⇢ history (view spoiler)[blake grew up in a fairly well off household as a single child to two unsparked mundanes in chicago. he was never really a street kid but he did occasionally hang out with them - he occasionally hung out with a lot of people actually. none of them really clicked with him. he thought they would as he grew up, he thought maybe one day he'd find someone, a girl maybe, a squad, just anyone, but he soon found that most people he surrounded himself with weren't compatible in the slightest. and when he thought they maybe were, it turned out they were just nodding along and pretending to understand. you see, blake grew up with an innate ability to see. he understands both the big picture and all of its smaller components. he just gets things that most people dont, his blunt and straight forward manner of speech often puts people off, and when it doesn't it's usually because their drunk or high. the only way he can bearably handle social contact is by slowing himself down to their speed, experiencing the world from two notches down. he fled from home at a young age to go to the academy, he hasn't left since, he hasn't spoken to his parents either. so so hard to live up to the expectations everyone has for them, but never really succeeds. Ever since she received her letter when she was eleven, she's worked to become the best student she possibly can, although her grades are still nowhere near straight As.

Jaime is, however, incredibly good at shapeshifting — to the point where people aren't sure if she was born looking like this or if she shapeshifted to look this way. And she loves this theory, goes out of her way to promote it and leave hints making people second-guess their assumptions — even though it's a complete lie and she has it on the authority of her mother that she couldn't shapeshift until she was five and the first thing she turned into was a rock.

don't call her liana. that's the first — and in her view, most important — thing to know about anna. the second is that despite carrying a vine around with her everywhere she goes (often wrapping around her shoulders and being used as a hairtie, and with its roots safe in a bag she made for it may years ago) and being in elderlock house, she is very down-to-earth and will not hesitate to slap you with her vine if you say anything stupid.

while anna gets excited easily, she also has a short temper, and this makes her difficult to get along with if you're slightly annoying. many people don't get along with her because they say something stupid about her vine — which she doesn't particularly enjoy having to lug around everywhere, particularly since it's growing.

the idea of having to one day plant her vine somewhere and live there is one anna doesn't want to face any time soon. she likes her relative freedom, and she hates being a hamadryad. normal dryads can live wherever they choose, so long as there's trees, but she's stuck near this stupid plant for the rest of her life.

WHEN RUNE WAS BORN, nature saw fit to warn the world of how he would grow up to be. A snake in every aspect of the word. But the child was quiet, unassuming, and didn't socialise well — and when he arrived at Addermire, he was sorted into Brigmore in the hope that he would become a little more outgoing and better at socialising.

That hope backfired spectacularly. While Rune is certainly more outgoing and much better at socialising, he's also manipulative and dangerously ambitious. He will gladly serve a cause that furthers his own purposes, and would sell people's darkest secrets in an instant if it guaranteed him something he wanted. He seems friendly, all smiles and politeness and apparent loyalty, but that can change in an instant.

While Rune isn't particularly aggressive, he's not above using his snake venom to get his way — although he usually has an antidote handy once they've given him what he wants. He prefers to trick people into telling him things by promising that he's trustworthy, but when all else fails he will resort to whatever means necessary.

Caring for others is her way of ignoring her own troubles by delving deep into the troubles of others. She knows people have it worse than her life was. She knows what it's like to be down in the dumps, or upset. So, due to this, she is very understanding and not seen as someone who's judgmental, but instead as someone who people can easily talk to about anything. However, this can be a downfall as well, for it often affects her own health as well, as she does not often talk her own problems out and often keeps them to herself. It's very hard to distract her as well, especially if she is involved in her work. So, if you try talking to her during school hours, or when she's doing her homework, and she doesn't respond, don't take it to heart. Snap your fingers. Say her name louder. Whatever bad vibe thrown her way, or whatever happens, Carly still manages to stay hopeful, and look forward to what is to come next. She figures, if you're optimistic enough, it's bound to happen sooner or later. Thus, it's hard to get her down or discourage her. She will not be knocked down easily. Though, her hopefulness can become sort of irritating, especially if she's constantly looking for a brighter future, even if it's not likely that there will be. (hide spoiler)] ⇢ ♥: (view spoiler)[Carly grew up in a small, 2 bedroom house with her mother, father, two older brothers, and one younger sister. She does not remember much of her family, as she had left to come here when she was 12, but she remembers how often they struggled. While her sister often slept with their parents, being she was 4 at the time, and her two older brothers shared the extra room, Carly often found herself sleeping out on the couch.
Even as a young child, Carly was very optimistic and always so bright. Her eyes were always filled with curiosity, and she always tried her best to help people, even those who did not want it. However, due to this, it made her very easy to manipulate.
Carly had found out at the young age of 7 that she had powers. Her siblings and parents knew, but they always made sure that no one else would. Her mother always said it was because the others wouldn't be as accepting of them. But, even to this day, she always remembered how her father looked at her. He was frightened. Discouraged. Hateful towards her, even. He always did his best not to interact at all with her. So, it should of came as no surprise that once they had had another little girl, he was quite excited about it.
Carly was the girl in the shadows. Her older brothers were handsome, and athletic. Her younger sister was the adorable one. And herself? She was the one her family often locked in her room during party events, and at night, to ensure she never got away. She could not learn to control her powers on her own, and her parents dared not delve deep into the matter to find someone who did. She was alone. The darkness was the only friend she had. She was a prisoner to it's embrace.
Carly's brother's, on the other hand, completely despised her. The entire family was born Mundane, and she was not? Perhaps they were a little jealous. Though, Carly was always too Naive to see that. They often manipulated her. They'd get her to use her powers to steal, claiming she wasn't stealing, but 'borrowing' the stuff. They'd get her to pull pranks on her as well. However, often times than not, her powers would react badly to almost every spell she did. They were powerful, and this young girl could not control them. But her brother's still found it hilarious, nonetheless.
When Carly was home alone at the age of 12, she had gotten a letter inviting her to here. She wasn't sure if she should leave. Her family might still need her. But, she also knew she was a danger to them if she stayed. She needed someone to teach her how to control these.. Powers. And so, she made her way here, and has been here since. (hide spoiler)]

