Anyone have any assigned summer reading/homework? I don’t (thank the stars, gosh), but I gotta start prepping for the August SAT.
Lol, this feels like a conversation now even more than a game. I do have summer hw, it's so long and it also includes a lot of traveling locally too, along with stuff to read and annotate.
Haha yes, I do have summer assignments, some math program, and 80 vocab words to define, along with labeling maps and a story to read/annotate.

Thanks for all the info! When did you take the classes? I'm going to be taking both my freshman year.

I got lucky and I don’t have any summer assignments. Ian going to a different high school than the rest of my friends (because I moved at the end of 8th grade) and they all go horrible summer assignments for AP Human. Meanwhile, I have nothing 😂

I'm taking 5 APs this year + one ACP math class, and either 5 or 6 APs next year, depending on if my sanity is still present by the end of junior year 😂. Have fun during freshman year!
I don't have any summer homework/reading but I'm a bit of an over-achiever when it comes to school, so I'm doing PSAT & SAT prep at the moment, plus AP prep for next year.

It’s not terrible, not at all. It also depends on what kind of person you’re going to be in high school; we don’t really have a cliqué problem at our school, but you’ve obviously got the “super smart valedictorians”, the “sports are life” kids, and the “popular” kids.I kinda fall into the category of “stays up all night to do homework and cries about grades constantly” category, so I would say high school is really stressful, but it’s obviously different for everyone. Some of my friends manage to breeze through with amazing grades and a top-notch social life, surprisingly. My main tip would just be to work hard and do your best; don’t slack off, or it’ll bite you in the rear end.
And honestly if you are concerned about the people stuff, there aren't really the clique groups and everyone is pretty accept. Like, your friend group usually just falls into place itself is you stay out of drama (or at least it did for me).
I just joined this group, and if anyone needs help with math, and depending on what you are do, I might be able to help you. In case you need help with summer homework or getting prepared for next year's math class.
Cool thanks! I can also probably offer my assistance with school stuff. I actually enjoy school so...
That's actually a great idea you guys! I could add a folder for homework help and then we could just have different discussion where you could get help in different subjects!
How would you guys feel about me adding this?

I finished pre-calc/trig and I’m going into calculus, if you’ve got any tips for that then much obliged because I’ll be going in blind!
I can't give you any advice about calc but I am doing pretty calc next year and I am scared b/c of the teacher
Pre-Calc is just Algebra 2 but slightly more in-depth and advanced — lots of it is just review, so if you had a good A2 foundation you’ll be okay.
Oh, I'm doing Accelerated Algebra 2 freshman this year, and in my sophomore year I should be doing Accelerated Geometry and Trigonometry. My junior year I would be doing Accelerated Math Analysis, and then ending off with AP Calculus in my senior year. Does this seem normal?? I mean it did depend on what our score was in our math placement test, because the other classes you could get end senior year with something different. I somehow got the 2nd highest class lol
Tofu, I don't know if I can help on Calc. I'm doing trig right now. Nicolette, if you have any questions about algebra 2, I can answer them.

Well, I’m not sure about anyone else, but math “path” is this: Freshman year I took Algebra 2 Honors
Sophomore year I took Pre-AP (Honors) Pre-Calculus (first semester) and Pre-AP (Honors) Trigonometry (second semester)
Junior year (this coming school year) I’m taking ACP Calculus (which is essentially AP but slightly easier, still weighted on 5.0 scale), and I’m switching over to AP Statistics for my math choice in senior year.
I took Geometry Honors in 8th grade, but they changed the system a couple years ago so I was right at the cut off for taking Algebra 1, Geometry and then Algebra 2; now it goes Algebra 1, Algebra 2 and then Geometry. So if you’re taking Geometry/Algebra 2 in high school, that’s actually really good, especially during freshman/sophomore year.
@tofu Ok, then I should be good. I just wasn't sure, because as you have said with AP classes, your school doesn't allow freshmen to take them, such as with World History, since my school does offer it to freshmen. I was wondering if math was very different like that too, but it doesn't seem so.@R Thanks, I'll probably be coming with a few questions :)

Oh wow, your school offers a lot of courses. In my district, if you aren't in accelerated, you can only go up to pre-calc. If you are in accelerated than you can take AB or BC calc in 12th grade and that's the highest.
It’s kind of funny that what was once a completely pointless game has turned into a big conversation 😂
