Here we get to meet River's mom who is also like a second mom to Arie. She's an amazing spirit like Ariana and you can see how much Arie lives her. Questions start to arise when she discovers River has been keeping things from her. It makes us wonder if his intentions are honorable.
My favorite scene in this chapter is at the end when she has an electrical experience with a person unknown at this point.

Well, you always want the good guy to win, or I do. I think being women and growing up we were read fairy tales where the prince always prevails and wins the hand of the princess to be. We have a harder time envisioning the girl with the guy we think couldn't possibly truly love the girl, like the good guy. It would be interesting to actually read a book where the bad guy gets the girl, the girls love changes the bad guy for the good and they live happily ever after. But honestly if the love a good woman/ man can do all that it would be worth the adversity and trails the would go through to find true enduring love, but listen to me, I'm just a mush sap!!! But I think everyone should have someone to love and they love them back it changes your whole outlook on life.

Sherry I believe that a good author will eventually reveal (like in "real" life) that "bad" people weren't always like that and still have it in them to be good. All characters should be "likeable" even when hated. I don't know if that makes sense...LOL! But really when you read a book and hate a character because of how well developed they are it means they have affected you. When a reader truly hates a character because they are shallow or whatever it's usually because the author failed to make them well-developed, showing their vulnerable side, as well.
