Jess and Fangs
Luna sat down and crossed her legs in front of her, doing another casual look around. "So... we should get enough food for the morning as well. so we can just eat as we go."
Even though it was only a few minutes, it felt like an eternity. The lights behind them in the restaurant flicked off and he blew out a breath, looking around before pushing himself to his feet.
"Come on." He whispered. "Let's go."
"Come on." He whispered. "Let's go."
Luna bit her lip and followed after him. "I'll let you take the lead on this one." She said staying close behind him.
Workers were walking to their cars, some conversing with each other on the way. One was smoking by his car, staring blankly at the sky.

Everything seemed to come back to him as he led the way to it. He looked at the employees making sure they were all looking away as he did his best to sneak by. Staying close to the building and leading them around the back.
Luna couldnt help but feel grossed out by all the trash and grime of the back lot. She curled her toes and prayed that rats didnt live here. "D-do you want me to be lookout while you grab stuff?" She asked tentitivly before she peered around the corner to make sure they weren't followed.
"Just call if you see someone." He didn't want her to have to jump in there. He didn't give it another thought as he pulled himself up and looked inside. "I'll just take a minute." He got on the edge of it looking over what had been just thrown out. He let out a breath as his eyes fell on a box. He reached over and pulled it closer peaking inside. He let out a sigh of relief as he saw the box was filled with leftover food they had to get rid of.
Luna watched for a few minutes before her head turned to the stars. Out in the relative middle of no where, they looked gorgeous. She let the stress and anxieties of the day melt away as she gazed at the constilations and the almost full moon.
She was too caught up with the stars to notice a gruff looking man walking towards them. Once her mind traveled back to Earth it was almost too late for them to run.
Luna let out a loud gasp and backed up quickly, tripping over a trash bag and falling backward. "London!" She exclaimed as she clamored to get up.

London was getting ready to jump down when he heard her fall. He looked over seeing the man, the food now only second in his mind as he let the box drop to the ground. He ran and quickly went to her side, putting himself between him the strange man. He took her hand, keeping her behind himself.
"London, we should just run..." she said eyeing the strangers size. She furrowed her brows at him and gritted her teeth. She was getting really tired of people picking on them.
***
The man laughed and cracked his knuckles. "You two aren't going anywhere." He began to walk forward, arms outstretched to grab London.

London gritted his teeth, and took her hand sending out a blast of his ability toward him. He remembered the food and used it again to bring it to him as he ran with her. He didn't think about any of it, the only thing he thought of was what would have happened. He didn't like the thoughts that had gone through his head, and he reacted on instinct.
The bad man flew backwards and hit the ground hard, he groaned and tried to sit up - with little effect.
**
Luna ran as fast as she could, still holding tightly to London. "That was awesome!" she said breathlessly as they kept sprinting away. She was glad London had decided to attack first, if they just ran the man could have followed them.

It was almost an instant headache, but he ignored as they ran. Trying to put as much distance as he could between them. He glanced back at her a ghost of a smile on his face, right now he would worry about getting them back. Then he could think about what had happened.
((skip?))
They ran and ran, Luna following closely and hoping London knew where he was going. Small rocks and other things poked and scratched at her feet, and it wasn't too comfortable. But they had to get away from everyone, be safe again.

((Yeah.))
They practically ran all the way back to there hide away shack. He didn't stop until they were inside. He closed the door behind them and set the box down, before collapsing into the chair.
"Are you alright?" He asked her after a moment.

Luna sank into the bed and rubbed her feet, they were stinging but other than that they were ok. "I'm fine. I'm more worried about you." she said wishing she could see him better. "That blast must have taken a lot out of you, and then we ran for what, two or three miles?" Luna took a breath and rubbed her eyes tiredly. "Are you alright?"
"Just a bit of a headache." He told her, catching his breath. He stood up and found the matches again to light the candle so they could see. His headache was a bit worse now that he had stopped running, it pounded in his head. "Just need to get some food." He gave her a smile, that was a bit forced as opened the box up.
Luna acknowledged him with a nod. She hopped off the bed and sat by his chair on the floor. She crossed her legs and looked around at the candle lit room. "It's nice and peaceful in here... I kind of like it."
He smiled a bit more genuinely now and nodded his head in agreement.
"Lets see what we have." He dug through the box a bit and pulled out two burgers, putting a handful of the loose fries on one of the wrappers. He set it on the table.

