SOLVED. This is a Science Fiction Book in which a scientist? figures out a way to use three colors of gluons (Red, Yellow, and Green) to expand the Planck limit. [s]

Once the Planck limit is expanded, he can do anything that he wants because below that limit, physics gets strange.I read it in the 1990's, in the North East of the USA. It was a paperback, not that expensive. I remember expansive descriptions of the various colors as they were used in the book, so when the yellow gluons were used, there was a vivid descriptions of things that were yellow, such as butter and daffodils..
