Luna reached out and squeezed his hand. She released and then turned around to tap the girl in front of hers shoulder. "Excuse me, do you know what's for dinner?"

London stood back and watched seeing the girl turn around to see who had tapped her. The girl blinked a bit surprised since she hadn't been paying much attention.
"Oh." She suddenly smiled seeing her. "I believe tonight it's chicken and vegetables, and of course whatever fruit you decide to pick." She looked at her for a moment. "But you're new here right, I'm Olivia." She smiled putting her hand out to her.

Luna grinned taking the girls hand. "It's nice to meet you, I'm Luna!" She said cheerily. She stepped to the side a little to London was visible. "This is London, we're both new." She explained hiding him from view again. "We've just taken the entrance tests, and we are hoping we get in." Luna explained, rambling further. "What about you? How long have you been here?"
"It's nice to meet you both." She smiled and waved at London, noticing the uncomfortable expression on his face. "I've been here for about a year and a half now." She tilted her head thinking about it. "But I don't think you'll have a problem with the exam."
London stood back as the two talked, he sighed silently as he watched them, just barely working up the courage to turn around and talk to the person behind him. Of course a bit awkwardly.
"Um...I'm London." He managed a bit of a smile.

"I'm glad you think so. I'm not sure what we would do if we couldn't attend school here." Luna said pushing her slightly damp hair behind her ears. "So, a year an a half. That's a good amount of time to know what's going on. What exactly do people do here? What subjects are taught?" Luna probed, moving forward with the line.
***
The boy turned his head to look at London. He raised his brows. "Your new." he said matter-of-factly. "I'm Jace. Jace Redman." He thought about uncrossing his arms to shake London's hand but thought better of it. His dark expression returned and he stared straight ahead again.
Don't be so rude! Jace heard his mothers voice ring in his head. He sighed and turned to the new kid again. "So, how long have you been here?"

"Oh once you get accepted you'll get a list of all the classes." She explained to her. "You have to choose a class for each subject, and one extracurricular class. "Like art class, which is what I have right now. "Hey, maybe we'll be in some of the same classes." She smiled brightly, suddenly excited for her new friend.
He hadn't expected much from the guy, he wasn't very good at this sort of thing. He was a bit relieved when he turned away, but when he started talking again he quickly had to remember to keep calm.
"Oh uh, we just got here a few hours ago." He told him. "That's Luna." He pointed to her over his shoulder.

Luna grinned. She was happy to finally have found a person as bright as herself. "That would be great. I hope we do! I can't wait to pick classes. Is there astronomy here? And are the history classes comprehensive and cool? Oh! What about psychology? I've always thought studying the mind would be fascinating! Or maybe a class on human behavior- ..." Luna continued to ramble on and on about all the classes she wanted to get under her belt.
One of the foster families, the nice ones, that she stayed with always said Luna had a knack for learning. And they were right, she wanted to know anything and everything about any given topic. The whole world was fascinating and bursting with information.
***
Jace nodded. So he was very new. He then looked to where London pointed. Jace's heart stopped beating for a moment. She seemed familiar, but the familiarity was shadowed by how pretty and innocent she was. Jace was never one to portray his feelings, especially to a stranger. So he just snickered quietly before saying "she's awfully pale isn't she? And does she ever stop talking?"

Olivia smiled at all her questions, for a moment glancing over to her friend. He seemed pretty quiet, but she did think he was sort of cute. But she turned her attention back to Luna.
"Yes." She's so excited, she thought to herself. "They have all of those to choose from!" She moved forward seeing they were close to the front now. "Oh, I can show you around the campus too."
London wasn't sure what came over him, but he narrowed his eyes slightly as his comment. This was why he didn't like people. Was he trying to be mean?
"Pale?" He said slowly, feeling he needed to defend her. "Why does it matter how much she talks? "She's passionate, is there something wrong with that?"

"Oh would you? That's great! Can London come along? I don't think I'll be able to remember everything if he isnt there too." Luna giggled as she peaked around Olivia to see the food. It looked wonderful, better that trash bin food at the least.
***
Jace help up his hands in defence. "Sorry man. I'm just saying. I dont think she's stopped since she got in line - not that I've been eavesdropping" he added quickly. "You two are obviously close... what's your relationship?" He said pointing between the two of them before crossing his arms.

