David sat with the rest of the team hopefuls. He saw Joey Greyson, his main competition and also his best friend. "Whatever happens, we'll still be friends right?" Joey nodded. "Of course we will." David grinned and started talking to him about the way the pro quidditch season was going.

Lily nodded to her brother, the captain. He winked and stood up. "Hey, listen up!!" he said, with no luck. He tried a few times with no luck. Lily stood beside him and yelled "SHUT IT!!!!" which got everyone to do just that. "Thanks sis." James said though clenched teeth. Lily smirked. "Today you all are going to try out for the Gryffindor Quiditch team. The spots open are Two chasers and a beater. We wish you all good luck, and at the games begin!!" he said. He whispered to his sister," I always wanted to say that!!". "I know, I know." She said, patting him on the shoulder. "Now," she said, getting her broom and kicking off, "LETS PLAY SOME QUIDITCH!!!!!!" she yelled, flying off to the goal posts.

David grinned and kicked off. Time to show his skills. He got the quaffle and quickly went at the goalposts. Ducking his head to avoid a bludger, he passed to Joey who quickly scored.

Lily was watching the game from her side of the pitch. Joey had just scored from David's pass. She silently cheered him on. She wanted so badly for him to be on the team with her.

David slapped him a high five and went back to play defense. As the guy with the quaffle got hit with the bludger, David stole the ball away from him and threw a curve at the posts. He'd improved it a lot, and it was almost impossible to detect it until it had already went through the hoop. The other keeper was fooled and David grinned happily.

Lily smiled as David scored. 'Thats twenty good points for Gryffindor, all caused by your man, Lily, how can he not make it on the team?' she thought. Bored, she did a loop the loop and fixed her hair.

Lily's heart and stomach did a somersault when James showed her the results. Joey and David had been the new chasers!!!!!!! She acknowledged the group at the end of the free flying period. "I am please to say that the chasers for Gryffindor Quiditch team are........... Joey ((?)) and David Longbottom!!!!!!!!!!!! The beater is......... Bailey Abbot!!!!!!!" she exclaimed.

David grinned and high fived Joey. He had done it. He was part of the team. He thanked the others who congratulated him.

Lily grabbed her broom and just started flying by herself for no reason. She tried to to all kinds of things, some she epicly failed, just because she was so happy.

David walked in and put on his normal robes. He was very ecstatic about his selection to be on the team.

After maybe half an hour of just flying, Lily decided to go in and change. She was hyper the rest of the day and refused to eat. She was too distracted, and she didn't listen in any of her classes that day. Which was fine, considering she would ask the teacher next day about the lesson.

David still did well in his classes that day, but not so well in care of magical creatures. Joey and he were talking about the team when the fire salamanders they were handling spit some fire and caught them both. They had to go to the nurse.

Lily heard from her friends that David and Joey were in the hospital wing. She hurried up there as soon as she began her first free period. Once she got there, she ran to David's bed and asked "Are you going to be able to play Quiditch tomorrow?" she said, holding his hand

David nodded. "Just got burnt. We can leave in an hour. Just waiting for the potion to finish its work." He smiled at her. "I finally did it lily. I made the team."

Lily walked back to Gryffindor commonroom and prepared a letter. She walked up to the owlery and told Pigwigeon the second to deliver it. He hooted and flew off.

After an hour, David and Joey were released from the hospital wing. They walked back towards the tower and when they got in, their friends jokingly clapped for them. David laughed and bowed. "That lads, is how one gets out of class."

Lily pulled out her book and sat down by the fire to study. When David and Joey returned, she smiled as everyone clapped. "Great job, fire boy." She said.
