Wendy Piersall (wendypiersall) | 16 comments Hello, I am about to publish an adult coloring book with Ulysses Press called Coloring Animal Mandalas. The book used to be listed on Goodreads until I either tried to claim the author profile or list a new giveaway - and then the book disappeared from the site. I tried adding it back, and got the error message that the "ISBN has been marked as 'not a book'."

Since there are several other coloring books listed on Goodreads (see https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...), I don't understand why I can't also add my book? Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

Banjomike | 5530 comments The librarian manual says

"These items are not books:" ...
"coloring books (except those for reference or which tell a story)"

The Amazon page for the book is here:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Coloring-Anim...

It looks to be a book of rather smart B&W line drawings but not much in the way of story/text.

Your only option is probably to contact Customer Support. Un-NABing is something that only staff can do.

Wendy Piersall (wendypiersall) | 16 comments Hmmm... thank you Banjomike. I see your point. I do see quite a few books like mine (https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...), but I'm not sure that contacting them to ask them to bend the rules for me is a compelling enough argument.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what will increase my chances of them treating my new book like they have treated the others in my example?

Deon (deonva) | 3386 comments I am unaware of any special methods to increase chances, but just because it in the database doesn't mean it has been made an exception, it could have simply been overlooked.
