Haha that's one of my all time favorites and I was happy to see it there. To each their own.
Science fiction: read 15, 21 on TBR (I have a hard copy of most of these)Fantasy: read 29, DNF 1 (The Golem and the Jinni), 12 on TBR (I also have a hard copy of most of these)
I didn't really see any books I'd want to add to my TBR. I do not read PNR, and I rarely read graphic novels.
My count was - Sci-fi = 9 / Fantasy = 10Which was actually more than I expected as I've only just started to delve into these genres.
Unsurprisingly, a lot of them were graphic novels (glad to see those on the lists)
I have a lot of the titles on my TBR stacks though - so the numbers should rise before long :)
I've read 15 of the fantasy (with a further 9 already on my TBR) and 7 of the sci-fi (with another 9 on my TBR). I'm actually surprised how many I've read of the most popular fantasy! I'm always wary of reading older sci-fi novels as I don't tend to enjoy them as much, so the fact I haven't read as many of the sci-fi doesn't surprise me.It's interesting seeing the apparently most popular sci-fi and fantasy books though - some of them I really didn't expect, particularly on the fantasy list!
I don’t think of myself as much of a fantasy fan (I’ll pick it up if there’s no immediate sci-fi or space opera around) but I found that I have read 20 of the fantasy books on the top 50 Goodreads list.
Same with me, MadProfessah, and yet I’ve read the same amount of each, seven sci fi and seven fantast books. Odd, since I’ve definitely read a lot more science fiction, they’re just not on that particular list XD
35 on sci-fi list, 31 on Fantasy !!I really need to read some other genres :)
Tbh, some really random choices in the fantasy section.
I have read 19 of the scifi and 11 of the fantasy which seems logical and there is a similar quantity I have marked as for my TBR. However for each I have only 2 purchased but not yet read which is a contrast to the piles of literary fiction have on my shelves bought on a whim but for which I never quite have time.
I've read 19 books on the scifi list and 5 books are on my TBR list. On the fantasy list (which is kinda random) I've read 15 books and 4 books are on my TBR list. I was actually a bit surprised to see that I've read more scifi than fantasy books, because I've always been more of a fantasy person than scifi and only in resent years have I started reading more scifi. But on the other hand there were kinda many books in the fantasy list that I had never even heard of, so it might explain something in this case.

There isn’t anything too surprising about the lists. It’s mostly a combination of books that have gotten a lot of buzz in recent years, as well as older classics that have been influential to the genres. I admit I rolled my eyes a bit when I saw Red Rising, but I wasn’t surprised to see it. Of the ones I’ve read, I definitely wouldn’t list all of them as personal favorites, but there are some I would.
