Nita nodded then asked, "What book is it?"

"So You Want to Be A Wizard," Kinsey said. "Great book."

Nita nodded, no longer wanting to talk about books. "What year are you?" she asked.

"Third," Kinsey said. "What about you?"

"First." Nita said proudly.

"Cool," Kinsey grinned and offered her a fist bump.

Nita accepted the fist bump and blew it up at the end, like she always did.

Kinsey grinned wider. "I like you, Nita."

"Why?" Nita asked. She stroked her chin as if she had a beard.

"Well, one, that," Kinsey points at her. "Two, you seem very fun. Three, your name is Nita, so that's a plus."

Nita smiled brightly at Kinsey. "I like you too, Kinsey."

"Of course you do," Kinsey said. "I'm joking. I'm not that vain."

Nita smiled up at Kinsey.

"Usually," Kinsey added.

"How vain can you get?" Nita asked.

Kinsey grinned. "You don't wanna know."

"Yes, I do. Now spill." Nita ordered. Her eyes lit up with excitement.

"Not very, actually," Kinsey said. "I act like I'm vain a lot, but I'm almost always joking."

Nita smiled. Then she looked down and kicked a rock a few feet ahead of her.

Kinsey kicked a rock too.

Nita kicked another. It skittered along the bridge until it just barely got farther than Kinsey's. "Ha!" She yelled triumphantly.

Kinsey laughed. "I was unaware that we were competing."

"We weren't until just now." Nita replied.

"Okay," Kinsey said, kicking another rock.

Nita kicked another. It landed a few inches short of the one Kinsey just kicked.

"We're not done yet." Nita said.

"Oh?" Kinsey asked.

"Okay," Kinsey kicked another rock.

Nita kicked another rock that landed barely farther than the farthest.

"You win," Kinsey says, looking at the rocks critically.

"Huzzah!" Nita shouted.

Kinsey grinned. "I accept my loss, O Queen of Rock Kicking."

Nita bowed and blew kisses.

Kinsey laughed and curtsied. "Your wish is my command, your majesty."

"In that case get me a copy of your great, 'You Want to be a Wizard' book please." Nita said.

"My pleasure," Kinsey said, grinning at her.

Nita smiled. "Pleasure doing business with you."

Kinsey curtsied again. "Of course."

Kinsey yawned. "Well, I should probably go. I've got to study and stuff." She made a face at the idea of her homework.

Scarlett walked across the bridge with her cat not too far behind, glad to be outdoors, away from the other Slytherin girls. She didn't really feel like she fit in with them.
