Nevernight (The Nevernight Chronicle #1) by Jay Kristoff - Restarting September 1st 2022
Are we just going on our own pace and update when we can or do we have a schedule?

That's fine with me. I'll be starting this tonight as well
I'll try to read 60 pages unless the pages end in the middle of the pages then i'll continue to read till the chapter is done

I'm currently 1.4% done and totally confused. Took me a while to understand that the 2 guys she is talking about aren't the same...
@Jacquelyn: totally agree with your 2% there :)
@Michael: Nice to finally "meet" you :) Hope you are now motivated to read ;)

I agree. I'm confused as he is writing from one point to the other point. Hopefully, it will get better later in the book.

I'm only going to read 50 pages a day.
I'm up to 12% (view spoiler)
I will try and read another 50 pages tonight. Hope everyone is liking it.

We don't have to read to keep in pace with everybody. Just read what you can and post what you can. I also have a job so my time is usually after I get off and sometimes the weekend (if i'm not to busy). Just try your best.

I’d actually started reading this a while ago, but took a break because I was having trouble getting into it. Now that I’m starting to read it again, I find it a lot more entertaining and hard to put down. I think it was mainly just the repetition of the first chapter that made me skeptical of the book the first time I’d started to read it.

Yeah, I'm having some trouble with the footnotes, but i really am enjoying the book. Taking a little break from it as i'm trying to read another book for a another BR.

But i liked the one with the pigfiddler ;) - get your brains out of the gutter :p

I’m ok with the footnotes when it’s funny, but sometimes they are way too long and it pulls me out of the story.

The footnotes are kind of annoying but now i only look if its relevant for the story otherwise i skip them completly :D

Thanks for picking this book. I know its hard to read but it really gets better and more exciting. Keep going :)

Reading from the 7th of September 2018

Daughter of an executed traitor, Mia Corvere is barely able to escape her father’s failed rebellion with her life. Alone and friendless, she hides in a city built from the bones of a dead god, hunted by the Senate and her father’s former comrades. But her gift for speaking with the shadows leads her to the door of a retired killer, and a future she never imagined.
Now, Mia is apprenticed to the deadliest flock of assassins in the entire Republic—the Red Church. If she bests her fellow students in contests of steel, poison and the subtle arts, she’ll be inducted among the Blades of the Lady of Blessed Murder, and one step closer to the vengeance she desires. But a killer is loose within the Church’s halls, the bloody secrets of Mia’s past return to haunt her, and a plot to bring down the entire congregation is unfolding in the shadows she so loves.
Will she even survive to initiation, let alone have her revenge?
