Both editions have a valid isbn, so no edition should be deleted.

Also mentioning the number of a post you are replying to, or use the reply function, in a thread with multiple posts will prevent confusion.

Hi! I added my book to Goodreads last week, with no ASIN, since it was not on Amazon yet. Advance readers have already left reviews and people have put it on their to-read shelf. Now the book is on Amazon and a new listing has been created, so there are two and BOTH have reviews. Can they be merged, so I don't lose my reviews? Only one currently connects to Amazon (I would like the new merged review to connect).

Also, I'd love to know how to avoid the same thing happening in the future!

I have added an edition of “Patrick Melrose volume 1” containing novels 1-3 in the series to a title that only included Kindle Editions as far as I could tell (ASIN: B079DSCZZD). I accidentally left the front 3 digits off the ISBN13 (1509897681, it did say it was invalid). I tried to fix it by adding 978 to the front but it came up with an error saying it already exists.

Then I saw that this ISBN has been added to a title Some Hope:A Trilogy which has a lot of foreign editions.

When you search for “Patrick Melrose”, as I did, to check for this book (Patrick Melrose Volume 1) the kindle title mentioned comes up and appears the obvious place for this ISBN given the cover picture is the same. It is an edition put out as part of cross-promotion with the new TV mini-series.

As it seems hard to find in the Some Hope title, I would think it better to put both books (Volume 1 and 2) in with the kindle titles.
Volume 2 book (isbn13 9781509897704) is also in with a bunch of other language titles.

This seems a little tricky for my first attempt at adding a book.

#82 Richard, just FYI, when you have the isbn or asin of a book you wish to add, always search by the numbers rather than the title of a book, sometimes I even search both.

79: I fixed the author's name so that the two editions could be combined (and then separated) together. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4... is the edition that needs merging (with a truncated ISBN 13 in the ISBN 10 field).

You couldn't combine them via the translator because the primary author is the key that the combine page works off of. You'd have had to go to Shakespeare's combine page to do it. Aren't you glad they're both valid editions so that you don't have to? :)
