I'm glad to see you again, OMalleycat! I've been away from this for a long time, too. I can't really help you, but I'm learning how to add a book to my reading record.I hope you are having a great summer! I'll look for you again.
Nancy (NJ)
Well done Ms. O'Cat! It will all come back to you Jan! Absence made us miss you, not the brain go dimmer. 😊OMalleycat wrote: "This is a test. It's good to see you! One of my favorite parts of Goodreads is keeping a record of the books I read. I even managed to mostly keep up with it while being absent from the book discussions.
And I'm having a great summer because my vacation will last forever! I retired in May. I used to start getting depressed on July 4 because it meant summer was half over. I'd frazzle myself trying to get everything done before going back to school. But this summer I just smirk and do what I want at the pace I want.
Like practicing up on my posting skills!
Jan O'Cat
I feel sure that you will really enjoy retirement. There are so many things to do and see. You can pick and choose what interests you most. I well remember dragging my feet through summer hoping to slow it down to keep the start of school again from coming so soon.

I can't imagine bored. First there will be trying to catch up on reading (hah), then movies, sewing, housekeeping, yard work, cooking, visiting with friends, and so on. So far I'm finding that I really don't have enough time to keep up with my retirement activities!

Sherry wrote: "good to "See" you again!"Good to see you also, Sherry. It's remarkable to realize it's been 9 years since we had to move to Goodreads, plus all the years on AOL before that, and so many of us are still together. Good group!

Yes, it's true Jan, Barry and I enjoy trading barbs online. But quiet as it's kept, he's actually a pretty nice guy IRL......
Carol wrote: "So glad to see you, Ms. O! You nailed the HTML book link. The book cover is easy also."Hehe. I was trying to get a book cover on the middle one, but somehow messed up. I figured it out before posting my Determination List!

Dan visits.
Since we're talking about an old (scratch that - a long-time friend), who is now on the Retired Bench, I'm asking: who is willing to trade being older for the benefit of being on the Retired Bench, and who would do anything to avoid it? As for me, I've been on it for 20 years this June and wouldn't trade it for anything.
Dan, I'm thoroughly enjoying retirement and am glad I finally lived enough years to join you on the Retired Bench.
Dan and Jan: I am very glad you are both enjoying retirement; getting older does have benefits! Someday I'll join the retired bench!
