So far, I honestly don't know what I am feeling. Everything is so mysterious and foggy, in a good way. I constantly feel a sense of wonder as I read each new page. It's a book that I can read and be filled with awe, but then put down and leave the world and be back in the real world. Which seems like it should be a bad thing, but to me it feels like I get to travel between worlds, so it's cool, if that makes sense...
As for favorite characters, so far, Celia is my favorite. I always root for the neglected characters for some reason, and Marco has Isobel, so he isn't totally neglected. (BTW, I ALSO thought that Celia and Isobel were the same person!)
I also really like Bailey. When the author wrote that he felt it unfair for female protagonists to always get whisked away, it really made me think.
I can't say that I am 100% loving the story so far, but I can say this: MAGICAL!!!!

I really love her, but I also love Isobel, she seems like a nice character.I kind of feel bad for her, I don't think that Marco will be truly in love with her till the end...

I never really thought Isabel and Celia were the same person, I thought maybe so at the very first initial meet, when she was holding Marcos notebook, but not there-after.
I'm kinda confused as to why they faked Prosperos death? Unless it's just cause he's not meaning to become invisible (is this supposed to be spoiler free?! Please let me know if so!)?
Also, wondering who the girl is, that Bailey met inside the circus, is it Isabel? Or Celia? Or someone else...does it even matter?

I can't wait to see how all the separate stories will tie in together and why Celia's dad is turning invisible. Love this book so far!

Yeah I love those bits! I like how it sort of makes the reader a character in the story. It makes me interested to see if "I'm" meant to affect the story at all, or if "I'm" just walking through the tents and taking it all in.

I think the group has reached a general consensus that the finger cutting was messed up. So was breaking the pigeons neck to prove a point (which reminded me of what happened to Jace in City of Bones, but I think his case was more cruel).
I especially liked the audition scene and how Marco realised how woefully under prepared he was. Did "Alexander" fail to adequately prepare Marco or is the nature of the challenge such that he is actually prepared. There is to much unknown to say for sure.

I might be the only one, but I feel like this book has a similar vibe like in The Shadow of the Wind. Of course they are different books, but I sorta get the same feeling when I read The Shadow of the Wind, which is my all time favorite book and which captivated me the same way like The Night Circus is doing now.
So I'm really excited to read more, to know more what is going to happen :)

I still have sneaking suspicion that Celia is Isobel. Even after reading about the audition, because in that scene we see Celia changing her hair color. Is it really so far fetched to think that she can change more than her color?

stay back isobel stay back *hiss* lol. I have a hunch about the girl who Bailey met was.. *cant wait*
I feel bad for celia.. I like her the best so far. Weird how her dad is vanishing.. I wonder...

It didn't bother me though, because I enjoyed the writing style so much, but now that she has created the world, I would love to see much more happening + characterdevelopment in the next parts! Oh, talking about the characterdevelopment: She described the decor beautifully. But am I the only one who doesn't feel for Marco & Celia (yet?) I have no idea what kind of personalities they have, how they feel, what they think... I hope we will learn more about them in the other parts!

And BTW I really want that clock o.O

Ehhh luckyyy I went to Half Price Books yesterday and couldn't find The Night Circus :( So I'm using a library book. And I'm curious about Isobel too.

I love this books so far. The writing is done so beautifully. I think one of the reasons I love this book so much is because I love the circus and now wish that there was a circus like this I could go to at night time.
I am glad I am finally getting to this book I have had this on my shelves now since the beginning of the year I picked up my copy at a good will for like 89 cents or something like that. Its the paperback edition and its in perfect condition. So glad I picked this up.
I love how the book shifts from POV's and time it makes it more interesting and mysterious I think. I also like how descriptive it is when explaining the circus. I wish I was there to see everything.

Above all, I am loving the second person narrative at the circus, I really feel like I am there and it has such a magical feel to it. I can't wait to see how the rest of the book plays out.