Often times than not, she uses her good looks and "charm" to achieve what others cannot. And, if that doesn't work, she uses magic. But normally, it does. You'd think they would of been poor, considering how much her mother spent on buying drugs, but her mother also sold drugs, which is what kept them sort of in the middle class of things.
Mary was never really close to her mother. Her mother was usually always out of it, due to the drugs, or was off doing God knows what. So, Mary was often always on her on. She had learned at a young age how to keep secretive and lie. Her mother always lied, and encouraged her to as well, so she never really developed the feeling of guilt when it came to lying. Actually, she got more of a sickening feeling in her stomach whenever it came to telling the truth.
Due to always being alone, Mary, at the age of 10, had gotten into the dark arts. She wanted someone, something, to keep her company. Something that would be around so she wouldn't be alone. Being alone. That was the scariest thing yet. It's always been her biggest fear. So, she used her dark arts to speak to 'other worldly' things, and in return, was taught how to do spells by them. When she was 13, she had learned about this world. About how there were others like her, and how they'd possibly be able to make her stronger. And so, she ventured out to Syracuse. She didn't join the school at first, however. She first had joined the Defacto, before getting a letter to join Addermire. She wasn't going to, at first. But, upon further discussion with the other Defacto members, they had determined that it'd be best if she joined, because it'd be easier to get more people if they had someone on the inside to do so. Tired, sad, and lonely-those are easy words to describe her. Weary with life, desperate for change, but far too scared to make the first step alone. Psyche has tried, constantly, to get past her fears and anxieties without relying on others-due to her pride-but often finds herself having to turn to someone.

Not exactly patient, but tolerant to most things, Psyche is ready to deal with life's small problems. But when it comes to big things, she's more like... "Get that shit away from me."

Not "selfish", but certainly not selfless, Psyche is just trying to stay alive and stay away from trouble. All she wants is peace and quiet-but she also wants someone who she can love and trust, and who will be there for her. But Psyche, with her insecurities, has zero confidence and tends to be salty, sassy, and snappy towards others.

Immediately seen as a cold, apathetic, and a resentful girl who only just wants out of... Everything. Just a little peace, a little silence-that's all she wants. Which can make her desperate, and irritable ((which can cause a spike and lack of control in her powers))

Not sadistic, but a bit of a masochist-though Psyche struggles with this side of her and knows when and if something is bad or unhealthy. She also is a trace depressed and just a bit lazy-but that doesn't make her any less intelligent or cause her grades to waver from straight A's. Psyche is also very wary, hesitant, and cynical about the honesty and sincerity of others.

𐩘 Better off than most, but it wasn't like Psyche was swimming in money 𐩘

Psyche was raised by her mother up until age fourteen, because that's when Psyche's powers really kicked in.

Witches are naturally jealous, and selfish, so it wasn't a surprise when Jasmine became wary and infuriated about her daughter's increasing powers and strength. In little to no time, Jas was making attempts to kill Psyche. But she was smarter than that, and eluded each of her mother's attempts until, finally, Psyche just ditched home and headed for Addermire.

However, she didn't make it there, and instead ran into Cecily, who seemed nice. At first. Then Psyche, she didn't know how it happened, became trapped in an abusive relationship. Being used and manipulated, and then dumped for a week before Cecily would return, begging for forgiveness. And it would just... Repeat. Over, and over, and over again until she finally had enough and blew up-magic wise. Cecily's cause of death had been an unusual amount of water trapped in her lungs, no one knew how that'd happened-just Psyche.

Finally, she made it to Addermire at age (late) fifteen, tired and desperate for a change from the tight spot she'd been trapped in for a year of her life. Psyche prefers not to speak of or even think about that time.

☞ auset didn't exactly have an easy upbringing. both of her parents were sparked, her father was a demon, her mother was a gorgon, and it was like the marriage of scorpion and a snake. every other moment they were going at it, either shouting or physically breaking out into combat, which eventually led to auset searching for different means of comfort to cope with the situation, considering both of her parents were quite cold. auset wasn't traditionally beautiful throughout her younger years, she didn't grow into her looks until she became a junior, so before then bullying was pretty much commonplace. she had very few friends, and the ones that she did have didn't make a whole lot of effort to stay in contact with her. for as long as she can remember, people have distanced themselves from her. at least, the humans did, the mundane. they'd always treated her lesser even without knowing what she was. she spent her childhood wondering what the hell was wrong with her - when in reality it was society. more importantly, it was the mundanes. when she arrived in syracuse via escort, she was absolutely astonished by how welcomed she felt. near immediately she had friends, she had potential love interests, people who sought after her - because they were like her. they were so much better than the mundane. she didn't have to hide. but it was her exposure to the supernatural world that led her to come to the conclusion that they were all just better than the mundane in general. that the mundane ruled their plain and yet they were so much weaker than the sparked. she was approached by a recruiter at a party less than a week ago, she's been devoted to the cause ever since.
(hide spoiler)](view spoiler)[ with an extreme resolve and a rather radical view of what is right and what is wrong, auset tends to get a little narrow minded. she believes in her cause with every fiber of her being, she'd kill for it, because she was personally wronged by the mundanes throughout her adolescence, and they were a major source of stress between her parents - which ultimately led to them fighting night after night about when they should move or if someone knew. she's terrified of self revelation, and while she would never admit it, she's only in the rebellion for sovereignty and revenge, she wants to feel needed, defacto makes her feel useful in life, it gives her meaning, a purpose. where beforehand, she felt without direction. her first impressions are typically a little intense, she's got a sharp way with words, she's judgmental and she doesn't have time for people who want to waste it. unless she is personally intrigued by someone - odds are she wont even give them the time of day if they approach. in relationships she's a bit dodgy, it takes her a long time to open up, and though she's been with both men and women, she has no particular preference for either. she likes the excitement of the initial relationship, but has some serious commitment issues. amelia is one of those normal looking thirteen year olds, a big blob of curly hair that seems to always be placed on her head. he stands at a whopping 5'6", almost reaching her brother. dang him, she's only five inches short. she's not all that strong, but she's strong enough as she says so. she of course has her werewolf powers just as her entire family does but there's one thing different about her. we'll get to that later. amelia's never one to give up, neither is she one to give in. she will give in eventually, just give her a clear reason and you might have a go with her.

