Actually, on second thought....for new members of the group - share your top three reads from August here!
Ha, ha - thanks Jenna :-)1. Senlin Ascends (Bancroft)
2. Paladin of Souls (Bujold)
3. The Toy Makers (Dinsdale)
Only fantasy or any genre? August hasn't been a good month for me except the last couple of days 1.Magic Triumphs by Ilona Andrews
2. The Duchess Deal by Tessa Dare
3.Indexingby Seanan Macguire.
I will start Daughter of the Forest today and that should be good.
1. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak2. The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman (Not finished this yet but I can't see it's position changing)
3. The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware
1. The Mirror's Truth2. The Poppy War
3. Casket of Souls
Honorable mention goes to The Fellowship of the Ring which was a reread.
I had a great August :)The Hero and the Crown
Scent of the Missing: Love and Partnership with a Search-and-Rescue Dog
And assuming I finish it tomorrow like I think I will....
The Princess Bride

I LOVE Senlin Ascends! Read it a year or two ago and was enthralled.
Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini TaylorThe Forbidden Door by Dean Koontz
On Writing by Stephen King
I reread The Last Olympian and The Bands of Mourning this month as well and really enjoyed both of those.
I haven't been reading much fantasy. The reason I joined this group is to dip my toes back in the waters. But here is my top 3 of August
The Good Daughter by Karin Slaughter
Reconstructing Amelia by Kimberly McCreight
Double Blind by Iris Johansen
I reread a couple old favorites this month, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone and Lord of Chaos. As for new reads, Kings of the Wyld was tops.
None of my top 3 were fantasy (well one had some fantasy elements). I think that was a first. These were all very good mysteries. The 7½ Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle
No Place Like Home
Like Never and Always
Honorable mention (because it's Kate Daniels). I almost added this to the top 3 but the mysteries blew me away this month.
Magic Binds
Top Three reads overall for the month:1) Every Heart a Doorway - Seanan McGuire
2) Crazy rich Asians - Kevin Kwan
3) River of Teeth - Sarah Gailey
A very good month for novellas for me. Really helped me read some new authors and get more reading done!
1. Memories of Ice by Steven Erikson2. Midnight Tides by Steven Erikson
3. Deadhouse Gates by Steven Erikson
Pretty much a Malazan month xD
No 5 stars this nonetheless, but ones I really enjoyed:
No Humans Involved - Kim Harrison [4.5/5]
Fury - Rachel Vincent [4/5]
Long Way to a Small Angry Planet [4/5]

I read some great books this past month. Here are my 3 favourites.Queen of Shadows
The Serpent and the Pearl
The Hero of Ages
I'm not counting the Kate Daniels books I read in August since they were re-reads except for 0.5. So my favorite were :The Crimson Crown
The Rithmatist
Jackaby
