Jennie Louise (jennielouise) I'm using blogspot to create a new bog and there are some things I'd like to add:
Links bar, Widgets, Social networking links etc

I'm not sure how to do this so any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Here is my blog so far - any tips/advice would be so helpful!

Jackie - Fire & Ice Book Reviews (jackiefireicebookreviews) For the social media links I use HTML. I would be happy to show you how, or do it for you. Do you want them to lok like mine? If not, just show me the ones you like from other blogs/ websites, and I can help you.

Take a look at mine. http://fireandicebookreviews.blogspot...

What kind of widgets do you want?

Wow your blog is really cool :) I have added some of my own but I think I like yours better... If you don't mind showing me that would be a great help!

Jackie - Fire & Ice Book Reviews (jackiefireicebookreviews) OK, so here is the code for my Twitter button.

Twitter <

You don't have to know what all of that means. Just find the social media icon that you like, and use a image hosting site like Photobucket, and copy the HTML code they give you once you upload your icon.

The only thing you will have to do is adjust your image size which is pretty easy, and add you Twitter URL.

Example.

Twitter URL: https://twitter.com/ms_jackie92

Once you have your URL you just paste it into you HTML code.

<*a href='♥https://twitter.com/ms_jackie92' target='_blank♥'*>
<*img alt='Twitter' src='http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-oMNqv0rmwf8...' title='Twitter'/><*/a><

Where I put the two ♥ is where you paste in your link to your Twitter, Facebook, Goodreads, etc. Just remove the stars and the hearts.

Once you have that done, go to your blog, and go to Layout. Add a Gadget From the Gadget list, select HTML/ Java Script. Once the boks comes up, paste in you HTML code.

Did that help? It can be a little confusing.

Jackie - Fire & Ice Book Reviews (jackiefireicebookreviews) If you like my icons that I have, I can give you the code for all of them, and you will only have to add you URL for each of them.

Once I've found the icon I like what does Photobucket do? How do I add the html code to the icon and what do you use to resize the image?
Sorry I'm new to all this stuff so please bear with me...

Jackie - Fire & Ice Book Reviews (jackiefireicebookreviews) Photobucket gives you the HTML that you need. Like you see above.

Add the width like you see below

Example: <*img src="http://www.goodreads.com/image..." width="40" height="100*"

That would be a tremendous help, Thank you so much! I just need to create icons for tumblr and instagram!

Jackie - Fire & Ice Book Reviews (jackiefireicebookreviews) Play around with it until it works for you blog. I don't really mess with the height because it can get a little messy with that.

Jackie - Fire & Ice Book Reviews (jackiefireicebookreviews) From my icons which ones would you like? I was so lost when I did this for the first time, but photobucket is my friend!

I don't really want to create an account on photobucket - is there any other site I could use like PicMonkey?

I found this website when I was looking for a tumblr image and I was wondering if I could just use the icons off here? http://www.softicons.com/
This might not be anything remotely similar to what I'm looking for but I'm just wondering...

I wouldn't mind your facebook, twitter, good reads, email and google plus icons (Sorry I don't mean to take all your icons)
Then I can just create my own tumblr and instagram icons :)

I don't real..."

I don't know how you could get the HTML. You could send me the images, and I could get the HTML from photobucket for you?

message 14: by Jennie (new)

Jennie Louise (jennielouise) Yeah that might work... I can sort out the rest on my blog like linking the codes :)
How would you like me to send you the images?

So, just to check, where do I put these links and in what HTML code do they go into? Or do I go onto my blogger and add a new gadget and just put this code alone?

message 17: by Jackie - Fire & Ice Book Reviews (last edited Aug 06, 2014 11:33AM) (new)

Jackie - Fire & Ice Book Reviews (jackiefireicebookreviews) Use the code above. Add your social media links after the <*a href="

Example: <*a href='♥https://www.facebook.com/pages/Fire-a... alt='Facebook♥' src='http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Xc6DJqeeX8A...' title='Facebook'/><*/a>

Your links goes in between the two hearts.

Jackie - Fire & Ice Book Reviews (jackiefireicebookreviews) send me the links to the images. If you have a problem with the code here, let me know, and I will email it to you.

Jennie Louise (jennielouise) Tumblr: https://cdn1.iconfinder.com/data/icon...
Instagram: https://m1.behance.net/rendition/modu...

I tried pasting the google plus icon link but nothing happened... it managed to save but the icon didn't appear with my other icons so I'm not sure I've done it correctly...

Jackie - Fire & Ice Book Reviews (jackiefireicebookreviews) I will give you the code again in a bit. I am not near my computer anymore, so I only have my phone.

Jackie - Fire & Ice Book Reviews (jackiefireicebookreviews) Hey, do you still need the code for the social media icons?

I have some at the moment and I think they'll be alright for now:) Thank you for all your help though! Especially on how to inert my own link in the HTML code aha

Erin Lynn | 144 comments I used to do all this stuff on MySpace a long time ago, so I was still really familiar with image linking. I'm just on the hunt for cute social buttons that match my lime green, blue, and turquoise theme.

Jackie - Fire & Ice Book Reviews (jackiefireicebookreviews) You're very welcome! Just let me know if you need help with something :-)

Erin Lynn | 144 comments How do I add a banner to my header section on Blogger?

Everything I try fails. I have the banner ready to go, but it never shows up on my blog.