born four years after her brother and not far off from her younger sister born a few years later, amelia was a werewolf just like all the rest. her father was a werewolf himself and it seemed to the children that their mother was a psychic. she wasn't all that powerful, but she seemed to have this ability to know when the children were doing something that'd get them into trouble. it always seemed to amelia that her mother would come rushing in at the right moment, just to stop them. it always seemed to her that being a werewolf just wasn't for her, so she started trying to find a cure for this so called "disease". her brother tried to stop her, help her even but everytime he did she'd just yell at him. and yell and never stop yelling. she thinks of it as a mistake even to this day.

each time she tried to cure herself, her usage of powers always became more and more painful. so painful that if she even tried turning into a wolf i'd hurt like hell. literally hell. she won't stop trying though, she's not one to give up or to give into other things so easily. being that it hurts so much some say if you see her in wolf form coming at you, you better run. or try and stop her, let's see if you'll succeed. you might, or you're just lucky.

after her brother was sent off to this school amelia had heard of, she begged her parents to go see him. she had always loved hanging out with her older brother, even if he did "older people" things. they of course, disagreed until she turned eleven. then, at that age, they finally sent her there. she hasn't made very many friends, neither has she hung out with her brother that much, but it seems to her that this school will be a great time to loosen out. and maybe, find that cure she's been looking for.

Hazel grew up barely knowing any boundaries, being free to go where ever she wanted, so long as it were in the forest, so when it came to her curiosity, she always was allowed, encouraged even, to act upon them. Hazel is like a puppy, or a toddler. If not under constant watch, she can easily put herself in danger when it comes to going where her curiosity lead her. However, she's a great house master. She makes sure to only put herself in danger, not the other Elderlocks. She's very protective of the other Elderlocks, and would never put them in danger the way she does to her own life. She has to be, with a curiosity like hers that has already put her life in danger multiple times and probably will put it in more danger in the future. That's one thing she is not. Hazel is NOT selfish. She does not think about her house only. Well, except for the rules that was made by the school itself. She does not add on a lot of extra rules. Hazel is like the mother of the house. She literally acts like a mother. Again, not with rules, but she cares a lot about her house and does her best to make sure they're all well, healthy and have eaten. She is easy going however, in the sense that she is laid back and relaxed when it comes to ruling over her house. So long as they all ensure they keep safe and out of trouble, she allows them to venture out on their own. However, just because she does this, does not mean she doesn't keep an eye on them at all times. However, how she does this is unclear, and could just be a rumor going around in the house. (hide spoiler)] ⇢ ♥: (view spoiler)[Hazel does not know who her parents are, and have never sought out to find them. Hazel was raised in the middle of the woods by a Witch named Rita. Rita never told Hazel of her parents, but Hazel always knew that she was, in a way, adopted by Rita.
Rita always knew that Hazel was a Dryad, and had been nurturing her skills since she was as young as the age of 5. She always called Hazel her little "Nature Wielder" or "Nature bearer", being Hazel was always close to the trees. She always has had the ability to speak to plants, and it's said that they speak back to her as well. The plants have always protected her, and she, them.
Being she is a creature that Rita has claimed the Mundane world wouldn't understand or accept, Hazel has been home schooled all her life. Due to this, Hazel never had any contact with the humans. Rita had few rules set out for Hazel: She allowed Hazel to venture out to her hearts content, so long as she 1. Never left the forest, and 2, always returned at bed time, which was around 10 pm. However, there was one more rule that Rita was extremely strict about: Never have contact with humans. They were dangerous creatures, that would either use Hazel's powers for their own, burn her at the stake, or torture her for her secrets. Rita always told Hazel horror stories about people who experienced these things in the mundane world, so Hazel was always cautious not to get too close to them. However, Hazel had always been a curious girl, so although she kept hidden from them, any humans who dared enter her side of the forest, she always followed them and watched them closely. People always fascinated her. She always wondered where they went, or what they were like. They had no abilities, that much was evident in Rita's stories, and yet they were more dangerous than any of the creatures that existed out there. But, she never allowed her curiosity to get the best of her. However, later on, she began to break that rule. She ventured closer and closer until one day, she had stumbled upon a huntsman. He was around her age at the time: 19. He seemed nice enough. She remained vague, telling him she lived on the border of the village with her mother and father, but she always refused to allow him to take her home, claiming her father was strict and did not know she was out and about, for she always left when he was at work. This was a lie, of course. Her first ever lie. But she feared him. She feared he'd kill her, and Rita, if he found out what they were, or where they lived.
However, she was drawn to him. She'd sneak out to go meet him on the border of the forest, where the town and the tall trees met, and would sit there, watching the stars and talking for hours, before she'd sneak back home and up into her room before sun rise. However, she was always tired in the mornings. Perhaps this is what set off an alarm inside of Rita, for she had caught her, after a month of this happening.
Rita had locked Hazel in her room, so that she could not venture out the night after she had found out. Hazel is not sure what truly happened that night. All she knew was the next morning, Rita had came back and handed Hazel a letter to come here. They needed a house master. She was unsure whether or not to go, however. That was when Rita had explained she went to go let the boy know Hazel needed sleep, and he had threatened to send the town after them and take Hazel away from her home. Hazel could not allow this to happen, so she immediately accepted and came here. (hide spoiler)]

