He smiled at how full of energy and excited she always was, and always managed to be upbeat even in there current situation. It had surprised him at first, he was almost the exact opposite. But she still managed to make him smile.
"Lets see where it takes us." He added, walking along side her.

message 202: by [deleted user] (new)

She couldnt help but swing their hands a bit. She had never been close to someone like this before, it felt really nice. "I think it's funny that fate matched us up. We make a pretty good pair. I dont think I could have made it out of there, or know what to do out here without you." She rambled once more glancing happily around at the trees, ans hearing the birds chirp.

message 203: by [deleted user] (new)

"You think so?" He glanced over to her, wondering how she read his mind. He had thought the same of her, but he didn't ever think she felt the same. Without much thought about it, he leaned over and kissed her cheek before he kept going.

message 204: by [deleted user] (new)

Luna almost stopped walking, she was stunned. But it was such a happy stunned that she wasnt quite sure what to do with herself. She squeezed his hand, and opened her mouth to speak. "London? I ... thank you." She finally decided to say before as stopping their walk and getting on her tiptoes to kiss his cheek back. Her face flushed a bit before she returned to her feet.

message 205: by [deleted user] (new)

He definitely did not expect her to do that, he had kissed her, but it hadn't dawned on him until now. He looked over to her, feeling his face get hot. He didn't know what to do or say, this honestly had never happened to him before.
"You uh...." He cleared his throat. "Don't have to thank me..." He didn't know how to express his feelings, and he had a bunch of them going through his head. "Um...we should keep going..." He hadn't said what he wanted to.

message 206: by [deleted user] (new)

Luna turned away and kept walking, their hands beginning to sweat but she didnt want to pull hers away. They kept walking in silence for what seemed like ages. Before long Luna began to giggle to herself.

"I'm glad you're awkward too. We make a good pair." She said trying to break the tension. "Do you think, in a couple of miles we could take a break? My feet are starting to hurt."

message 207: by [deleted user] (new)

"Yeah, of course." Glad she switched to something else. It would also give him time to think of something to actually say to her about it. He really did want to tell her how he was feeling, but he was afraid he would mess it up and say something completely stupid. His feet were actually starting to bother him too, though dealing with his headaches all the time he tried not to let it get to him.

message 208: by [deleted user] (new)

"Snazzy." She replied keeping her eyes in the trees. As they kept walking she adjusted their grip before saying "Have you ever climbed a tree? I tried once and I fell on my butt, and then my foster mom got mad that I fell in her garden." She said with a light awkward laugh.

message 209: by [deleted user] (new)

"I use to climb trees all the time." He mused, half smiling as he remembered. "I had a tree house I built and everything. "It wasn't anything fancy or anything. "But I fell out of it one day and hit my head pretty good. "My...mom wouldn't let me go back up to it after that."

message 210: by [deleted user] (new)

Luna smiled, "climbing tree's always seemed so liberating to me. It's cool to try to be 'one with nature.' And trees are just so... strong, and majestic. I've always wanted to climb a big oak tree and just sit up there and read, or listen to the birds sing." She rambled perkily with more of a skip her her step now. She swung their hands gently as she bobbed along, almost white tendrils bouncing with her.

"If I could live anywhere I think it would be a great big tree house somewhere far away." She mused softly, closing her eyes briefly to imagine it.

message 211: by [deleted user] (new)

He smiled as he listened to her, it seemed to make her happy to talk about.
"Those big redwoods." He looked over to her, thinking about what she said. "They are the biggest trees, and sturdy and strong. "If I were to build a tree house again I would do it there. "All the way up where it feels like you are far away from everything."

message 212: by [deleted user] (new)

Luna grinned, "sounds good to me! Maybe the next house we find will be a cute little tree house" she giggled. Then, Luna noticed her feet starting to sting again. She looked up at London, "could we take a break? Just a short one." She said slowing down a little and tugging lightly on London's sleeve with her free hand.

message 213: by [deleted user] (new)

"Oh, right of course." He realized he been thinking out loud, but shook it off. At least she agreed. He stopped and looked around seeing where they could sit. "Lets just sit here for now." He walked over to the side a bit and sat in the grass. It would be fine for now, they had gone a pretty good ways.

message 214: by [deleted user] (new)

Luna let go of his hand and happily plopped down on the grass. She laid down and tucked her arms under her head so she could look at the clouds. Her nose crinkled up and her eyes squinted. "London look its a bunny!" She said gleefully pointing to a slightly-bunny shaped cloud.

message 215: by [deleted user] (new)

He tilted his head up to see where she was looking. Clouds. It had been a very long time since he just laid back and looked at them. He turned and lay a bit beside her looking up at them. He didn't really see it, but he didn't want to ruin it for her.

message 216: by [deleted user] (new)

Luna turned on her side slightly to address London. "Now we just need to find a gecko" she giggled turning back to the sky to search for London's imaginary pet.

message 217: by [deleted user] (new)

"hmmm...." He searched around the sky, looking at the clouds. For a moment it he just looked around the sky, just seeing fluff. But after a minute he smiled a little as he reached up and pointed toward one. "There, he's right there." It wasn't exactly gecko shaped, it looked more like a snake with legs.

message 218: by [deleted user] (last edited Aug 25, 2018 07:46PM) (new)

Luna searched for a moment but couldn't see it. She scootched closer to him, putting her head in the crook of his neck. She ran her right finger down his arm to the tip of his finger and followed it with her eye. "Oh!" She cried out suddenly. "I see him" she said turning her head to look at him. She smiled, but then realised how close they were and scooted back just a little, slightly pink.

