SOLVED. Novel set in Ireland centered around letters between main characters. [s]

Most of the book is just letters between a guy and a girl from childhood to adulthood. Its driving me crazy. I listened to a book on tape anywhere fom 20 years ago to ten years ago. I think the title has the two main character's names in it. And one of them moves away at some point but they keep writing.