At first glance, Drew is someone who can only be described as calm and cool. He has a tendency to be shy before getting to know someone, showing more of an introvert side of himself than anything. Through just meeting anyone, he will be a rather quiet, smooth-talking man, keeping most conversations interesting but at a minimum if necessary. He does this because he is incredibly worried about what people think about him, and underneath that shy, cool boy is a much wilder side of him. After truly getting to know someone, or actually getting comfortable around them, he becomes a lot more talkative, a lot flirtier, and a lot more ambitious to further their friendship. Once breaking out of his little shell, he will always try to be a sort of a showoff whether it be through showing his chiseled figure, or just simply talking about how much money he owns or the massive parties he could throw with his immense amount of money. He has no real self-control when he’s out having fun, and is rather prone to getting into accidents.
Despite this horrific nature, he is still as friendly as can be to those who treat him the same. He hates losing friends, thus causing him to be quite cautious about what he talks about when around them, or specific people. He always thinks about his friends over himself. You may think this is selfish, which it totally is, but he’s just trying to keep all the friends he can.
Drew will also do just about anything to be the center of attention. He loves throwing parties just so people can talk about it before and after the event. Another thing; he loves to spread gossip. If any drama happens, it’s always as if Drew is the first to hear about it, and he is always the first to spread it to any open ears. In other words, Drew is your wannabe popular teenage boy. He will also use nearly any excuse just to take his shirt off

Drew, like his father, was born a Djinn. However, unlike his father, he was born a smaller Djinn. Growing up, Drew and his brother, Connor, never really had a mother. Their mother had left days after Drew had been born, and left a very young Connor and Drew to be tended to by their constantly drunken father. Making matters even worse, Drew was hated by his father while Connor was like a shiny new trophy to him. Drew was never truly parented, unlike his older brother, which led him to grow up like a rebel. He was never home, he got into drugs and alcohol at a young age, and never attended school until he was seventeen. Drew’s father always neglected him, only because he wasn’t a stronger, larger Djinn like his older brother had been. This also led to Drew becoming a large attention seeker.
When Drew was only about five years old, his father made it very clear to him that he hated him, making sure to “Get that through his thick, monkey skull.” And Drew did. Growing up, he was used to being his brother’s shadow, never getting the recognition Connor did, and never getting the same things Connor had. He was only really ever given things when Connor didn’t want it anymore. Tired of living like a shadow, he grew into a life of partying while his brother received the utmost training from his father and an at home school tutor that his dad hired- Specifically for Connor, of course. However, despite how much Albus hated Drew, Connor loved Drew like family should. Constantly spending time with him while their father was off getting drunker somewhere in the city.
After countless nights of Drew leaving his house and not coming back well into the daytime, he grew a gambling addiction when he was about eleven. He became very fond of it actually, gambling on just about anything he could. Whether it be sports, poker games, or even just him and his newfound friends betting on the most random things imaginable. And, I guess you could say Drew was an incredibly lucky man, building up a near fortune with his constant bet winnings. That is, until reality punched him in the face. His father had been hospital-ridden due to severe alcohol poisoning. Drew put every penny he could into helping his father’s recovery even after the way he’d been treated his whole life.
Drew doesn’t even know why, but this moment kind of changed the way he looked at his own life, and even the other’s around him. He decided to enroll in this academy, knowing there could be some sort of future ahead of him here, just knowing that he had to turn his life around somehow.

Tom is nothing short of internal. He keeps to himself, and rarely ever expresses any emotion or feeling. He is always keeping to himself, and is always thinking of ways to better himself, or create something that’ll continue to amuse him. That’s right; he loves to create things aside his vampiric nature. He will actually go as far to call himself a builder with his exceptionally bright mind. Included with his creative nature is a very silent Tom Black. He will do whatever he can to keep a conversation to a minimum, never really caring on what people have to say- except for his fellow house members, which he is surprisingly close with. He always keeps to his studies, seldom taking his eyes off one of his textbooks, nonetheless, thinking of something other than his studies.
Like stated earlier, Tom is brilliant, excelling in anything when it comes to academics; and he is not afraid to let you know that either. When it comes to his own abilities, or his own intelligence, Tom is never afraid to either belittle you based on some stupid comment you’ve made or isn’t bothered to let you know how talented he is; physically and mentally. Tom is also rarely ever seen with someone outside of Void, sticking particularly close with those he most relates to. With his fellow house members, he seems to be a nearly different person. Sticking to his quiet persona, and brilliant mind, he loves to make conversation with them. And even despite these biased feelings based on people outside of Void, he has really great social skills.
When it comes to problems outside of personal issues, Tom really doesn’t care what happens to people- besides himself of course. Like stated, he only shows real emotion and care for those closest to him and isn’t afraid to leave others in the dust while he and his others thrive. This is, by far, Tom’s coldest and darkest trait. He feels it’s what makes him unique. Tom also stays away from parties unless someone from Void- which is never- basically begs him to go along with them. Tom is also a braggart, also stated earlier. Sticking to passive-aggressiveness, he’s never scared to let you know how much better he is than you, if challenged.
Contrary to his dark manner, Tom despises when people attack others or bully them for no apparent reason. He’s never hesitant to stop a situation in which calls bullying. He hates to see other students harassed for any reason, unless they provoked the one ‘bullying’ them, which, to be honest, Tom would have no idea about.