"I used to cloud watch all the time when I was little." She said dreamily looking back at the sky again.

message 219: by [deleted user] (new)

He froze when he felt her lay her head on him, feeling his breath hitch for a moment. His face feeling hot again as she traced her finger along to his finger. He silently gulped as he saw how close she was, face to face with her he quickly looked back to the sky.
"I just liked watching the sky..." He said trying to make his voice sound normal. "I'd always fall asleep."

message 220: by [deleted user] (new)

Luna nodded and smiled at the sky. "It is quite peaceful. I wish we could be safe to just lay here forever." She mused in a whisper. She rested her hands on her stomach and closed her eyes. She felt the sun warm her body all the way down to her toes, which she wiggled as the breeze passed over them. She imagined her life if she could stay here frozen in time, with London.

message 221: by [deleted user] (new)

He looked over at her again, thinking of what it would be like once they finally found some place they could stay. Where they didn't have to worry about if they were safe or not. He knew he would of course always worry about her, it wouldn't matter where they ended up. He looked away after a moment, and sat up leaning back on his hands. He wondered how he had manged to let her in, nobody had ever gotten so close.

message 222: by [deleted user] (new)

Luna opened her eyes and saw London sitting up. She followed suit and turned to look at him. "I think it's time to go." She said reluctantly standing. She held out her hand to him.

message 223: by [deleted user] (new)

If only they were there now, he thought to himself. They could just sit as long as they wanted. Maybe he could even get out the words he wanted to. He took her hand as he got back to his feet.
"Do uh...your feet feel better?" He asked wondering it it was enough time.

message 224: by [deleted user] (new)

"I'll manage. I've decided that getting to wherever we are going is more important." She looked down at her feet before lifting one up in front of her to show him. "See? All good." She said with a smile.
Her feet were slightly pink and there were some small red cuts here and there, but other than that they were just fine.

message 225: by [deleted user] (new)

"We'll just let me know if they start hurting again." He told her. They didn't look bad right now, the more they walked though he was worried about her feet getting more cut up. His feet had been hurting for awhile now, but he hadn't said anything not wanting her to worry about him.

message 226: by [deleted user] (new)

Luna nodded, "I will. But don't worry about me, if something's up I'll tell you." She said beginning to walk again.

***

They walked for quite a distance more. Luna was mainly thinking to herself, making small talk with London, or humming a made-up song. Soon her stomach started to growl again, the sun sinking lower in the sky.

message 227: by [deleted user] (new)

London kept his eyes open as they continued on, though he did listen to her as she spoke. His feet were killing him now, but he still wouldn't say anything he was okay as long as he kept his mind on everything else. They seemed to be in the middle of nowhere, except for a few house scattered around. He was thinking about where they would stop, when they came up to a big building surrounded by a gate.

message 228: by [deleted user] (new)

Luna stopped her rambles and let her mouth fall open. "Ooooo, London this place looks SO cool!" She said skipping forward to peak threw the bars of the gate, trying to find a sign or something that would let them know what the building was.

message 229: by [deleted user] (new)

London looked through the bars, trying to get a good look through them. He saw some sort of sign on the building, he moved around to get a better look at it. He saw a sign but couldn't read it, the bars and a few trees blocked his view of it.

message 230: by [deleted user] (new)

"Well, this place is too snazzy not to investigate. And it's not like we have anything better to do." Luna said with a quick grin as she began to walk around the gate, hands trailing the bars. It was such a lovely place, it would be a shame for it to remain a mystery.

message 231: by [deleted user] (new)

He wasn't sure about investigating further, but she seemed to have her heart set on finding out more. So he quickly followed behind her, keeping an eye out for anyone who might be around. And he had to admit he was a bit interested himself.

message 232: by [deleted user] (new)

Luna crouched, pretending to be a spy. She walked until she was what she assumes to be the front gate. She stood again and turned to London. "This building is too big to be just a house." She whispered to him with a smile. Pretending to be a spy was fun, she used to sneak around her foster parents homes all the time.

message 233: by [deleted user] (new)

London lifted an eyebrow as he watched her, smiling after a moment. He gave in and crouched beside her, looking up at the place. She was right, it was to big for that. Which only made him wonder what it was used for. He thought for a moment as he looked up at the gate, and went to push it. Of course it didn't budge he hadn't expected it to.
"I could climb over." He said thoughtfully.

message 234: by [deleted user] (new)

