Anyway, I got one I had spotted on the website and am very curious about. I have the feeling I should know which book this is, but I think the first clue is maybe misleading me.
- Pet dodos
- Adventure
- Mystery
- Fantasy
- Funny
My plan was to read these books in the month I get them, but I'm starting to feel stressed out, lol. Not sure whether to leave it unpacked until I have the time to read it, or unpack it and see if it fits the ZZ challenge (but if it doesn't, it will probably end up on my shelves).

I've been debating whether to buy "Perilous Passion". A couple of the clues intrigue me (Tudor dynasty, Wars of the Roses, Historical Fiction) but I'm worried it might be a book by (view spoiler) and I'm not a big fan of her. Still, I suppose I could buy it and if it turns out I'm right, I guess I could always request another book.

No. You don't. I read it years before reading the other. And I wish I had never read the other. It's not needed, there is so much about that book that you wouldn't realise you know already that this book will be fine.
I have thought I should go back and reread it now I have read the other to see. I don't want to ruin a good thing though.
We also are calling one of our chicks Pickwick now, as she doesn't make a normal chicken noise, she *plocks*. Like, that is the noise she makes, a soft "plock, plock, plock". This will make sense in time...

Okay, Pickwicks and plocking... I'm intrigued!

I think this can be only one book, (view spoiler) which I've read already. Unless you think this is probably something else, I'll leave it unpacked and maybe I can give it to someone.
I love this idea, especially that you get books sent to your home for 6 months, but it's a shame that of the 5 books I received, I read 2 already. Last time they sent me a new one, but I don't think that's their normal policy. Other than that they're doing a great job, because the books I hadn't read yet were all on my wishlist.
I looked at the books (well, the hints) before I signed up and there was only one I immediately recognized. I emailed them about it and they wouldn't send it to me. I think in the meantime though they've added some new books, and two of those are the ones I received but read already. If I just picked them myself from the website, I wouldn't have picked those.
It would be great if they could change this 6-month subscription a bit, so that you can for example send a link to your GR shelf with books you've read and books you own, and they check it beforehand. Or that you can exclude books based on the descriptions when you're pretty sure you've read it. It would make it a lot more work for the people who pick the books though..

Just praying I've not read them already!

I've not read it either, but it sounds pretty interesting. There was a tv adaptation of it recently too. It was shown in the UK over the summer.

I actually have no clue as to what this could be, unless I am missing something painstakingly obvious. Which I probably am! Lol!

I was tempted by this one also, and am looking forward to reading what you think of it. Maybe you could peek at my bookshelf and let me know if I've already read it. But, it doesn't sound familiar based on the clues provided.

Kewl! Thanks loads!

That was my guess too, Lisa. I read it. I did not have the same reaction as Rusalka.

I cannot tell what this one is either, but I am curious. :0)

I wonder if Debra's ancient cult is (view spoiler)
It sounds like there are some new additions. I should go check them out again.

I contacted them to ask if they could exclude some books, which was not a problem. They also said they would send me two books next time (I didn't even mention I had one I already read this month), and that they would go more off the beaten track.

It does appear to be a polarising book. People seem to either love it or hate it. I will probably read it at some point as it does have me curious, but I'm not in any rush to get to it.

Did you sign up for the subscription service in the end, Peggy?

... I am always disconcerted when I see that. I'm like "oh crap, what has Past Rus got me into now?"
Off to read my own review!

If it is (view spoiler) , I've read it. That would be disappointing.

I actually think I know this one only because it is my all time favorite book. (view spoiler)

I will let you know if you are right once it arrives, Jayme 🙂

I haven't read the spoiler yet. I'm going to wait until the book arrives and then I will take a peek.

Jayme, you guessed right! 😁

Yes, I am happy. It's a book I haven't read and it sounds very good. So all positive.

I have never heard of this author before. I do have one of her books on my TBR list. I will have to wait to see what you think about it, Lisa, and maybe add another. (view spoiler)

I hope you enjoy the book. I think I have read it over 20 times in the last 30 years.

Doesn't ring a bell, so hopefully I haven't read it yet. I'll leave it a surprise until I'm ready to start the monthly challenge. As that one has options for fantasy setting and UK setting, it seems likely that this book will work :)

@Siriusedward: I waited for a few days with my first book, but this one I opened almost immediately ;-) I like waiting and only opening when I actually start reading it, but it's hard!
This one was (view spoiler)[ Nights at the Circus, which is great, as it is one I had on my wishlist but did not yet own. (hide spoiler)]
