Hi! I've just started getting into anime. So far I've watched The Wallflower, Fruits Basket, Black Butler, and Ouran High School Host Club.

I posted this in another thread. Since this we now have an anime section I figured I'd repost and expand my list a bit. From the New World: A slow burn series set in a distant future in which everyone has developed TK. It takes a few episodes to get going but once it does it doesn't stop. Features a fascinating race of rat people who steal every scene they're in.
Fate Zero:Think Hunger Games except with summoned historical figures. Fate Zero features an amazing cast and has quite a few philosophical moments about what it means to be a leader. I recommend Fate Zero to any fan of history or fantasy. Seriously, don't miss it.
Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood:An epic anime with a charming cast of characters, detailed magic system, and complicated, well thoughtout lore. I love this series. FMAB features a lot of the things which turn people off of anime. (Annoying Jpop intro, and occasionally over exaggerated characters.) Once you become desensitized to the bullshit, Full Metal Alchemist will suck you in, and won't let go till the very end.
Psycho Pass:Can't say much about this one, but if you like dystopian thrillers give this one a watch. Lots of blood.
Space Dandy: Space Dandy likes to pretend it doesn't give a shit, but it's actually extremely well crafted, with some shining character moments throughout. The art style is FANTASTIC and it features the most imaginative cast of alien characters I've ever seen. Despite being a comedy, Space Dandy also features some rather mature and complex Science Fiction Ideas.
Adventure Time: Speaking of shows which present themselves as carefree comedies but are actually meticulously planned epics, ADVENTURE TIME is one of the best shows I've ever seen. The later seasons feature gorgeous art, and fantastic characters with real depth. Nothing is wasted in Adventure Time, NOTHING.
Madoka Magica:Ewwww whats this? A girl anime? Eeewww girls are gross. Shut the Fuck up. Madoka Magica is written by the same guy who wrote Psycho Pass and Fate Zero and is a deconstruction of Japanese superhero tropes. Darkly depressing and chillingly terrifying, Madoka Magica throws all its punches.
Berserk: Berserk comes with two disclaimers. Disclaimer A: The first story arc is the best and the series very quickly loses focus from there. Disclaimer B: THIS SHIT IS DARK AND HORRIBLE. LITERALLY THE DARKEST MOST DEPRESSING THING EVER. The art in the manga is breathtaking, even though the story wanders.
Kill la Kill:I dont know how I feel about this Anime, but I watched all of it. Takes the absurdity notch up to 12, and parodies sexualization in anime. Clothes are literally evil.
Ok... I need to stop now and try and get some real writing done.
