I’ve read several on the list and don’t plan on rereading but am glad to chime in on a discussion. I just read The Curious Incident and recommend it!

I should note that that goes for me too. I just reread the Haddon book too, and I've read quite a few others on this list, so I can talk about the ones I've read, whether I read or not.
Curious Incident is an excellent book - even down to the endnotes.

Even if Curious Incident isn't selected, we should open a bonus read thread for it. You two could start the discussion and we'll catch up later.

Hi Elizabeth, we're only reading books on the Great American Read list now. After the PBS show is over, we'll expand a bit.

Sirens of Titan = 8 votes + 5 #1-votes = 13 points
Each book had many unique voters so I'm calling this a tie. You can choose to read one or both.
---------------------
Nominate a Short Book that you would like to read in August (I can set up the threads as early as July 15 if there are enough people who want it). If we have enough readers for any book, I'll open a bonus book discussion thread.
Here are the shortest books on the list. (If anything looks wrong, please let me know,or post a correction.)
Copy and paste the list, and keep any book that you want to read this summer. Clearly identify your top choice(s). I'll assign 1 point to each book, plus an extra point (or fractions) for your top choice(s) .
