OddModicum Rachel (oddmodicumrachel) | 117 comments Glad it tickled you. I was thinking that might be a fun cheap, unique holiday gift for my UK buddies.... would be rather simple to have them printed and bound rather historically accurately.

8-20 Rachel, that's why I frequent this posting site. I love readers who are intelligent and probably better read than I am. --Chris Malburg

This is one good movie.

Feliks (dzerzhinsky) Are we now making a list of obscure, cult horror movies? or is that another thread?

OddModicum Rachel (oddmodicumrachel) | 117 comments Might be thinking of another thread, Feliks. It's been like 2+ weeks since anyone has mentioned films in this thread, other than Michael just saying he enjoyed Angel Heart earlier today. I've been meaning to ask you... The uniform you're wearing in your profile pic - is that just general Steampunk garb, or is it a particular historical military uniform?

Glad you loved 'Angel Heart', Michael! I couldn't remember the name of it for ages, but now that someone here reminded me, I'm due to watch it again, I think. De Niro as Lucifer with a backdrop of voodoo and hexcraft... so good. ;) I just found out the film 'Angel Heart' is based on a horror/noir mystery novel. Can't wait to read that one!

'Angel Heart' film is based on Falling Angel by William Hjortsberg

Feliks (dzerzhinsky) eh?? You're not seriously saying you haven't made the connection between the name 'Feliks Dzerzhinsky' and ...the infamous, loathed, hated, despised, Cheka uniform? The Cheka, of which my namesake was the one-time, much-feared head. An organization responsible for sending 100,000s of thousands of people to certain death. You don't suppose I 'made up' my username, I hope? Hmmm..well, I suppose its possible. Were you raised in Oceania, perhaps?

Anyway, I'd certainly like to rattle off my fave list of horror flicks sometime whenever that topic arises I hope someone lets me know. I'm not into 'campy' or 'B-horror'...I like low-budget horror which is still serious=minded.

OddModicum Rachel (oddmodicumrachel) | 117 comments You never have to ask me twice to chat about horror films. ;) One of my alltime fave things in the universe. Used to work for the guy who made the original Friday the 13th movie, as well as Last House on the Left (the original.. not the recent remake. Talk about 70's campy horror!). Camp is all well and good, but I enjoy the more serious fare, as well. I'd love your list, whenever you're up to it. I'm rather a fan of good Asian horror, myself. I'm not sure what they do differently, but it tends to really wig me out. Visuals, perhaps?

And I'm definitely showing my ignorance here, but I've literally never heard of your namesake! lol (sheepish!) Promise I'll bing him as soon as I emerge from my Photoshop coma. Been at it for hours, and my eyeballs are ready to es'plode.

OddModicum Rachel (oddmodicumrachel) | 117 comments Feliks - Ok, so you're THAT guy. lol As soon as I saw photos of Dzerzhinsky I knew who he was. Not by name, just the 'Red Terror' guy. Amazing I didn't make the connection sooner, cause that costume is dead on. Well done, you. And here I figured you actually had a rather prominent moustache. What a horror he was! Funny, cause I got a bit of the wiggins from the uniform in your profile pic, and just couldn't place it or why it made me uncomfortable... now I know I was rightfully skeeved out. ;)