"Oh course he can." She smiled grabbing a tray as the line moved. "The more the merrier." She laughed softly. "You're both going to love it here, most of the teachers are super nice. "There are a few that are pretty strict, but they mean well."
He glanced back to Luna for a moment, they hadn't really expressed to each other what they were. But they did say how much each other cared for the other, he guessed he would talk to her about it later.
"She's my girlfriend." He said confidently.

Luna grabbed a tray as well, and one to pass back to London. "Great! I'm just so excited. I can't wait to start learning." Luna turned around to pass London his tray, just missing their conversation. "It's chicken, vegetables, and fruit for dinner London! Isn't that cool?" She asked with a grin. Luna then noticed that the boy behind them was staring. "Oh, hi there...." Luna pondered him for a moment. "You look familiar." she mused aloud. She tried never to forget a face, but after all the foster homes, and then the institute most things were a blur. She shook it off and stuck out her hand. "I'm Luna!" She said with a smile.
***
Jace was a bit taken aback by how London claimed his relationship. "Oh, well... good for you." he said with another glance at the girl. Then she whipped around and he jumped a little, shifting his eyes to the ceiling. But, then she introduced herself - and felt that he looked familiar too. He still couldn't quite place her. He took her hand and shook it briefly. "Jace. I was just chatting with London here about you."

Olivia smiled happily as she moved to fill her tray, allowing her to go back to her friend. When she was done she would offer to let them sit with her as well. She was curious about them.
London looked back to her as heard her talking to him, and took the tray.
"Yeah it looks great." He nodded, looking up at the food, the smell hitting him. Grateful that his stomach didn't immediately start growling. When she introduced herself to Jace, he didn't know why he suddenly had a strange feeling. He had did his best to try and converse with him, he didn't think he had done a very good job.

"Oh? Well, good things I hope" Luna said cheerily, not probing further. She couldn't shake that she knew him from somewhere, but decided she would figure it out later.
***
Jace shrugged. "All good things. Maybe as time goes on I'll find out more." he said with a slight flirt in his voice. The line moved forward and Jace grabbed his tray.
***
Jace's flirting went right over Luna's head. "Maybe so!" Luna noticed London was silent and looked over at him. "Olivia, the girl in front of me, offered to show us around campus sometime! Doesn't that sound exciting?" Luna grinned happily before turning to load her tray with basically everything in sight.

He was silent as he listened to there exchange of course he picked up on his flirting. He turned turn back around though, he faced forward now not wanting to turn back to him.
"Yeah...that would be great." He was glad her experience here so far was going well. That part at least made him happy. He wasn't so sure about Jace. A quick thought of him flinging him across the room popped into his head, he immediately pushed it away.
"Hey would you two like to sit with me?" Olivia smiled as she saw her turn back her way. She looked between the two, hoping that they would accept.

Luna had two large pieces of chicken, a plateful of fruit, and some carrots - she wasn't a big fan of vegetables. If she could skip without spilling her plate, she would.
"Absolutely! I'm glad the first person I met is as nice as you are!" She turned to London with raised brows, as if to ask 'this is ok right?'

"That would be nice." He smiled at her, at least he would be away from the other guy. And she seemed to be nice enough at least. He got his food, and stood beside Luna now. The other girl seemed pretty happy about them being there.
"Oh amazing." She smiled waiting to the side for them. "Come on, lets go and grab a table." She nodded her head toward the tables and happily went to find a free one.

Luna followed Olivia to a table. "Should we invite Jace?" she asked turning around to look for him. She always thought the more people she could surround herself the better. Jace did seem a little shady but she wasn't one to judge someone quickly. She made eye contact with him and grinned, about to wave him over if the other two agreed.
***
Jace was just minding his business, getting his food when he saw the happy pale girl, Luna, look at him. He shivered again as her icy blue eyes seemed to stare into him. It was like he couldn't hide from her.

"He usually sits with his own friends." Olivia said as she walked to the table and set her tray down. "But you could sure try." She hadn't talked to him much. He didn't seem all that bad to her, after all she did have a few classes with him.
"Maybe we just...uh let him sit with his friends?" London offered hoping she would agree. He set his tray down on the table, glancing over to where he was in the line. Maybe he shouldn't be so judgmental, he thought to himself. Maybe they just got off on the wrong foot. "I guess...if you want to..."