Luna got on her knees and moved the stack of books so there was more room. "We hit the motherload" she laughed popping a fry into her mouth. "We should save some for tomorrow though, so we don't have to stop again till later."
"We should have plenty left for the morning." He looked back into the box. "For now we eat and rest up." He took a bite of his burger, thinking about what had happened, hoping the guy didn't say anything about what seemed like nothing throwing him. But then again who would believe him, that thought calmed him slightly.
Luna followed suit and took a bite of hers. She immediately gagged and spit her bite out into the wrapper. She lifted up the bun and said "ugh pickles." She shivered and picked them off with a light laugh. "I've always thought pickles were disgusting." she added, now taking another bite.
He pulled himself from his thoughts as he heard her. He couldn't help but smile, chuckling lightly seeing her reaction to them.
"I think a lot of people don't like them." He said thoughtfully. "I like them though. "People always seemed to think it was weird."
"I think a lot of people don't like them." He said thoughtfully. "I like them though. "People always seemed to think it was weird."
Luna smiled and pushed the piece of wrapper with pickles on it toward London. "Then you can have mine weirdo" she giggled. Luna took another bite of her burger and swallowed before adding. "I havn't had McDonalds in such a long time. It's weird to have it again."
"Yeah it's been years for me too." He put one of the pickles in his mouth as he thought back to when the last time actually was. "I think I was like 10 the last time..." He was pretty sure it was on the day of his birthday, but he didn't remember. He finished up his burger and crumpled up the wrapper. His headache only a dull throb now, his stomach was starting to settle.
Luna wrapped the half burger she left and set it beside the box. "So... um, how long were you in there? The institute?" she asked looking at the ground. She knew this would be a sensitive subject for anyone. But she couldn't help it - she was curious.
He froze for a moment thinking back to the first day he got there. And remembering how old he was. Everything seemed to come back to him in a quick wave of memories.
"I was 12 when I first got there." He said after a long pause. "I'm 22 now." He sighed deciding she might as well know. "I told you before that I lost control of my abilities and ended up in there, it wasn't the whole truth." He paused gathering his courage again. "I hurt someone...badly..." He pressed his lip together looking down. "I couldn't stop it..."

Luna moved towards his chair and took his hands in hers. "Sometimes we can't" she said, voice breaking a bit. "I'm sorry that happened London... but like you tell me - it wasn't your fault. Not really. We ... we cant help it sometimes." She whispered hopefully reassuringly.
He knew she was right, and he knew he couldn't have helped it. But it still didn't stop him from feeling guilty about it. It had happened along time ago, but he still remembered it vividly.
"How long were you there?" He asked, still looking down.
"How long were you there?" He asked, still looking down.
Luna release his hands and sat on the corner of the table. "I got there when I was 12 as well. I'm 20 so, 8 years." She explained with a shrug. "We're out now, thats what matters." She said trying to brighten the conversation again.
"Yeah, I guess so." He looked up at her and smiled, they had gotten out. It had just dawned on him that they had managed to escape that god awful place. And he hadn't done it alone, she was there with him, and he was grateful to her. Had he been alone trying to do all that he knew it wouldn't have worked out. "Thank you."
Luna grinned. "Anytime partner." She hopped off the table and rested her hands on her hips. "We should probably get dome sleep now... I think we should leave early to get to... wherever we are going." She said raising her eyebrows to see what he thought.
"Probably a good idea." He stood up and looked over to the bed thinking a second. "You can take the bed, I'll be fine in the chair." He looked over to the rocking chair and headed over to it. He felt it was only fair that he let her take it this time. He wanted her to at least be comfortable for this night.
Luna nodded, "thank you." She turned and walked to the bed, laying down. "Hopefully we will find a place where we can both have a bed." She rolled over to have her back to the wall and curled up into a ball.
"Hopefully..." He sat down in the chair and lay his head back. He pictured what it would be like in his head, able to actually have a bed he could sleep in that was nice and soft. And not having to worry about food, or where it was coming from. He closed his eyes on that thought, willing it to happen.
Luna had a fitful sleep. When she awoke a few hours later her legs were tangled with the blanket. She took several minutes to adjust herself again. She layed down and tried to sleep again.
London didn't sleep very well, not because of the chair. He had slept in worse places. But the same nightmare he always had came back to him. Though he didn't wake up until morning it wasn't very restful. He sat up straight in the chair, looking around the small room until he calmed down and ran a hand down his face.
Once Luna had fallen asleep again she slept easy. She didn't have any dreams, and she didn't remember any from earlier either. She sat up slowly in bed once sunlight started to stream in. She yawned and rubbed the sleep from her eyes with her fists.
Luna blinked to help her eyes adjust and turned to see if London was awake too.

