Zombie story idea: looking for your advice

Hello,

My name is Brendon Bertram.

I'm looking to write an anthology series on my blog and I'm would like your help generating some ideas.

The premise:

After a zombie outbreak, nukes are launched to obliterate all of the major cities. Survivors need to survive not only the hordes of undead, but now the nuclear fallout, but it's not just the survivors that the radiation is affecting.

The execution:

The story will focus on multiple groups of survivors. These groups will gain new members, lose members, split up, group up, and some might get wiped out completely. Anyone and everyone can be a candidate for the chopping block.

I'll update this thread when the first story is available, until then, I will be responding to the replies.

What do you like or dislike in stories, particularly of the zombie apocalypse variety comment below and let me know.

I like some humor in dialogue even if it's a story that is meant to be scary/horrifying.

There will be tidbits of romance between survivors, but most won't end well.

As for descriptions, that isn't really my forte, my writing tends to focus more on pushing action forwards at the sacrifice of description, but I'm always looking for ways to improve my writing and this would be a great opportunity to do just that.

Once the stories are out, I would love to get your advice on my writing.