Luna heard London too late. As soon as Olivia gave her the go ahead she raised her hand and waved. Then she heard London and looked at him. "Sorry London! I... we can let him do his thing tomorrow?" She gave him a small smile. "It'll just be for today." Luna made a mental note to ask him his opinion on Jace later. Luna turned back around as she saw Jace coming and set her tray between London and Olivia.
***
Jace's heart flipped when he saw her wave. Great.... He didn't want to sit with them, but he did want to sit with her. At least to see if he can figure out where he knows her from, and he liked to see London squirm. Maybe Luna could be his new conquest, that would be nice pale notch for his belt.
Jace waved to his other group, boys sitting on a table around the corner, girls hovering next to them. He then nodded to the table he was going too so they would know he wasn't abandoning them.
Jace set his tray next to Olivia. "Thanks for the invite." He said as he passed Luna and sat down. "Hey there Olivia. How did you think that English test went?"

London slowly sat down in the chair. He would have to get through tonight, and not do anything stupid. At least with her sitting beside him he could keep himself in check better. He gave her an understanding smile, and started to slowly eat his food. Tomorrow would just the two of them and maybe Olivia, at least that was what he hopped.
"Oh I think I aced it." Olivia smiled happily. "I'm more worried about the biology test tomorrow." She said thoughtfully, though she said this she didn't really seem concerned.

Jace nodded, "cool." He said turning his gaze to Luna. He hadn't really encountered anyone so innocent and perky before. And she certainly stood out in the crowd. His eyes roamed over her hair, eyes, mouth... Jace brought himself back to the here and now. "So, Luna... and London. How do you guys like Hilcrest so far?" He had asked the two of them, but still stared at Luna.
***
Luna had just taken a bite of her chicken, so he held up a finger. While she was chewing and swallowing she noticed him staring intensely. She wondered if he was just like this. Maybe he really likes eye contact? She mused silently. She looked to London so he could answer first.

He told himself to calm down, everything was fine. Just some guy, though he still didn't like how he was looking at her. He wasn't quite sure how to answer his question.
"Yeah, it's a nice place..." He said a bit of an edge to his voice as he noticed his eyes still lingering on her. "I'm looking forward to starting classes."
Olivia looked at him curiously, he did seem to mean it. But she couldn't help but notice something else there. She didn't think it mattered though, she was interested in finding out more about them.

Luna finally swallowed. "Sorry, the chicken was too good to rush through." Luna laughed. "I think the campus is gorgeous, I love the artwork in the halls. And the food here is great, is it always this good?" Luna glanced at London, noticing his mood was off. Though he was pretty quiet, maybe this was normal? Still, Luna slid left hand over to his knee and rested her hand on it as a gentle reminder she was here for him. With her other hand she shoved a spoonful of fruit in. It was all she could do to not moan with pleasure. It had been a long time since she had a proper meal.
***
Jace grinned. "I think it is. The breakfast here is the best though, at least I think so." Jace took a quick bite of his chicken before continuing. "So, where are ya'll from? And you too Olivia, we havn't spoken much and I'm curious about you as well."
Jace noticed Luna's arm move closer to London as he spoke. She seemed pretty empathetic, maybe he could use this. He then examined Olivia, she was pretty cute too. And didn't seem to know about his underground reputation with the other female classmates.

London visibly seemed to calm a bit as he felt her hand. He felt he knew what the guy was up to, but did it matter? He smiled slightly and gently put his hand over hers. He decided not to tell them about where they had been living for the passed few years, that wasn't something that they needed to know. Instead he told them where he used to live.
"I use to live a few states over." He told them. "Moved here when I was pretty younger." It was at least partly the truth.
Olivia smiled as she was included in the conversation as well.
"Oh, I lived here all my life." She mused. "I've wanted to go here since I can remember. "I was so excited when I finally got in."

