"I really do," her grin big and honest. Echo shivered the sweat on her dress cold now, "do you think I could clean off first??" She laughed, "I don't want to look or smell like a wreck. Thanks for helping me calm down and feel better, you're a great help."

Echo hopped in the shower and cleaned off quickly the redressed. She was now clean and awake with her past dream shaken from her memory. "Let's get started," she said smiling. Echo moved a chair to make more space for working on the floor
Days later there was a knock on Echo's door. And then an envelope slipped up under the crack of her door, addressed to her. Inside it was a letter from William, written in beautiful calligraphy as all of his letters were. This one, though it held an offer that would be good news to her, had a sadness but heavy protectiveness behind it. My dearest Echo,
Despite the danger we both toy with without as much hesitation as we should consider, I must ask you to meet me again tomorrow night, the time we usually choose, at the very place we first met and continued to meet in. There are many things I would really like to say to you I cannot bear to write on paper.
Before I go on, I must ask you to burn this letter once you've read the contents as many times as you want. We cannot risk any of this being found. Otherwise, we'll lose each other in one way or another, as you very well know.
I won't waste time trying to patch words together to make your heart sing as I so hope they do, for the more I say, the larger the risk grows. Besides, I'd very much prefer to hand those words to you in person, where you can read them and taste them rather than see them on white paper.
Dear Echo, there are many things I need you to understand. Trust that whatever I say the next time we meet, is only because I want to protect you, keep you safe and guarantee a future for us both. Do not let my words hurt you, for they will never be heard to hurt you in any possible way. Trust me, is all I ask from you. Please do, and please be patient. Do as I say and before you know it you and I will have a brighter future side by side, with no trash to look through for dinner. That I can promise you.
Until tomorrow night, do believe I'll be looking forward to meeting with you again.
Yours always,
William
Looks like Willaim decided to keep her safe above it all, following Louise's advice.
When Echo had returned to her room one night to retire she felt a crinkle of paper under her foot. She looked down in shock to see an envelope under her foot. The note was from William and she opened it quickly and read the contents, she only had to read it once to understand. Echo had been having similar thoughts for some time now, for surely the Prince would pick his sweetheart and she would be sent home. In her mind it was only a matter of time before she could meet with William without worry and be there with him. With out writing a letter of response she set the note on the coals of her fireplace and watched it burn. She would meet William there at that time of night and decided to prepare something to give to him as they continued on the Selection alone.
(( Remember that we have to finish the scene in the Ballroom before arranging the next meeting. :3 ))
(( Hey Hailey! Would you find a picture for the blue dress? Sense Maggie is the maid I want her to have made it and picked it out. If that makes sense....))
((That works! Anything works really. You can pick out what ever dresses you want))Echo walked into her room after breakfast to see the dress and the note. She couldn't stop a smile from spreading on her face. This was the dress she was going to wear to see William for the first time sense the attack and she couldn't wait. The fabric was so silly and soft, the dress was exactly what she wanted
((Don't be embarrassed that's ridiculous! I'll post after Kharo considering my character is currently unconscious...))
(( Here I am~ ))William had his hands full with Echo, so he had to bang his head lightly on the door so someone would open it. He didn't know the maid knew, so he would simply feed the woman his baloney story. It wasn't bad, but it was last minute. Still believable. They wouldn't question the duke.
((Hahaha funny...Sorry))Echo lay in William's arms peacefully dreaming of happy days and no worries.
Kharo ~ The Dark Brigade wrote: "(( Here I am~ ))William had his hands full with Echo, so he had to bang his head lightly on the door so someone would open it. He didn't know the maid knew, so he would simply feed the woman his ..."
((Hello Kharo ^ ^))
"Do not apologize, fair maiden," said William in his 'old man' language. "Please, may I come inside? The poor woman collapsed in my arms and I didn't know who else to go to. You are one of her maids, correct?" He looked entirely professional, his concern mild now, the kind anyone would have for her, though not the sea of worry ruling him, a person who loved Echo dearly.
William nodded, setting her down on the bed gently, making sure she was in a comfortable position. He would have bent down and kissed her forehead, or her lips, something. But Maggie was there...."Yes. She must have been incredibly tired. I was having a conversation with her after running into her in the halls, and this happened a bit suddenly," said the duke, rather good with the lying.
William looked over Echo with longing buried deep on his eyes. "Well, good night to you, miss. Lovely speaking to you," he said politely, bowing his head a bit , then stepping out of the door while closing the door lightly behind him.
Echo minutes later woke up propping up on her elbow. She looked around the room very confused. "Maggie?? she groaned tiredly. Her eyes squinting from the light
Waking up a little more from the endeavor she fully processed what had happened, "Ohh, I forgot to tell him...." She laid back down now thinking of the night and the most recent events and she couldn't help but giggle uncontrollably to herself.
After a walk around the castle and rumors spreading around about the interviews this evening she went up to her room to get dressed. She looked around her closet as she waited for Maggie trying to decide what color to go with. Echo was hoping Maggie had an idea but Echo had disappeared early in the morning before they had a chance to prepare. She was worried Maggie was then off busy with something. Green, blue, or red?? she thought it over and over.
