As the investigation expands and horrifying answers begin to emerge, King’s propulsive story kicks into high gear, generating strong tension and almost unbearable suspense. Terry Maitland seems like a nice guy, but is he wearing another face? When the answer comes, it will shock you as only Stephen King can.

Finished... (view spoiler)[ I will be honest the whole time towards the end I was waiting for the other shoe to drop. I am glad that Holly is able to help Ralph through his nightmares. I don't know what I would've done if King would've left this all creepy at the end. The whole Ralph Loving Holly in the end was a good distraction, better than if the Outsider hadn't died. Up to ch17. Gets us into the focus on the crime pretty quickly. Lots of opinion voiced on Coach T and the small-town mentality is depicted well.

Part two. Confused. What happened? Logic suggests he can’t be in two places, so heaven only knows what’s coming next.

39% - footsteps and cantaloupe section is showing signs of going odd/supernatural. Still none the wiser as to what actually happened.

Visits-odd, very odd. No logical explanation and it is creepy as anything to not know what’s going on.

Macy’s section...Holly’s conviction is pretty convincing, even though what she’s saying sounds crazy.

72% - the visit to Te As is moving things along well, but I almost don’t want to find out more.

Finished. Review on home page. Creepy. A touch bizarre, but very readable.

(view spoiler)[Wow this book is a rollercoaster! It grabs your attention from the first page and doesn't let go!

The only word that can explain everything is: shapeshifter! (lol) Other than that I am very, very, very lost. How could he be in two places at the same time? And also, what crininal would be so dumb to be seen by so many people whilst commiting a horrible crime? It just doesn't make sense!

It hit my right in the feels when the little boys mother died from a heartattack. This family is already going through enough, but to also lose your wife/mom? Thats so sad. :(

(view spoiler)[ So Holly has showed a movie and has explained about 'the outsider'. Basically, my prediction was right, he is a shapeshifter. Ofcourse some detectives are not sold on this, but I am guessing they will be soon. What I am most curious about now is how everything with Jack will end, the cancer the outsider has created + what he has to do! (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ So, the first half of the book was a 5 star read for me, the second half only a 3. It felt like such an easy way out. When I guessed it would be a shapeshifter (at like 20%) I was actually making a joke, but I guess I was right from the start. I'm just so sad that it ended this way, the first half was so Interesting, I was hoping for a strong plot! (hide spoiler)]