Luna felt London ease at her touch. She smiled to herself as he put his hand on hers, and she stroked his leg with her thumb. She glanced at him quickly with a half-smile before looking to Olivia. "That's cool, that means you'll have tons to show us!" Luna took a small bite of her fruit before answering Jace. "I was actually a foster kid. So... all over I guess. But I hope this is my home now." She said with a smile to all of them, but hers lingered on London as she gave his knee a little squeeze.
***
Foster homes... His family had tons of foster kids through the years... and the more he looked at her the more it dawned on him. He looked at her closer... her hair was white... but she looked familiar. He seemed to recall a dark haired girl, brown eyes - also had an extremely sunny disposition. They couldn't be the same person though...
Jace noticed that he had been silent for too long, staring too long. He snapped his attention to Olivia. "Well, how cool. I've also been here forever. But it was guaranteed I'd get in, my aunt is one of the headmistresses." He said leaning back in his chair loftily.

He could actually think a bit straighter now, though he did keep staring at her. He shook it off and ate his food. It had been a very long time since he had a hot meal and decent food. This was definitely way better then anything he could have wanted. He was glad they just happened to find this place, no matter who was here. He almost froze as he heard him say he was the headmistresses nephew. He decided to put it out of his mind and continued to eat.
Olivia had know that part at least, at the time she had though it was sort of unfair. But it didn't bother her anymore, she had gotten in after all.
"Foster families?" She said nodding her head curiously. "It's probably not the same, but I was adopted." She didn't think it was anywhere near the same thing. But it was something similar, she hoped they had other things in common.

Luna gave Olivia a sympathetic smile. "Oh, Olivia I'm glad you found a family! That's wonderful. I think it's kinda the same, you just have parents now - which is great!" Luna said happily to Olivia, though perhaps a note of lament was in her voice. She wished she had a family of her own, she always had. But, that made her even more thankful for London. No one had cared for her like this before. This thought made her turn her head to him, a solemn smile on her face. She wished she could kiss him, or even just be alone with him now.
***
Jace examined Luna and Olivia's interaction. He hadn't known Oliva was adopted, so it was nice to have more gossip about a fellow classmate. He stayed silent and turned his head slightly to view London as Luna looked to him.

London smiled as he looked back at her, he gave her hand a small squeeze. Later they would be able to be alone, and talk about things. Though he did want to lean over and kiss her, he didn't think it would be a good idea. He could feel Jace's eyes on him, but he ignored it as he quickly thought of something to ask.
"So what kind of fun things is there to do around here?" He asked mostly to change the subject, feeling a bit bad about the subject.
Olivia turned her attention to London, smiling as she thought of the activities around.
"There's a pool, we can swim in on the weekends." She pointed to her fingers as she listed things off. "And a movie theater, and mall not to far away from here. "As long as you have you're grades up you can go."

Luna released London's knee so she could clap her hands together. "A mall? Like - a real mall/! Thats SO cool! I've always wanted to go to a mall, I want to buy book! And shoes! And eat pizza at the food court!" Luna's eyes filled with wonder and excitement. She had never been to one before, and she thought the prospect amazing.
***
Jace stiffened a snicker. She really was enthusiastic about things. He had finished his food and stood up. He was growing bored of this conversation, and he wasn't used to not being the center of attention. "I'll see you later." He said taking his tray and setting a napkin in front of Luna with his room number and cell on it. He waved at the rest of them, winked at London and proceeded to his usual table where he received a warm welcome.
***
Luna furrowed her brows as she peeked at the napkin. "What's this? Is this a phone number?" She mused quietly. She giggled, "do you think he want's to hang out with us later? Maybe we should invite him to the mall?" Luna asked Olivia and London with a naive grin.

Olivia waved to him, before she heard what Luna said. She looked at the napkin and pressed her lips together. Of course she didn't know why she didn't see it before, but Luna didn't seem to understand and she wasn't going to say in front of London. The two of them seemed kind of close, and she didn't want to make him upset. He seemed pretty docile, but he also seemed like he would flip out if he got upset.
London was very much relived when he finally left the table, his eyes narrowed though as he winked at him though, looking over as she picked up the napkin. That was almost more then he could handle. He did it right in front of him, he knew a challenge when he saw one. His jaw clenched and he did his best not to jump up and storm over to him.
"Um..." He wasn't quite sure how to explain it to her. "Maybe we should...scope it out ourselves first?" He offered, he would tell her later.