He stood up from the chair, stretching his arms. He looked over to her on the bed just as she looked at him.
"Morning." He smiled at her. At least she looked rested, he told himself. For some reason he felt it was more important then his own sleep.

Luna smiled happily. She yawned again and popped off the bed. Apparently she had stood up too fast though, and got dizzy. She staggered backward and sat down on the bed with a giggle. "I stood up to fast." she explained running her fingers through her hair and standing again.
"So- what's the plan?"
"So- what's the plan?"
"I've been thinking about it." He sighed and crossed his arms. The thing they really needed was money, but that wasn't in the cards right now. "We need to find a more permanent place. "There has to be a place around here that we can stay." Not that he had high hopes for it, who would take in a couple of people they didn't even know.
Luna agreed. She pursed her lips and thought for a moment. "Maybe we should just roll with the punches. Let's just get further away from here... and maybe we'll see something." She said adjusting her stolen nurses outfit.
((So, I was thinking that once they found a place they'd go to a highschool and we could have the drama of that. But, they are 20+ so either we lower the age or think college? or think of something else?))

((I think college would be fine, a bit more of a challenge for them to try and fit in.))
He nodded thoughtfully.
"Alright." He agreed. "We keep going as far as we can." The farther they were away from the institute the better. No matter where they ended it up, it would be way better then that place any day. "Lets eat first, and then we can get going."

((Also, money? Are we just gonna pretend college is free? XD))
"I agree. We don't know how far we'll be going, so we'll need energy." She agreed, walking to the table to grab the rest of her burger. She looked longingly at the books. "I wish there was a bag around, so we could take the books, and maybe a blanket with us." She brushed more dust off of Tom Sawyer and adjusted the stack of books. "A bag would probably only slow us down anyway." she then said, trying to think more logically.

((I mean that would be awesome. But what do you think?))
He reached in the box and pulled out the last few fries and his other burger. He looked at it for a moment before he unwrapped it.
"Well, you never know, maybe we can find you one." He gave her a reassuring smile. He did want to grab it for her, but she was right it would just slow them down. He told himself it would be one of the first things that he would do for her.

((We can say its a community college/boarding school so we can add roomate drama lol. or we can say they just happen to get 'adopted' by super rich people in need of a charity case.))
Luna smiled back at him. "It's all good. I have you, and this burger." she said unwrapping her breakfast for the morning. "That's all I need" she said with a sunny smile before she took a bite.

He was a bit surprised by that, looking up at her curiously. He realized he was just staring at her and he quickly looked down at his food, quickly taking a bigger bite then he meant to. But it was good so he just had to chew for awhile.

((Whats gonna make them want to go to school?))
Luna noticed him staring and went a little pink. As confident as she tried to seem, she still was uneasy with people staring. She just tried to shrug it off, and he seemed to as well. She finished her burger as well, she hadnt realized how hungry she had been.
"Sooooo.. are you ready?" She asked after a few moments of silence.

((They didn't really get to go to school, or high school since they were in the institute. And for now they just need a place to stay, maybe they will get interested in whatever classes they take.))
He finished his burger, feeling a bit embarrassed about it still. But he didn't let on, he got to his feet and nodded his head.
"Yeah, lets get going." He put his hand out to her. They still had plenty of time before it got to dark.

((Snazzy))
"Cool cool" she chirped. She gladly took his hand and walked outside. "The adventure begins!" She said excitedly, trying to keep herself from skipping. A whole new world was open to them now, and there was so much to learn and explore.