Tom, growing up, was always a rather mischievous kid. He would really do what he wanted, when he wanted- at night of course. His parents never really minded what he did either, as long as he never got into any trouble. His parents never really disciplined him, and without any real discipline, he would often get into trouble with the police, or with the grumpy folk who would sit out on there porches at 11 o’clock at night. How was he not caught for being a vampire you ask? He was just good at acting human… or anything that wasn’t considered ‘evil.’ Despite this juvenile attitude he had, he loved to read; he loved to fill his brain with any knowledge he could. And this was somewhat hard for him only because he was a vampire. He could never go out when all the stores were open, which actually led him to his juvenile actions. He would, surprisingly sneakily, break-in to these bookstores solely just to ‘borrow’ these books. And borrow him he did. He would always return the books to the store in the same manner he stole them; he would break-in and put them back on their respective shelves, only when done with them. And when he wasn’t sleeping during the day, he was using his imaginative mind to build things purely to keep him interested until night time.
He would build just about anything, and because of this building interest, he also spread his burglaries to more than just bookstores. He began to steal from hardware stores, general stores, or just about anywhere he knew that sold something interesting. And not long after, in his local neighborhood in Manchester, a bounty was set out for Tom. Though, it was just more of a ‘Be on The Lookout for someone breaking into stores at night and stealing shit.’ Of course, Tom’s parents knew it was him the one doing it. I mean, they already knew (and didn’t mind) that he always left and came back with various books… but never tools and supplies. Did they mind this either? Of course not. Without a scolding or anything, Tom was let off the hook. However, as tensions rose for various store owners across the city, Tom scarcely ever went out to steal things anymore. At this point, he only went out to hang out with the other neighborhood delinquents, or the ‘normal’ kids of the neighborhood.
Tom never did have any intention of ever going to school, believing that all the books he had read- all of them varying from non-fiction to Chemistry textbooks, and even mythical story books- were more than enough of a substitute for education. But, in some way, Tom felt that he was different than most kids- besides the fact that he would always have a burning sensation in sunlight, or besides the fact that he was stronger and faster than any other being that wasn’t a vampire or some sort of magical creature. After months of just basically doing nothing besides going out with people every night to do stupid shit, he decided to enroll at Addermire Institute at the age of 16. He regretted it, of course, though he knew he needed it. In his first year at the school, he talked with almost nobody, only caring to make a couple of friends in Elderlock; his house at the time, sticking only to his studies really. However, shortly into his second year, he was contacted personally by the Void Housemaster, Oliver Leventis. Explaining shortly but with great detail that he noticed Tom was different and that he would be joining Void.
After joining Void, Tom has no real interest with anyone except those in Void, only keeping things to himself or the others in Void.

☞ lacy demarco has had a pretty normal life. she'd like to say so anyways. her parents separated at a relatively young age, she can't quite remember when, which is burdensome really because she also can't remember how she felt about it. she feels like she should feel a lot of things actually. she grew up in oakharbor washington, a region of torrential downpours and grey skies, which certainly didn't help her rather mellow mood as she grew up with her father. he worked two jobs, he was an incredibly devoted man, and though lacy admired him she also felt an extreme disconnect. he was hardly home, and when he was all he really did was sit around and watch the newest baseball game, drink a couple of beers with his guy friends from work. she didn't mind, she didn't particularly care about much. he put a roof over their heads and food in their mouths, so it wasn't like she had room to complain. he wasn't a strict father, he let her go out - but she never really wanted to until she turned sixteen.

lacy was born sparked, but she did not develop powers. had she not gone to that party in late october, maybe she would have still been living with her father. but she did go to that party, and she did get far more intoxicated than any mild mannered, existential sixteen year old should have - and when she woke up she'd been bitten by something. gradually as days went by, she noticed significant changes. she was paler, she was always tired, and maybe she would have brushed those off as hormone imbalances or something puberty related if it weren't for the neverending hunger.
months passed and it only got worse. she lashed out at her father - who was only trying to show concern for her. time and time again he would bother her, bickering about how she should go see someone, how she needed medication, how she needed to eat.
he was already dead when she awoke from whatever violent stupor she'd fallen into. she was personally contacted by an addermire council member after having spent several days locked in that apartment with his body.
she's currently seeing the counselor and on campus psychologist at addermire quite regularly.

あ* gorgeous. studious. passionate. nimronym soora is a young woman so focused on her studies she forgets how to live. she's obsessed with perfection; anything less than that from herself could cause her to break down. she's a teacher's pet who excels at everything she does, completely ignoring the toll it takes on her mental health. she forgets how to "people" and can come off unintentionally cruel towards her friends, whether it is saying something too honest and downright ignoring them when they are talking to her- especially if she is working on a project. she has aspirations and will stop at nothing to achieve them. however, she is a rather nice girl if you can peel her away from her work- funny, forward, and somewhat down to earth.

▻ one describing kylias would say she is fair. Although she has the ability to have normal hair, she prefers her snakes. They keep her company. Her snakes are large, and dread like. They are all pitch with light purple under bellies and eyes. The longest ones reaches down to her mid/lower back. Her skin, similar to her snakes, is dark brown, nearly black, with the shade of purple freckling along her face, shoulders and knees. There are some scales occasionally visible on her skin as well, in the shape of curved diamonds. The position of these change daily, though if she is overloaded with stress (or possibly having a panic attack) they can run rampant along her skin; becoming and unbecoming in lines all around her body. She has long legs, and stands at about five feet with an added six inches. Technically her snakes could make her taller but she considers that cheating a bit. Her eyes, if she were not blind, would be a similar purple to her freckles and snakes. However, due to her disability, they are instead and clear grey, and glossed over; almost making her irises the same as the whites of her eyes. Though they will still move like normal. Her nose is curved inwards, wide, and is slightly on the smaller side. Her lips are in between small and large, and perfectly fit in between her nose and chin. She has softer cheekbones, and smaller ears, which often hid under her snakes. Her shoulders aren’t incredibly lean, and her arms don’t show much muscle, either. But she doesn’t need overwhelming strength to be deadly. Her hands are a bit small, and at the end of each finger are black sharp claws with purple on the tips. She makes sure to keep them at a reasonable length.

