Marie (lisaduchessg) | 250 comments I haven't read this book yet but i read the summary and was very intrigued by it but lost the book mark before I could get it. It was about a girl being sent to prison cant remember if it said she was guilty or not but the prison was a female open grounds prison with harsh conditions, gangs and a cruel warden. She started finding notes from someone in the male prison next door either in the fence or the wall and something bad was happening in the outside world. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it. I came across this late 2017 on Amazon

Marie, what's the time period and location - realistic Earth, country, region, future dystopia, fantasy world, etc.?

Marie (lisaduchessg) | 250 comments no its not shatter me but thank you for your response. I don't remember much it was just the synopsis i read on amazon but i think it hinted at zombies in the end I was browsing The forest of hands and teeth and it
was one of the recommended books. But it should be about a open prison where the prisoners kind of govern themselves and i believe that the cover may look a bit like the dessert or i may be getting it crossed with something else.

Marie (lisaduchessg) | 250 comments Update I think there was a second book and it sounded like a post apocalyptic book. Maybe zombies I was looking at a forest of hands and teeth at the time.

Laura Dewease (ldewease) | 6 comments Is the book called Incarceron by Catherine Fisher? It is about a prison that is self sustaining. It sounds similar to what you described.

Marie (lisaduchessg) | 250 comments No that is not it. Incarceron is a good book but not the one I am looking for

Johanne *the biblionaut* | 56 comments Two long shots, neither fit your description completely, but have a look at: 'The walls around us' by Nova Ren Suma & 'The Darkest Minds' series by Alexandra Bracken.

Can you describe exactly where the notes are found? What do they say? Does she leave notes / messages in return? Is she the only one who sees them? (Spoilers are okay in the comments - just give us a clear warning before revealing a spoiler.)
