Thank God for Al and Ruth. They were the two best characters in the whole book and they were wholesome angels.

(About 75%) - (view spoiler)[ OMG, I just can't stand how close they get to finding her only to have something happen and they miss her or she misses her chance to run, etc. I am also getting a little tired of Ella. Is that wrong? As much as I want Sally out of her situation with Frank, I almost don't want her to go home to Ella.

Finished - (view spoiler)[ Well that was a sucky ending. I really need to lay off books like this. I don't feel good after reading them. Maybe it is because I am mom and can't help but worry about my own kids in these situations, or maybe it is just plain sick how some humans exploit others. I don't like the story, yet I can't deny it was well written. I felt awful for the characters and was invested in what happened to them. Rating this one is going to be difficult.