▻ kylias is what one would call quiet, calm, composed. At the least, this is what she is on the outside. To most she will seem like a smart student who studies for most of her free time. She always appears to have a neutral expression on her face, with the little exceptions of times when she smiles or gets angry. However most people don’t know she is much more than that. In reality, she isn’t actually studying. She’s is researching all she can on her powers and the place she visited. Her anxiety about her powers compels her to do so almost all the time. She yearns to do more things besides that. She likes to go out with close friends, enjoy nature, people watch, things that get her out of the textbook. She can sometimes come off as creepy or off-putting when she people watches, however. To sense everyone around her, she needs to focus quite a bit. And to get a good look at someone in particular she has to hone in on where they’re sitting or standing and such. This can come off as people staring, which from a gorgon isn’t very comforting. Kylias is smart and witty, and is usually good at judging one’s character. She is very perceptive, and can often tell when someone is lying to her. She can be wrong from time to time, and because of this she is very careful to confront people about it. If she enjoys the person’s company she would very much like to keep them around; and so she doesn’t want to lose that from such an accusation. She cares deeply for her friends and family, and wouldn’t let anyone hurt them without getting through her first. Though this is a side you wouldn’t seem of her unless you were apart of said group, really. The same could be said about her anxiety. She doesn’t much like that part of her, and tries to keep it a secret from those who don’t know her well. She is nervous she might kill someone if her anxiety gets too high. She can be suspicious of others depending on what she senses from them, and can be wary of those she doesn’t know. Though as she gets to know a person more, she will open up a bit and become more warm to them. Kylias can be a bit harsh when she gets angry. She truly does have a snake’s tongue in arguments, and her words can be a venom of their own. She acts depending on how heated the argument is. She doesn’t always mean what she says, which can later lead to regret. Again, she doesn’t want to lose the people she cares about, whether it’s their life or their relationship. And she will do her damndest not to do so.

▻ kylias was born during dusk, just upon the cusp of night and day. It was a shock once she opened her eyes, revealing the white glossiness that laid behind them. A blind gorgon. Most had thought it unheard of. And there she was. Though soon it was discovered she still held the power of petrification when she petrified the plush they had her cling to. It took her a long time to get adjusted to this new world she had been thrust into. As she grew she was able to identify any person by their voice and smell. Her mother smelled like poisonous flowers and honey, with a soft voice. She also learned to recognize each of her snakes individually. Her father smelled of crisp smoke and burning wood. His voice was deeper, but still was kind. She lived in darkness until she was three years old. Suddenly she had this overwhelming urge that she couldn’t identify. She tried to focus on it but couldn’t really. It was like a phantom. Until suddenly she felt her body break away from her in most painful way. She was in a dark ocean, and suddenly drowning. She didn’t know where she was or what to do. Then suddenly she was back in the family living room, though the floor and anything that was on it in a one foot radius was now turned to stone. She barely talks about it with anyone besides close family. After that day she began to see things differently. She felt objects around her, and could sense their shape. And this allowed her to perceive the world, in a way. As she grew she was more easily able to sense things, and find her surroundings. She hasn’t dared to go back to that dark ocean she remembers so hauntingly, though it does visit her in dreams from time to time. Those are her worst nights. Once she got her acceptance letter to Addermire her parents readied for her to leave. Everyone was excited. As she grew more throughout her years she tried to gain more of an understanding of her powers, and the dark ocean. The search on the ocean didn’t have much headway for a long time. Though she did gain knowledge on her ability to splinter to it. Though she still doesn’t dare attempt it again. Since she was three years old the only thing she had seen of the horrid place were glimpses she caught in nightmares and panic attacks. She doesn’t know why would happen if she kept herself there, and doesn’t want to try.

despite her slight fear of them, margo idolized her parents. especially her mother, who was a known healer in the city she lived in and had traveled beyond portermount into the overworld, using her abilities on the mundanes, which is what margo ultimately wants to do.

✾ PERSONALITY
Amaria was always one of feirce ones. Ever since she was a little girl, she would fight off monsters under the bed, bullies around their village, and when she got older, thieves that would try and steal from the vendors. Never one to sit and look pretty, she often got in trouble for not acting like one of the regular children. She always spoke her mind when she felt something was wrong, and unhesitantly acted on those gut feelings. While she did have many suitors that would gladly take her hand in courting, and marriage, whenever she agreed to join them on a knight to watch the stars, they would always come back with complaints. Soon rumors started to spread about her, 'A beautiful nightmare' and 'uncontrolable flower' was the gist of it. Simply because she refused to be a trophy wife. Most of the time, Amaria found herself riding near the outskirts of town to get away from everyone, for a horse couldn't judge you for wearing trousers, or deciding to go without a bra for a day.

✾ BACKGROUND
When Amaria was born, things were immediately looking down. Her mother, a run away servant from a master who would beat her and, her father a mere stable boy, met when they were both just barely considered adults and instantly fell in love. They moved to Midred, and soon gained a life amoung the people. Xavier and Constance, the town sweethearts, they certainly weren't wealthy, but they had each other, and their love that grew like an everlasting flame. A sparked and a mundane. In pure bliss. Soon after, Constance unsurprisingly became pregnant, the couple was joyus, and celebrated day and night until their special little flower was born. Amaria brought the two much happiness, and for a short time everything was perfect. They lived comfortably, with Xavier going out to make their living, and Constance staying home and taking care of Amaria.