Luna grinned. "Go for it. I'll climb over after you." She said almost bouncing with excitement. Then she held his arm. "Wait, we shouldnt... if we get caught they could - send us back. Or this place could be worse.." she said suddenly becoming paranoid and looking around them. She couldn't go back there, she couldnt let London go back there.

message 235: by [deleted user] (new)

He was about to stand up, when he felt her hand on his arm. He looked back at her seeing the look on her face he came back and put his arms around her.
"It's okay." He said quietly. "I wont let us go back there." He looked back at the building, eyeing it carefully. There didn't seem to be any sort of security like the institute. No bars on the windows to the room. But he knew what she was feeling.

message 236: by [deleted user] (new)

Luna hugged him back and buried her head in his chest. "Ok" she whispered into his chest. Still holding him she looked up into his eyes with a smile. "I trust you" she said with a sweet whisper.

message 237: by [deleted user] (new)

He felt as though his heart skipped a beat. She trusted him? He had't thought about it till now, but she had showed that she did a few times. But now hearing her say it. He took in a breath and calmed himself.
"We don't have to go in if you don't want to." He told her. "We can just keep moving."

message 238: by [deleted user] (new)

Luna let go of him. "My curiosity is killing me. I want to know what it is, but we just need to be careful." She said turning from him and peeking through the bars again. "Maybe this place is special. Maybe it could be home." She whispered hopefully, mainly to herself.

message 239: by [deleted user] (new)

"Alright." He got to his feet and examined the bars and gate for a moment. "Wait here a minute." He blew out a small breath before taking a hold of the bars and lifting himself up. He climbed up to the top and sat there for a moment before jumping down to the other side. It didn't really help his feet, but he didn't notice.

message 240: by [deleted user] (new)

Luna made the 'ok' symbol with her hand and peered at him through the gate. He was so agile, like a cat. Luna grinned and imagined little kitty London bouncing around. She thought he'd be a cute cat. As London began to investigate Luna began to muse about what she would be like as a cat.

message 241: by [deleted user] (new)

He crouched down for a moment, looking around the grounds of the place. It was pretty neatly kept, flowers and other such things lining the path up to the door. Something was different about it, it didn't seem at all like the institute. He didn't see anyone around and the place looked as though no one was awake, so he silently waved her over.

message 242: by [deleted user] (new)

Luna gave a thumbs up and jumped to lift herself up over the gate. She swung her legs and tried to land gracefully on the other side. Which she did, sort of. The ground was further than she thought and she let out a small squeal as she sank to her knees.
She stood and brushed herself off. Stifling a small giggle she bounced to London's side.

((Is this the school?))

message 243: by [deleted user] (new)

((I was thinking it was. Unless you had something else in mind.))

He cringe a bit as he saw her fall, about to go back over to her when he saw her pick herself back up. He mentally let out a sigh of relief and smiling slightly as she bounced over. He took her hand and slowly made the way up to it.

message 244: by [deleted user] (new)

((No, I was hoping it was haha))

Luna took his hand gladly and followed him. "The people here have to be nice. No one could have such pretty flowers and grass and not be nice." She mused quietly.

message 245: by [deleted user] (new)

He thought about going to the front, but he didn't think the front would be open. As they got closer to the building he noticed that it was probably the case, he didn't want to set off any alarms. He made the way along the side of the building toward the back, thinking there was probably something to see back there.

message 246: by [deleted user] (new)

"What's the plan here? We aren't breaking in are we?" She asked squeezing his hand a little tighter. As she slowed their walk she noticed they had passed a bench. Donated to the Hilcrest School by Johnathan Jones. She read. She stopped him and pointed. "London, London I think this is a school!" she said bouncing with joy.

message 247: by [deleted user] (new)

"What?" He stopped and looked at the bench. He read the text and stood up straight looking around the yard again. "I think you're right..." He said slowly. They were now in some sort of courtyard looking area. The benches and more places with neat looking flower plots. In the middle was a flag.

message 248: by [deleted user] (new)

Luna turned to London and took both of his hand. "Ok, London - this might be crazy." she began rocking on her feet. "Could... can we.... what if we went to school?" She squealed happily. "They didn't exactly teach us much at that place, and I think this was fate- we just happened upon this building!" Luna paused and rested her feet on the ground again. "So... what do you think?"

((Hey, should they develop other powers as well? Maybe something tied to the ability they already have?))

message 249: by [deleted user] (new)

((Yeah that would be cool.))

He wasn't sure what to think at first, thinking about all the things that could possibly go wrong. But he looked at her, holding her hands he could see she wanted to try. He was willing to as long as she was there with him.
"Alright." He said after a long moment. "I think it could be...interesting." He managed a small smile.

message 250: by [deleted user] (last edited Aug 26, 2018 07:14PM) (new)

((sweeet))

Luna smiled bigger than she thought she ever had in her life. She jumped at London and wrapped him into a hug, maybe tighter than she thought. "ThankYouThankYouThankYou!" she yelped gleefully.
