It is revealed that Chaol was involved with Nesryn the summer before he met Celaena Thoughts on her character, their relationship and possible future developments.

I really like Nesryn. She's another strong female character for the book and I think she's a good match for Chaol. She challenges him and doesn't stand down, like Aelin. Hopefully the relationship will continue to grow.
It took me a while, but I also grew to like Nesryn's character. She was the voice of reason when Chaol went off about Aelin. She is strong and stands up to him when he's being an ass.
