do not know about?

But I am open to suggestions / discussion, how do others see this, e.g. the Moderators?
I may have more strong words for this, but want to see first, how others react.

Perhaps having a separate group would be a good idea (but, I don't want to start a whole new group just for this). This thread was fitting since we are trying to find other books with similar plots. Since this group is dedicated to looking for books based on people sharing plot info to find books, this felt like a good fit.

All I am looking for in this thread is book titles/authors that have similar plots. Anything else that comes of it would be handled separately. I'd be a little surprised if people were offended by this post, but if so then the moderators can take it down.

We are not trying to find other books with similar plots; we are trying to help people find specific books that they've forgotten the names of.

Miriam, I get that. I may not have a specific book in mind, and I hope that STM hasn't plagiarized anyone else, but if I were an author I would want to know if someone had stolen my book and republished it as their own. That's why I thought I'd list the plot on here and see if anyone has read books with similar plots and to see if there are any specific books we should look into. I honestly hope we won't find anything.

Except that we do that here too, this might be better suited to the 'requests:books in general' rather than unsolved folder since it's not a specific book but a plotline that the OP is looking for, but that is something people are ok to post a thread about. Unless all the threads in the books in general folder are against the spirit of the group?

I have a problem with the reason for looking for this, basically the OP wants to know if a writer has stolen the idea for a book. If true this will have consequences, probably even a trial.
Even if the opposite is true, and the writer proved to have done nothing wrong, there is money involved and it wastes our unpaid time for something I think one or both of the writers should pay a professional person for (a lawyer?).

As I said in my first post, it (this Group) feels misused. If it is the general consensus that this is ok, I can accept that. It would surprise me though.

Kathy, you don't even need to start a group to complain about plagiarism. You can start a book discussion about that particular book. I see that the book has a very low rating due to readers believing it has been plagiarized, here:

Maybe you can also contact the author you believe is plagiarizing directly, at her blog.

This group is not the right place to out plagiarizers.

Finding books with similar plots is not plagiarism. Hundreds of books have very similar plots; this doesn't mean they were all plagiarized. Plagiarism is the copying of text with either no changes, or minimal changes, the stealing of someone else's ideas and words.

I'm closing this thread because I don't think this is an appropriate use of this particular group.
