Yeah, I tried twice last year and gave up on both occasions!

Done with Part 1. I had a lot of difficulty in deciphering Stephen's monologue in the 3rd chapter!!!

1. There is this reference to circe when I clicked "Ghouls. The chewer of corpses" I didn't remember that circe is chewer of corpses when I read Circe by MM and also from google. So don't understand where and what the connection is.
2. I wondered why Mulligan refers multiple times as to Stephen's refusal to pray when his mother asked him at death bed, then finally figured that Mulligan is actually referring to lack of faith by Stephen. Why is Mulligan mocking Stephen's faith when he himself is mocking God?!?!? Jesuit...
3. Gosh, so much quoting of various books including the picture of Dorian Gray! That is the only quoted book I have read and so understood the reference :) Also, I know only couple of authors Keats, Wilde. Wilde's paradoxes...need to look up for more.
4. I enjoyed the mini poems (if that has a specific name, let me know, Aka) and also how the author described the sea.

800?! I am sure it's a lot more than that :P
We will try again come January.
Wish us luck.