Echo had cried herself to sleep on the floor in front of the door. All night she sat there until morning. It was very early on morning of the interview and she prepared to take a walk in the gardens and courtyard. She stood up and rubbed the dried salty tears from her cheeks. Her throat and eyes swollen, not only had she separated from her love but she clutched the letter from home in her hands. It had been left on the dress by the door for her to read. The letter and William broke her heart and tore her apart, but she had to keep both secret
"Come in Maggie," Echo choked. Memories flooded back to her of home and the night before threatening her with tears
"Gold," Echo replied automatically, that was what she wanted to wear today. It was her comfort, the color, it was shinny like metal, reminded her of her mother, and was simple and not as bright as yellow or red.
Echo appreciated the silence, she needed time to think over the formidable news and her practical breakup. Echo barely spoke up or noticed much as she was dolled up, she seemed to be in a trance with glossy eyes. She knew she was essentially only losing one thing and it wasn't William, if she needed him he would be there. Besides, when she was sent home they could be together.
The clip felt heavy and it pinched but it would have been what her mother wanted. Her lip turned slightly almost in a smile her eyes sorrowful, "I will." She looked away unable to meet her eyes, Echo would tell Maggie soon enough what life decided to through at her
She in fact did not go to breakfast and only attended lunch for five minutes tht day. Echo wondered around as she thought to herself. She found the kitchen an snuck some good to eat by herself as she avoided everyone I'm the palace
Echo was meandering down the all looking back and forth at the different paintings, she thought of her friend Lillia and missed her now that she was gone. She walked up to the door opening it and walked in to find Maggie and tea. Echo couldn't help but smile, she had been meaning to talk to Maggie in a while. Echo called out to Maggie who was setting out tea to alert her of her arrival, "Maggie! I'm so glad to see you." She walked briskly over to the little sitting area and sat in one of the plush chairs.
Echo nodded tearing up a bit, there was a lot on her mind, and not just William. "Most-ly, I think," she chocked on her words trying to hold back tears. She glanced over at the letter from home that was lying on her nightstand. All in one night, she thought to herself.((That's fine :) ))
((Sorry I didn't see it!))Echo smiled at Maggie. "I know." She hesitated before carrying on thinking of the past events. "William and I will no longer be seeing each other for some time, and hopefully I can see him when I'm sent home. We may...pass a few letters, but other than that we will not communicate." Her eyes darkened not wanting to continue. Echo stood up and trudged over to her letter and brought it back to the tea table. She took a sip as she opened it. She skimmed the contents over it again stifling a sob she handed the letter to Maggie.
It read:
My Dearest Plum,
I am sorry that I must tell you this in letter but I have news I your mothers condition. She is not well and is slipping away. Echo, she is now in a coma and we continue to lose her everyday. I'm sorry my dear little girl do know that she loved you very much and would want you to stay and until your time is up. Remember you did this for her, make her proud.
Love,
Your Loving Father
When Maggie hugged her Echo couldn't hold it back any more. Her body shook with racking sobs as tears poured down her face. She had been keeping this in for days without a word, without an emotion, without someone else. "Thah....n..." Echo tried to thank Maggie for all she had done being there for her right now but couldn't get the words out. She wasn't sure how much time passed when her sobs became little whimpers and silent cries.
Echo wiped her tears and pulled slightly away from Maggie. "Thank you," she spoke quietly and scratchy, her throat raw from crying. Her heart was broken and draining of love, she felt empty and hopeless. She wanted to go home to her family, to her dying mother. Echo wanted to talk to William about this as well but would lose him in the process. "I don't know...what to do," she looked down at her hands in despair. Utterly broken and lost. Even though she connected best with her father and brother's without her mom Echo had no idea what her life would be like, or what kind of person she would be. Her mother had taught her so much.
"He probably would, but my dad is right. My mom wouldn't want me to come home because of her. Even if I'm not meant for the Prince. She is just that way," Echo looked out the window feeling very conflicted. She had a pained look about her, that of someone lost.
(( I figured :) ))"I don't know," her eyebrows scrunched in thought. Echo wasn't much of a girly girl and her mom made her go to a spa treatment with her once before some big party. It was really odd and she was pretty sure she fell asleep for most of it. "Sure, I guess," Echo smiled a bit.
Echo blinked as her cheerful happy maid and friend ran about the room and left. After Maggie left Echo sat in her seat for a moment longer before getting up and undressing from her stuffy dress. She climbed into the tub laid back in the warm water closing her eyes. In that moment she finally started to relax. Echo hummed a tune while laying back enjoying the calming water. After a while of humming Echo realized she had been humming to the song William had played in the ballroom when she first ran into him. Echo reminisced than on all the times they had together. She smiled only thinking of the good she had in her life.
((Alright!))Echo climbed out of the tub and drained it. She wrapped herself in a towel looking for her cloths. She called out to Maggie in her room, "I forgot my clothes in there. Would it be alright if I just came out to get them?" She wasn't sure about changing in front of her. Echo was shy and very conservative, she never had sisters to be with.
((Woops, I thought I replied!!! DX Sorry!))She thought for a moment unsure what to do. "Ummm...I'll just come out at get changed. Is my night dress on my bed? I'll just put that on."
Echo creaked the door open looking to the room and Maggie.
(( That's fine!))Echo scurried out and pulled a clean night gown on just for the moment. It may have been morning but there was no reason to get into a fancy dress quite yet. They could potentially get dirty from the little spa day that Maggie and her were doing. Besides, those tight corsets and ruffling layers weren't something you could relax in.
"Alright, I'm dressed." She sat on the edge of her bed all dressed and hair wrapped in her towel.
