✩ Please be sure to induce yourself to the group so we can get to know you and become friends in the group and have wonderful chats together :D

Don't be shy about asking someone to friend you either (they may help you to reach your goals on some reading challenges in TJR or in other groups). There is no guarantee that they will friend you back. But you will never know unless you do ask. And I think most will friend you, unless they are unable for some reason in their life.

And may I say it's nice to know you and welcome to the group :D

✩ Hi all, it's Jazz. I started this group and have a brief bio in "Meet the Mods" thread.

I am an expert needleworker (after 50 years I better be or if I not I must stubborn. Truly, I think it's both). Been doing art just as long but art is subjective so being called an expert is also subjective or as they say, it's in the beholder's eye. I feel that everything is connected and adds to the whole including the creative process.

I have taught different subjects including art, needlework, digital sewing, and some computer work over the years. I have learned as much or more than what I was teaching.

I was hearing impaired as a child and late in reading for enjoyment. But once I started to get into the stories, I improved my reading in 6 months. However, there have been times in my life that I haven't read as much as I would like. I have been reading since one of my teachers gave me a collection of classic scary stories. It has taken me longer to get into writing but I have come to enjoy writing as well.

I love reading a variety of books, both fiction and non-fiction. The genre I tend towards are fantasy, sci-fi, paranormal, humor and romance.

OK, I have bared my soul in a short comment box now it is your turn to do as well :D

Elsbeth (elsbethgm) | 7 comments Hi everyone!

Too bad the Bookworm's Cocoon is no more... But I have to admit I wasn't that active lately either... Sorry!
With this group I'll try to better my life.

So, here goes:
I'm Elsbeth. I live in the Netherlands, close to the German border. I'm married (10 years this summer and 25 years together!). We have a son, who is 14. We also have a daughter, who is 11.
We have five budgies and 2 rabbits.

I love reading Historical Fiction and Cozy Mysteries the most. But I also enjoy Fantasy, Historical and Contemporary Romance and Fiction in general. Last year I also read a few Poetry books, which I was surprised to realize I enjoyed.

I work in a small bookshop. Which now, due to lockdown, is only partly open. Only the PostNL- and the ING bankcounter are still open. Which makes it hard, because people see all the stuff we are not allowed to sell to them... Only after they call or mail, than we may deliver it to them.
So last week I stayed at home, since there is not enough to do for all of us.
Since it is not at all going well with corona here, I expect the lockdown to continue for at least a couple more weeks..
I miss going to the zoo, the cinema or a museum!
But, of course, that is not the worst of this time...

I wish you all good health, great books and a lot of fun in 2021!

Good to see you Elsbeth. Nice you work in a bookstore, not so nice with Covid. I think I would have a hard time working surrounded with books constantly wanting to buy and read them with a pile stacking up around me. :D

I might have a solution to the museum, in a way. My mom calls her Instagram account her private museum. She just loves it (I do too) looking at all the art work and styles from all those she has friended. You can check out my account if you want (hopefully you can check it out without an account. I know I was able to see some before I joined.)

Hopefully you be out and about soon.

Thanks, Jazz!
I took a look. I love your little wisdoms!

I know what you mean about wanting to buy them all! I have a subscription to Bookchoice, a Dutch ebook membership. Every month you get 8 ebooks for 4 euros. You can't choose which books you get. But they usually are recent books. So when I walk through the shop I think: Hey, I think I have this book, hey, I think I have this authors former book etc. I still have loads I haven't read, yet... :-)
