ABANDONED. Fantasy, 2008-2010, Part of Trilogy or series, about three kids who escape from their city but later come back to topple the government

Ok so I read this between 2008-2010 while in High school. The kids live in like a really strict city there is one girl and two boys I think they call one of them Pig or he has a nickname starting with Pig cause he's fat or something and at first they all just want to escape but they end up coming back to fight the city, I think its a trilogy. It did not take place on earth it was set in a fantasy world. I remember reading one part where they were flying on the back of an animal or there was like an airship or something.