Then one day the unwelcome showed upon their door. Constance's old master burst through the town on horseback, trampling anything and anyone in their way. Amaria was completely dazed by the beautiful creatues they rode, before being forcefully pulled away from the window and shoved into a closet. At the time, she didn't understand that they were trying to protect her, though through a little crack in the doorway, she saw both of her parents successfully murdered by the same man who had so gracefully flew in on the noble steeds. Completely overtaken by grief, she began to wail, catching one of the guards attention and yanking her by the arm. Brought before the man who had unhesitantly murdered innocent people, her parents. He brought his dagger to her thigh, planning to cut her apart peice by peice, yet he was interreupted just in time and brought to the jail, but not before leaving a scar on her upper thigh. Her entire left leg bloodied, and her parents on the floor.

Ever since then, Amaria swore to herself that she would never let another innocent get harmed, not while she could prevent it. After the whole debacle, a kind woman, also the baker of their town, Ms. Porter adopted Amaria. After her own children had passed away, along with her husband. Amie spent the rest of her time Midred as a protector of the weak, and protector of the defenseless. Learning the hard way that it was harder to fight in the corsets and skirts that felt so restraining. When she was around the age of twelve, she found a small letter about the side of her hand, looking as though it was made out of the finest silver. To her horror when she read it, she knew that if she had accepted it, she would be taken away from Midred. Even though the town treates her horribly, it was her home. She could never leave Ms. Porter alone.

Soon enough, Amaria grew up. Though while she still kept up her trouser wearing, horseback riding, and bra-less way, more and mroe of the village men found her attractive. The women as well even if they denied it. Many would try and catch up to her on her rides along the country side, before getting tired out by Thunderstorm, her noble steed, or showing up at her house only to get rejected. As far as Amie was concerned, Thunderstorm was the only guy she needed and then and there she swore never to settle down with anyone. Life for a short while was perfect. That was until Ms. Porter found the letter that looked as though it fell from the heavns. Amaria felt so guilty on her ride back from town seeing Ms. Porter holding the letter in her hands, she knew it was time to leave. They both knew. No matter how much Amaria wishes that such a fate had not befallen her, the eagle feathers left in her hair were not easy to hide.

MINHYUK IS UNUSUAL. For one thing, they're a nonbinary incubus, and while there's no problem with that they're not exactly common. It makes them stand out, and they don't like that. But the more unusual aspect of Minhyuk is one that people usually don't notice unless they know what Minhyuk is. The expectation most people have is that incubi are overtly sexual. And sure, Minhyuk occasionally does have to feed, but aside from those few occasions when their hunger is enough to need dealing with, they're mostly quite normal.

THEY DON'T TALK MUCH. When Minhyuk is focused, they talk very little, and when they're around people they're not confident about they also don't talk much. Minhyuk has a habit of getting excited about things they care about, and talking nonstop, but years of being told to be quiet or being met with disinterest have taught them that it's better to check if people mind first — so they don't get hurt, and so they don't annoy anyone.

THE THING with Seokie is that he's not who he is. Probably confusing, but not really. He was brought up a certain way, but he doesn't really like acting that way. Like the feral, snarling beast he was supposed to be - according to his family. Sure, he does as he's told and behaves the way they want, but it's an act that, frankly, gets very tiring. Enough that he might stop once in a while. But it always gets back to his family and they aren't ever pleased with finding out he's making friends with those of the sun influence or bumping elbows with those of the shade. He has a very specific place in the family hierarchy as the runt and to be honest - he probably shouldn't be alive. It's a wonder he's survived as long as he has in a family like his.

Seokwoo's a very open individual; honest, really. But honest in the way a kid is, with no filter. The first thing on his mind usually comes out his mouth, which can lead to trouble - but isn't that what he's supposed to want? Some people who don't know any better would just assume he's fishing for a reaction rather than him being genuinely curious about something. Maybe it's the way he words things ( with an excessive amount of cussing ) or maybe just the way he comes off in general ( thanks, ma. ); someone's gonna take offense to him and then he has to deal with it. Which usually involves getting into further trouble.

He comes from a big family. It's easy to get overlooked when you have seven other siblings who are far more...fitting to what a child is to be for a parent. Seokie, from the moment of taking his first breath, had to contend with being inadequate. Not aggressive enough, cried too often; it got worse as he got older. To his parents, he wasn't much more than a disappointment. To his siblings, he was a free punching bag. And while any relative would gladly say that "getting beat up by your siblings builds character," he would very strongly like to disagree. It just leaves you with broken bones and a battered self-esteem.

At some point, Seokie stopped thinking about what it was that made him different and focused instead on how to be what they had wanted. And so the expected persona was established. His parents weren’t quite as disappointed, but his siblings saw it as a more reason to mess with him. They figured their treatment of him before had been working and thus to make him better, they’d take it up a notch.

Everyone thought it was working, really. If he exhibited even a slightly different response, there were usually seven other people coming after him for it. He got used to it. He dealt with it, and soon enough he wasn’t that big a disappointment. And then he entered school, only to be placed in the void house.

Looks like it didn’t work.

✾ PERSONALITY
They are one in a million. Outspoken when simply being silent. Living like royalty, yet having no sign of wealth what so ever. Brave, not fearless. More mature than most adults that you run into, but afraid to act like a so called child. This is who Kris is. They have been like that for as far as they remember, yet technically that isn't a very long time. Closed off and cold to the touch, Kris won't talk to you ever. He isn't mute, and can formulate a sentence better than most, but chooses not to speak. Often seen glaring at others with a look that could kill, and ready to pounce at any moment, he avoids interraction as best as possible. They don't plan on making any changes anytime soon.

✾ BACKGROUND
Life as far as Kris can remember is absolute torture. They hate about everything that flashes into their mind, the feeling of having glimpses of his past but unable to peice them together correctly, or at all. It seems as though whenever they even might come close to solving the enigma that happens to be his past, someone puts up a wall to keep him from getting anywhere farther. Every moment they try to gain even a peek of what they had been through, gives them migranes or siezure, and depending on the time they spend trying to gain any sense of identiy, Kris can be unable to move for days.

