2% ok, correct me if I’m wrong, but this is what I think is going on (view spoiler)[So I’m thinking since the first chapter is called “firsts” every other section is going back and forth between her first kill and the first time she had sex. I’m not typically a huge fan of repetition, but I’m assuming Jay decided to use it to symbolize how natural and similar the two experiences were to her. (hide spoiler)]

I agree. I'm confused as he is writing from one point to the other point. Hopefully, it will get better later in the book.

I'm up to 12% (view spoiler)[ I'm thinking that at the beginning of every chapter must be like a memory or something of what Mia had to go though and the next half is actually what is happening at the moment of time.

I'm slowly trying to figure out what is happening but I am starting to like this book. I like the little notes that he puts in some of the pages. Some of them are funny. (hide spoiler)]

We don't have to read to keep in pace with everybody. Just read what you can and post what you can. I also have a job so my time is usually after I get off and sometimes the weekend (if i'm not to busy). Just try your best.

I’d actually started reading this a while ago, but took a break because I was having trouble getting into it. Now that I’m starting to read it again, I find it a lot more entertaining and hard to put down. I think it was mainly just the repetition of the first chapter that made me skeptical of the book the first time I’d started to read it.

Yeah, I'm having some trouble with the footnotes, but i really am enjoying the book. Taking a little break from it as i'm trying to read another book for a another BR.

So, it takes some time to get into the book, especially because it's like reading Shakespeare (which is hard) but in another language. Jay Kristoffs writing style is sometimes too advanced or flowery which makes it hard for me to understand it (english is not my first language).

I'm eager to know what happened to her brother this last 6 years and to her mother. Also... i get the feeling that maybe her mother was an assassin too? Tric seems like a great guy and i hope they make a great team :) I kind of love Bastard for biting her ;) - also: so.... Nevernights are like the twilight or the "nights" in the northern regions, where it doesnt get dark in the summer months? (hide spoiler)]

I am sure she will be a good enemy and she will become a friend in the end or die tragedly. We will see :D Also, i'm sure that the last sentence in the last book will be something like: Kingmaker(Mia), Shahiid of whatever! - like Mouser and the other Blades (hide spoiler)]

The footnotes are kind of annoying but now i only look if its relevant for the story otherwise i skip them completly :D