Luna put the napkin back down. "Sound's good to me!" she said cheerily with a smile to both of them. She looked back to the napkin. "It's a shame I dont have a phone, then we could all keep in contact." Luna pushed the napkin to the side and finished off her carrots which she had saved for last.
Luna looked up at the clock on the wall. "It's getting kind of late, and I'm a little sleepy." She said looking to London. "Can we leave?" Then she thought for a moment, turning to Olivia "are we allowed to? Is there a dismissal?"

"Oh if you are done you can leave." She told her, coming to the last bit of her own food. "As long as you don't wander the halls after curfew you'll be okay." She waved her hand a bit, and smiled at the two of them. "I'll hopefully see you both tomorrow then?"
London finished up his fruit as she asked. He looked over to Olivia as she explained. Now with a stomach full of food, he realized just how tired he was himself. They had only rested a little before they got her.
"Sure." He smiled politely. "Are you ready to go then?" He started to stand and looked to Luna.

"Absolutely! We can meet here for breakfast!" Luna stood and took her tray. "I'm ready to sleep like a baby." She laughed aloud and looked around for where to put her tray. Napkin forgotten on the table.

Jace saw Luna stand out of the corner of his eye. He had just been laughing with his friends about how out of place the two new kids looked. "Yeah, but we'll see if we can initiate them won't we? Or at least the girl." He cackled and turned back to high five the hands of his heathens.

"Bye!" She waved happily to the two of them as they left. She hadn't expected to make such a quick friend today, it made her happy to know she would be able to spend more time with her tomorrow too.
London grabbed his tray, noticing the napkin on the table he didn't even think about it. As he was putting his tray away, he discreetly threw it in the garbage. It wasn't going to solve much, but it made him feel a bit better. Once he put his tray up, he gently took her hand.

Luna was glad that she could rely on London to be by her side at all times. She took his hand gratefully, proud to show everyone that she was his. "Well dinner was fun. We made friends!" She said with glee. She didn't have the energy anymore to bounce, instead as they walked out Luna rested her tired head on his shoulder.

Jace saw the two walk out, hand in hand. Maybe she would be harder to get than he thought. His mother always said he had a problem wanting what someone else had.
((How mature are you comfortable with/ is allowed?))

((I'll go as far as you want. But I'm not really good at writing it lol.))
"It was a nice dinner." He agreed nodding his head as they got into the hallway. "Olivia seems nice." He didn't say anything about Jace, not wanting to get into that at the moment. He didn't know why he tried to make nice with someone, he now regretted even turning around in the first place. "Seems like we will have plenty to do here."

(( Sweet. They wont have sex anytime soon lol, but makeout sessions might increase lol. And obviously Jace wants to bang her, so I kinda wanted a scene where he almost does, Luna not fully conscious of course, and London saves her. Are you ok with that?))
Luna nodded in agreement. "I think we will too. I think we got really lucky with this place." They began to approach the door of the room they were staying in for the night. Luna opened it with her free hand and stepped inside. "It's going to be weird when we get accepted and I wont get to sleep with you anymore. I mean - not with you- just.. I mean, I'll miss having you in the same room."

((Yeah, that's fine with me.))
He walked in behind her and shut the door. He knew what she meant, but he couldn't help but go a bit red. He sat down on the bed and loosened his tie.
"Well, we will still get to see each other everyday." He said smiling. Even if it would be hard to not be able to share a room with her, he would be fine as long as he knew she was close. "Besides I'm sure we can study together too."

(( sweet. ))
Luna sat next to him on the bed and took off her flats and socks. She yawned and stretched her arms falling back onto the bed. She swung her feet a little and looked up at the ceiling. "We should try to get classes together." she said turning her head to look up at him.

"That would be nice." He nodded his head, flipping his shoes off and setting the tie to the side. He sighed and lay back beside her putting his arm around her. At least they were alone now, and he could enjoy the rest of the night with her. "You'll probably have to help me with some of the classes." He smiled a bit. "I was okay in school, but I was never good at math."
Luna smiled and scootched closer to him, turning on her side and putting her arm around him. She nuzzled her head into his chest and closed her eyes. "I'll always help you." She whispered. After a moment she turned and looked up at him. "Maybe we can get a study session going with Olivia and Jace too. We can all be study buddies." She giggled softly.
At the mention of his name he immediately went cold. He guessed now was as good a time as any. But he would try and tell her gently.
"I'm....not sure I really like him." He said slowly, thinking of his words carefully. "I don't know...he just gives me a bad feeling..." He knew what he was up to after all, the way he was around her just made him feel sick.

