Kaltain and Roland's roles in the Duke's plans are revealed in this book. Thoughts on their actions and deaths.

I felt so bad for Kaltain. She was just a pawn to the Duke who did not care for her one bit. It actually took me a minute to remember who Roland was when he died. Kaltain's death was expected, but still sad. She surprised me with her strength and determination to destroy the Duke.

[Lauren]

To be honest, I thought they both got what they deserved, lol!

Roland and Kaltain made their choices freely and it is only when Kaltain realized that she was being used and manipulated that she had regrets. Her self-sacrifice at the end redeemed her a bit in my eyes, but even then, she was getting the revenge that she wanted.

I also didn't realize who the blond was at first.
