Firstly, forgive me because I write so much that I don't have as much time to read as I would like. I finally downloaded a copy of Divergent last night and managed to get through the first 7 chapters. After this series had so much success I was expecting something...a little more I guess.
I went to the store. I bought a loaf of bread. I went home. I made a sandwich.
To me it reads very flat - like the paragraph above. I keep waiting for it to change; for that monumental moment where it becomes a masterpiece but it hasn't happened yet. It seems like a decent story so far but if that is all it has to offer without sweeping me away and into their world I'm not sure I will be able to finish it.
