Hailey relaxed with him for a second, looking over when the door was unlocked and opened.

"Oh, time for breakfast," Riggs said, flying down and landing, shutting his wings. He looked at Hailey and motioned for her to come."Hailey c'mon."

Hailey looked at him and nodded, smiling at Nick softly."Try and get some more rest, okay? I'll be back soon."

Nick frowned. He let her go, frowning slightly. “Be safe..” he mumbled, stepping back. The tension was back in his shoulders, making it obvious that he didn’t want her to go. He couldn’t stop her though.

Kai and Jess followed Riggs down to the ground, closing their wings. They waited for Hailey before leaving.

"I will," Hailey replied, kissing his cheek softly when he stood up. She moved over with the other 3, heading out with them.

Riggs waited for Hailey, going over to walk by her when she came out. His hand went out and hovered slightly over her lower back, something he had started being use to doing. He sent a look over to Nick as they left, just a slight glare before the door shut behind them and they were going to get breakfast.

Nick watched Hailey head out, glaring back at Riggs when he put his hand on her lower back. He couldn’t hurt him without getting in trouble but that didn’t mean he didn’t want to. He sat back on Hailey’s cot.

About 10 minutes after they went to breakfast, the door opened again. Dr. Wu stepped in with a tray of food and looked around, stopping Nick. She smiled gently at him, but not did move further into the room yet."I brought you breakfast."

Nick had kept his eyes on the door, waiting for Hailey to return. He frowned when the doctor came in instead. “No thanks. I’m not hungry.” He replied quietly. The bruises on his knuckles and a bit of one in his throat were a lot more pronounced than they were yesterday but he wasn’t taking anything from them if he could avoid it.

Dr. Wu looked at his appearance, it was the first thing she had done when she came in and it made her frown. They looked even worse than she thought they were going to. She could only imagine what his chest looked and felt like."You might not be, but I think you should still eat at least a little bit. Get something in you." She paused for a moment."Not for my sake or the rest of the scientists, but for Hailey. She's worried about you."

“Yeah well. She wouldn’t have to worry about me if you hadn’t taken her from her family.” Nick snapped back lowly. He shook his head and refused to touch the food.

"Nick I know how you must feel, I heard from Hailey and others that I work with that the group of you were not treated well where you were before. Now, I wasn't there, but I do want to apologize for that. They never should have done the things that they did to you," Dr Wu said, setting the plate of food down for the moment, but she stayed close to the door. She didn't want him to feel like she was intruding into his space too much.

Nick rolled his eyes. “Yeah right. You guys are all the same, no matter what bullshit you try and preach..” he muttered lowly. “We’ve been through multiple facilities and they all treat us like shit. Hell. You guys won’t even give Hailey reasonable looking clothes.”

Dr. Wu raised an eyebrow at Nick's last words, those confusing her. She thought Hailey looked rather nice in them, there wasn't anything wrong with them she thought, it was just what Dr. Lee told her Hailey liked...She was going to respond when the door opened again and Dr. Lee stepped in with his assistant.

Dr. Lee found Nick's eyes right away and smiled that fake smile he always had plastered on his face."Nick. Nice to see you again. How are you feeling?"

Nick glared at the lack of response. “She hates dresses. Absolutely despises them.” He mumbled. He glared a bit harder at Dr. Lee, not bothering to reply to him. He stood up and backed away from them.

Dr. Wu was very confused by that bit of information and made a mental note to ask Hailey when she saw her next.

"No need to be afraid Nick, I came in here to help you," Dr. Lee said, looking at Dr. Wu,"Amanda here says that you didn't let her give you an x-ray yesterday. I'm sure you're in a lot of pain. How about you come with me so we can get that sorted out and make you feel better, okay?"

“Yeah you’re full of shit.”‘nick said lowly. “I don’t need an X-ray or anything from any of you.” He added, watching them warily. “I feel just fine.” Nick opened his wings and shook them out.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you Nick," Dr. Lee said, raising his hand a little bit,"I don't want to have to use force with you like I did Hailey, but I will if I have to." His assistant adjusted the way she was standing a bit, keeping a close eye on Nick.

"Nick please, you can't get out of this," Dr. Wu said, shaking his head,"Honey we just want to make sure you're okay."

