I could too. If I reserve my copy it'll take about a week for it to be ready for pick up, what about yours?

My library only has one copy and that one is still loaned out until middle of October, so you two can also start without me, because I am afraid this will still take quite some time :(

My library has several copies, one of them is currently available. It always changes relatively quickly 😅 so if we want ro start soon, I'd reserve it too

I just tried to reserve mine but it didn't work out :/ I'll try again tomorrow or call my library then. I'll let you know when I reserved it, it only might take a while til I can pick it up because it's currently loaned out.

I got an email yesterday telling me I can come and pick up the book. So I can start as well! Just let us know when you get a copy Anni!

I just reserved mine, it will be able for pick up next week because it's currently loaned out. I'll let you know when I have it :)

I haven't gotten any mail from my library yet :/ if I don't have the book til the end of the week, maybe you want to start without me...:/

I just saw that mine is ready for pick up now :) Tomorrow my library is closed, but after that I'm gonna get my copy and we can start :)

There are 33 chapters, so maybe 8 chapters per week. Which is a bit less than 100 pages a week. If that works for the both of you? And maybe starting on Monday?

Just write down your thought within a spoiler and I will comment on it once I have read the first 8 chapters as well. Sorry for the short delay from my side..

I've read chapters 1 & 2 yesterday so I'm a bit behind too, but so far I'm really intrigued in the story. I was brought up on '80s things so I definitely love the references! Honestly, I had no idea what this was about when I added it to be tbr (I don't really read blurbs - I just hear good things about books and read 'em) and I'm really looking forward to where this is going!

It actually was kind of hard for me to get into the book because in the first chapters there's so much information and I don't know much about the 80s^^ but from chapter 6 or so on I couldn't put it down :)

The geeky feel to the book in general is awesome :D even if I don't know the video games or movies mentioned, it's relatable.

I know exactly what you mean. I'm sort of slowing down but I'm almost coming to chapter 4. I guess it's one of those books that hits you with the world building first then whisks you off in the action later (well, I'm hoping it's like that)

I have fiinished until chapter 5 now and indeed the last chapters were a lot of information, without any real action. So hopefully it will get more interesting soon. I do really love the worldbuilding, but I prefer it when it is a bit more of a mix, instead of in a literal class room.

I'm at chapter 18, really speeding on (view spoiler)
But also, I'm going to have to speak my mind; I wasn't impressed with the way, just a couple of pages in, it was having a bash on Christianity. If the author wants to bash it, fine, but how about he does so in another nonfiction book? So many books do this and I get authors want to put their beliefs in their books but reading should be a universal thing and having a go on something some people believe in is just limiting the readers' enjoyment (of the book) around the world. I mean I it's the author's choice but...argh I don't know how to explain! Do I that make sense anyway?

In the first chapter, he literally called it bulls**t. It just made me cringe with uneasiness...

Where is everyone in the book btw? I've slowed down reading because I don't want to overtake anyone but yeah, I'm still on chapter 18.

I just finished the book while I exactly should have been studying for my exams next week. The book was so good and I can't wait to discuss it with you! :)
