Your "wish list" is quite modest Brenda! Well done!
My "wish list" is for books I really want to read (I'll tidy that up next!)

Carolyn | 9836 comments While I'm tidying up my library - does anyone know how to edit the name of a Shelf or remove empty Shelves? I can't find this in the Help.

Carolyn, go to My Books on the top menu, then on the top left you will see Bookshelves(edit) and click on edit.

Carolyn - The books that I have read on your TBR that are under 4 stars:

The Camel Club by David Baldacci 3 stars
Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman 3 stars
He Said/She Said by Erin Kelly 3 stars
The Last Thread by Michael Sala 3 stars (but I wouldn't bother with that one!)
Dead Again by Sandi Wallace 3 stars (but you need this one if you're going to read the series)
Beartown by Fredrik Backman 3 stars (I've only really liked one of this author's)
The North Water by Ian McGuire 2 stars (disliked this one!)
Never Alone by Elizabeth Haynes 3 stars
Place of Many Birds by Jan Merry 3 stars
Murder in Mississippi by John Safran 3 stars (didn't like much)
Kingdom of the Strong by Tony Cavanaugh 3 stars
The Big Sleep by Raymond Chandler 3 stars
Pop Goes the Weasel by M.J. Arlidge 2 stars (I don't read this author any more)

Heaps of 4 and 5 stars from me on the others I've read of yours. But, we're all different!! lol

Sally906 | 86 comments I've set up by wish list to not count to my total - anything on my to read shelf I own.

I cant understand why I should put a book that I want to read one day on my too read shelf

message 107: by Ace (new)

Ace (aceonroam) When I first joined GR, I didn't know how to manipulate and add shelves Sally, and I wanted to add books (all the books evidently), so I would have a list of books I want-to-read when at the library catalogue. You can see no. of pages, GR rating etc. when deciding what to borrow.

This is how my TBR got so huge. The other day, I sorted my list by DateAdded and started removing books that have been on there from 2014 and 2015. I had no idea why I had added some of them but I must have believed that I would get through them all eventually!.

Sounds like me - I discovered shelves and how to set things up and rearranged everything.

I am now pruning my physical shelves at home - books I have sitting there for years and I am never going to read now - not even sure why they are there. The local charity shops have done very well

Nice one. As much as I love books, I hate cluttered unread shelves. The op shop customers will be thrilled.

I got this on Overdrive for my husband, who will literally read anything, and never DNFs a book. But after a couple of chapters he said 'I can't read this'.
Now, this make me more curious to read it and many others have LOVED it. I think it will gross me out though.

Haha!!! Sounds like hubby has the right idea ;) Happy reading then Ace!!

Diana (secondhandrose) | 73 comments I've pruned to about 200 and plan another cull soon. Realistically I don't think I'll find many of these in Australia. When I mentioned this on a children's book forum I've been part of for over 10 years, 3 members in the US offered to look out for me. How good are Book people?

Sounds really positive Sally. I'm also slowly weeding my physical books that I've read that I don't need to hang on to for any reason (3 star read, not a gift, not terribly memorable, not wanting to re-read etc.) I've been adding them to the free little library I started in the lobby of my apartment building. The James Pattersons were very popular indeed!

Wow, that's awesome Diana, hope you can track some of them down this way. Book people are the best!

Oh I just deleted it completely, that's all. If something is really good or I find it, I'll read it :)

Also if I'm doing a challenge I browse my bookshelves and see if i have books to meet it, and often will end up buying a some second hand. Browsing for books I need is fun.

I should have a look for you when I have some free time! Good idea Tracey :)

Suz | 4426 comments Hello Tracey. Don't get rid of Our Souls at Night. It is the only one I can comment on. Your list is so short. I did this with my tbr which was 1500 or so. Now it's closer to 2000! Maybe I should do this exercise again?

I agree with Suzanne. Our Souls at Night is too good to miss out on.

Oh my gosh Suzanne, yours was 1500? Woah, that would stress me out. Let us know if you want us to look over your list of 2000 ;-)