In reality, Kris is supposed to be dead. He knows that their body should not exist on a phsyical plane, but it does. When they actually opened their eyes, it was in Addermire. Twelve years old in Addermire in whatever they had qualified to become a nurses' office of sorts. He doesn't remember enrolling here, or any of Syracuse at all. But he knows his house mates as if he was wired with them in the beginning. Some days, they'll wake up with extreme amneisa, others he can wake up with glimpses of his past, but nothing is clear.

Even so, Kris still knows how to shapeshift. It's like a second nature, and you will often find them in the form of dark colored birds. The mirganes do not occur as often while in these forms, and while they do use up most of his power, they end up falling alseep right after, numbing the pain anyways. Ever since the tremors, Kris' migranes had worsened, ending up with them lashing out in pain and sometimes just dropping to the floor without a sound besides the 'thump' of their body. Though instead of memories of their past, a mysterious man continuously appears in each one, lingering in the back of his mind.

Dangerous is what these have become. Being susceptible to these at anytime make it extremely difficult for Kris to actually get anything done. While usually he will simply end up being unable to move for and hour or half of that, the vision that he had been getting neither from his past, but rather someone elses, and sometimes they knock him out for days. All Kris really wants is lift the burdens off of them, after all he really is a twelve years old boy.

▻Born and raised in Portermount to Ceto Orpheus and Ragnar Orpheus. Ceto and Ragnar are a high noble family in Portermount. The Orpheus family have been apart of the realms history since it's making. The Orpheus Naga line were the first of the Shade alignment to cross from one realm into the next permanently. Cethin was not born to see the destruction brought upon the mundane realm that caused the creation of his home, but his family often speaks of the old days when the mundane bowed before their kind. Even as many Naga are aligned under Neutral they still face a darkness inside of themselves that leaves them unable to be truly placed on either side. The serpent people are like the Dragons and find that caring for themselves over the sides that are taken is the better path to avoid conflict.
Cethin was destined from birth to be a Spark and a Naga as every member of his family has ensured the purity of their line only venturing to mate with Dragons over their own kind. Cethin was brought up in a biased home and was raised to think as a Naga and not as a member of any faction, but his own kinds. Even Dragons who are held as mightiest do not hold themselves at such a high standard as the impowered Naga.
Their kind has always found a way to survive without intermingling their blood ties to their own kind. Some have ventured from the path of purity and supremacy, by mating with the mundane mortals and giving rise to halfbreeds, as the Naga would call a mundane born Spark. ▻ trustworthiness? that's definitely not a word in kanya's vocabulary. she'll swear not to tell a soul something, and in the next second even her third cousin knows it! she's a big time gossip, who thrives off of the tiniest secrets. you want information on a student? ask her, somehow she knows everything. of course that's an overstatement, but she does know bits and pieces of what's going on. kanya doesn't fully understand it, so she keeps her mouth shut. she has been known to eavesdrop on people, teachers especially. this gets her into trouble, but is it worth it? hell yeah. kanya is rather feisty, often snapping at students and teachers alike. there isn't much reason for this, but she comes off as defensive in most situations. she is very loud, to the point where you can hear her across the school hallways. if you manage to befriend her, be sure not to pour your heart and soul out to her on the first day, and watch out for her abilities. kanya has her own agenda, and she doesn't mind using other people to fulfill it.

▾ ⋮ history: kanya's mother was a sparked siren, and her father was mundane. the two were very attracted to each other. whether it was because her mother was a siren or not is unknown. her childhood wasn't very fulfilling, as her mother was often out of the house and her father left when she was born. kanya was often watched over by nannies, neighbors, etc. which unsurprisingly made her crave attention from her birth mother. while she was close to the people watching her, she'd cause trouble for them. even if it wasn't positive attention, negative attention was just fine. when kanya learned that causing trouble would be enough to get her mother to even speak to her, she continued to act out. this resulted in several nannies quitting, and kanya spending her days alone. eventually when she was old enough, her mother sent her to addermire. great parenting, right?

AT FIRST glance, one would assume that Elias might be just right in his influence and not so great in house. And then he opens his mouth and you think that maybe it wasn't so wrong. Eli has always been a bit of a whiner, and being a pampered only child hasn't helped it in the slightest. He tends to go about is day listing off complaints to anyone regardless of if they pay attention or not. And sure, he was raised with the practical values of angels, but...some of them don't exactly stick all the time.

Elias, probably most like his mother, has a tendency to be passive aggressive. It's almost an art form he has down, all thanks to family. Angels aren't all accepting creatures with open minds. He had a mother that weighed righteous deeds against injustices and a father that enacted punishments as directed. It's a wonder he isn't outright damning other students at this point rather than making them feel as ashamed as possible of their actions.

The little angel spent much of his life exposed to sin and coming to an understanding of what not to do. Telling the truth in all circumstances is just one thing he adapted to his own life — and to the lives of others. Telling him your secrets is a choice not wisely made, and most definitely not recommended if you have a few things worthy of disciplinary action. His fellows might not be so pleased with it, but his mother would at least be proud.

Elias doesn't know the joy of having a sibling, or the disaster it is. His parents thought he was enough and so he was given much of everything he could ask for in a chic Parisienne apartment. He, however, grew to be a bit more entitled than some would like. But such is the life of a being created by a higher power with a purpose greater than all others. That doesn't sound so terribly contemptuous, does it?

He didn't - and doesn't - think so. If anything, his parents had instilled in him the idea that all others ought to be honored for a creature like him to be in their presence. And he'd be a little crazy if he didn't think the same thing. But being placed in house void?
