9. How would you rate this book, and were there any particular insights you gained that were particularly meaningful.

Pam | 218 comments This was not a page turner for me, it was a cute story, I would give the book 2-3 stars. Too mundane for me, but his character development was top notch! Loved the characters in this story.

M.E. Hembroff (mhembroff) | 93 comments I give it a rating between 4-5. I found that I had to keep turning the page to see how the story was progressing. This is the second time I have read the book and thoroughly enjoyed it. Of course being of Irish descent I always like reading books about Ireland. I enjoyed the author style and have read several other books he wrote.

I gave this book a 5. When I read it about 4-5 years ago, it touched me very much. Taylor is a very good writer. I've read about nine of his books and loved them all. They touched me in a very tender way.

Cindy | 522 comments I gave it 4 stars. I thought it was quite funny (always a plus for me!) and a good, quick read.
If you like'd this, I'd recommend Lillian Beckwith's series that starts with "The Hills is Lonely". In the 1950s (? I think that's about the date) a middle-aged single English woman goes to live in a small, isolated Scottish village. Similar tone and style.

Chelsea | 562 comments I gave it a 3. It was a fine story, I just felt there was a lot of language for my taste.

Barb (deckerbunch) | 227 comments I gave it four stars. I enjoyed it. My husband listened to it with me as we traveled. He said he would give it four stars as well.