Luna sat up, still almost on London. "People have always been better at sensing others than I am. They've told me that I live on a cloud where everything is sun and rainbows." Luna paused and looked down at the buttons on London's shirt. "And I think they're right. And I think you're right." She looked back into his eyes. "He stared at me an awful lot which was creepy. But, I don't like writing people off. Maybe we should just give him a little time to warm up to us?" Luna cocked her head to the side. "Unless you think we shouldn't... I think you're more realistic than I am."
He didn't want to ruin her sunny outlook on life, but then again he knew he had to protect her from him. He could still do both.
"I think it's great that you want to see the good in people." He smiled gently stoking her hair. "But I just don't trust him." He told her honestly. "Maybe it's just me being paranoid, but I really didn't like how he was looking at you."

Luna leaned her head more into his hand, loving the intimate touch of it. She nodded, "I understand. And I'm glad I have you here to watch out for me." She looked more deeply into his eyes, trying to read him. She felt his uneasiness with Jace, and took it to heart. Though Luna would still probably see the best in him, she would be cautious.
Luna moved the arm that was around London to be more on his chest, stroking it a little, playing with the buttons. Luna had used to collect buttons when she was younger. There was a time she stayed with an old woman that loved to sew, and she used to giver her little buttons to put in a jar.

London was glad he was able to tell her how he felt about the situation, and glad she seemed to understand. He smiled and gently rubbed her back, kissing the top of her head he closed his eyes. He felt relaxed now, and safe. Which was why after a few minutes of laying there with her, he hadn't meant to but he drifted off to sleep. Walking all day, and his stomach now full of food definitely helped that as well. He was content though, laying there with her in his arms, glad they had a nice warm place to sleep. There were a few things he didn't like, but they could get through those together. It was better then not knowing where they would sleep, and dumpster burgers.
Luna was still awake, thinking and imagining all sorts of things about today and the next days of her life. She wanted the results to come in soon, so she could finally have a constant in her life, well - a constant besides the wonderful boy laying next to her. She felt him relax and drift off to sleep.
Every part of her wanted to curl up beside him and sleep as well, but she knew if the Ladies came to wake them in the morning they would throw a fit, and maybe throw them out. So, sadly, Luna kissed Londons cheek and maneuvered her way out of his arms. Luna padded to her bed quietly and slipped under the covers. As she lay her head on the pillow she almost immediately fell asleep.

London even in his sleep felt the absence of her not in his arms anymore. For a moment his brow furrowed, but it melted away after a few minutes. He hadn't though he would ever have anything but nightmares, most of the night he had a very good dream about him and Luna, getting through school easily, and once they were out him being able to give her whatever she dreamed of. Luckily that dreamed lasted most of the night.
Luna's dreams consisted of Jace chasing her, and ended with her snapping his neck. Over and over they played, until Luna had thrashed so much she fell off the bed.
"Oof!" she cried out in a dazed stun. She hated that she had been having nightmares now. She saw London still sleeping on the bed and her heart slowed again. She took several deep breaths before standing up and crawling into bed again. She was afraid to go to sleep, instead she just watched London's breath rise and fall evenly. Soon the scene tired her eyes and without her aware, she slipped back into a dreamless slumber.
Sunlight began streaming through the window, and Luna continued to sleep - exhausted from the days prior and her fitful sleep.

The other half of the night, the dream shifted and he of course the nightmares started. But that wasn't what woke him finally, the light from the sun made it through his eye lids and he groaned quietly in annoyance. Though he had some nightmares, it had been awhile since he had slept so well. For a moment he lay there, just wanting to continue sleeping. But then he remembered where they were, and opened his eyes turning his head toward the clock on the wall. It was still early, but he knew he wasn't going to be able to go back to sleep. He stretched sitting up at the same time and looking over to where Luna was still sleeping. He didn't want to wake her just yet, so he silently slipped out of bed and went into the bathroom.
