However it refuses to acknowledge it

Because the ASIN is already taken by another edition.

Have you checked all the editions to see if that cover is one of them? (I know it's a long list.)

there are only 30 Kindle editions, non with this cover

There are none Kindle editions with the exact same page counting either, but I changed my review to an edition with a closer counting.
