ABANDONED. Mystery 1975-1985 series different authors last chapter sealed

Looking for series of mystery books which had the last chapter sealed so the reader could guess the ending before reading it. They were paperback books and there were different authors. Though I think some authors wrote more than one. I read them sometime between 1975-1985, more likely 1979-1983.

If I remember right the main character was always female. I think some had a love interest, but that want the focus.

I think one they were in or had been in Aruba. Another I think the name included “stitch in”. I don’t remember how many there were but pretty sure it was more than 10.
