I read it a really long time ago and remember very little. But I've loved pretty much everything I've read by Powers.

I’m about a third of the way through this novel, and we have an European spy story with just a hint of the supernatural or fantastic in the first third. But then, the narrative takes off like a rocket. It’s well worth the wait if you do not like standard spy stuff.
