LibraryCin | 9443 comments There were 78 different titles that we collectively read in June for "Magical Realism".

I don't know how many people read these threads that I post with the stats, but I wonder if I could ask a favour, at least for those who do...

If you could please also add the author in the title of your topic, that would be very helpful for me when I do the shelving.

I want to be sure I'm adding the correct book to our shelf, but it's rare that only one book appears in a search when I search only the title. I want to confirm with the author, but don't want to do the extra clicks to open the thread... even then, sometimes, it's still not obvious, and I have to click further to figure it out.

Thanks so much!

Nicole R (drnicoler) | 7919 comments Me too! I love seeing how many books we read!

message 4: by Susie (new)

Susie I love to read your monthly post Cin! I always try to add my books to the shelf. Sorry if I sometimes fail to do so.

message 5: by Ellen (new)

Ellen | 2469 comments I am always interested to see how many books we read for the tag every month. Good job, Cindy!

message 6: by Jen (new)

Jen | 1545 comments I read them too. Also you can see how many views each post gets when you see the list of topics inside each folder. It lists number of
Comments and number of views.

message 7: by Barbara M (new)

Barbara M (barbara-m) | 2331 comments I have a thing for stats! I always read this if I see that its been posted. Sometimes I miss seeing it and don't think to go looking. :-(

Sushicat | 805 comments I love the stats - thanks for all the work you do to keep things tidy.

Thanks, Kate! It actually takes quite a bit less time than it did at shelfari, but it does help to have the author to confirm that I'm adding the correct book!

No worries! That's why I'm there to check! :-) And thank you for remembering (even if it's most of the time!). The author in the title of the thread is just much easier/faster for me to confirm I'm adding the correct book!

Of course, you're right! I guess I tend not to look back unless someone has commented!

If you miss seeing it, you can always see them all listed with stats here, as well:
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

(I guess you'd still have to go looking to check here, though!)

All previous tags are listed, and if you look at the 2nd message in that thread, I include all the stats there, as well. So, that's nice for comparison!

message 13: by Hebah (new)

Hebah (quietdissident) | 675 comments I enjoy the stats! I also try to contribute to a broad spectrum of titles so I try to go beyond the first few pages of titles in a tag to find TBR books that fit the theme but that not everyone else might be reading :).

message 14: by Jgrace (new)

Jgrace | 3196 comments I try to remember to shelve my books when I post the review. Would it help you if I make a note somehow that the book is already shelved?

You can if you'd like. The best place for me is in the title of the thread/topic, as I usually don't open it up while I'm shelving.

No worries if you don't, though. It's still not too bad to do the search and double check the tag has also been added (I do double check that, as well, so you only need to note it if you've also added the tag!) Thanks!

Meli (melihooker) | 3813 comments First time I've noted the posting of stats, but I have only been here a month or two, love it!

Any idea what was the least popular tag (least titles read for a tag)?
I guess there could be many duplicates so not necessarily an indication of an "unpopular tag." Seems to be a lot of overlap for this month.

That's one of the great features of the group bookshelf. The number of titles read is indicated next to the name of the shelf.

I have never noticed this! lol. Seriously, how many times have I looked at the PBT shelf or my personal shelf and this fact has just NEVER REGISTERED. I think that may some something about my attention to detail....

I shared a link above that lists all the previous tags and the number of titles read (you are correct, though - it doesn't include if multiple people have read the same book).

Jgrace said this: That's one of the great features of the group bookshelf. The number of titles read is indicated next to the name of the shelf.

But that will only be for those tags since we arrived at GR. The link above will take you all the way back (except for our transition month from shelfari to here). I will take a look, but going from memory, I think the lowest numbers of reads tend to be the months where the tag is a place. (China, Ireland, etc...)

message 22: by LibraryCin (new)

LibraryCin | 9443 comments So, this was our lowest month:
December 2013: India - 38 books read

We had 39 people read for China and (surprisingly!) Time travel. Ireland is just above 40.

We also had a bit of a PBT "heyday", I think in 2009, 2010, based on the stats!

Oh. There are a few tags listed with an *. Those are usually for some specific "celebration" or something where the admins chose a few extra tags on those months. They are usually around 20 (or fewer) books read for each of those.

Meli (melihooker) | 3813 comments Oops, sorry, I skimmed right past the stats link.

Thank you!

Looks like "strong women" and "female author" were wildly popular, cool :)