“I’m fine. Stay the hell away from me.” Nick said lowly. He watched the assistant for a moment before taking off to get away from them. He flew into the trees before trying to use his abilities to disappear.

Dr. Lee sighed heavily and looked over at his assistant, giving a nod in her direction. She watched as Nick flew up, loosing him for a second. She concentrated though and was able to use her own abilities to find him a moment after that. Just like with Hailey, she was able to grab his body with an invisible force and yank him down Unlike with Hailey though, she was not gentle about it, just letting him crash hard into the ground.

Nick cursed as he fell to the ground. Hs squirmed and tried to fight against their abilities to get free. “You are all batshit fucking crazy! Let me go!” He snapped, not caring about who overheard. He partially hoped Hailey would hear and would be able to come back.

"We can't do that Nick, I'm sorry. We're trying to help you, really we are," Dr. Lee said, reaching into his pocket and taking out a syringe. He started walking slowly over to Nick."I'm sorry it has to be this way, truly I am. We're just going to help you feel better." He got over to him and stick the syringe into his arm, injecting him with a medicine that would help him fall asleep quickly.

Nick kept shouting and cursing at them. He tried but he couldn’t get on his feet to fight them as they injected him with the syringe. He kept struggling but the drugs were stronger than him and knocked him out pretty quickly.

Dr. Wu watched this happen and she sighed heavily, going over to Nick one he was out to check on him.

"Gather him up Amanda. We need to get his ribs checked out," Dr. Lee said, smiling at her.

"Yes sir," Dr. Wu replied, taking Nick gently in her arms and lifting him up. She had abilities of her own, she just didn't like to show them much. But she was given the ability to be able to lift very heavy objects, hence why she was able to get Nick and his heavy wings off of the ground heavy and start down the hallway with him to get his ribs looked at.

Nick was out cold and he didn’t struggle. His wings were still partially open from how he’d fallen, making him harder to carry but it wasn’t too impossible.

"I think he finally just cracked and let them take him. You know, maybe he was in a lot of pain, they came to give him some food and he said okay," Riggs said, looking over at Hailey,"Nothing to stress about I think." They were hanging out near the trees, there was a small pond over there and Riggs was showing her his abilities.

"Maybe...it just doesn't seem like Nick," Hailey replied with a sigh, smiling a bit as Riggs made the water lift up and go through around her hand, coming onto the other side,"That feels nice."

"Doesn't it? It feels really good if you do it on your feet, like if they're sore," Riggs said, moving the water again but this time keeping it around Hailey's hand and trailing a very thin line up her arm.

"That tickles," Hailey said with a laugh, making Riggs laugh and look up at her. From looking at him, it really was pretty easy to see from his expression that he liked Hailey.

Nick was brought back in awake. His hands were bound and he certainly looked pissed though exhausted too. Despite being with the scientists for hours, he didn’t really look like he felt any better. Besides his hands being bound, there was a thick band around his neck, designed like a shock collar for a dog but a lot stronger and harder to break.

His eyes darted around the birdcage until he saw Hailey and Riggs. That was enough to make him snap. “Get away from her.” He told Riggs lowly, tensing up.

The scientists that brought him back removed the binds from his wrists when they got him in there before exiting the Birdcage.

Both Riggs and Hailey looked up when Nick came back, Hailey getting up right away to go over and check on Nick to see if he was alright.

Riggs sighed as Hailey moved, looking back at Nick and glaring back."Hey, no trouble. We're talking. It's something that people do you know." He twirled around some water in the palm of his hand as he sat there, on top of that glare, giving Nick an almost smug look. Like he thought he was better than him or something.

Nick shook out his arms before opening his wings a bit. “I don’t give a shit. You stay the hell away from her or I’m gonna Kill you.” He threatened, obviously in a sour mood. Nick looked Hailey over and that seemed to calm him slightly.

He wasn't looking for a fight exactly, but he would give it to him if that's what he wanted.

"Um guys?" Hailey said, looking in between the two of them,"Testosterone level is like, through the roof right now. Can we please bring it back down to a normal level?" She moved closer to Nick and put a gentle hand on his arm, giving him a once over and seeing what she could see. What the hell was on his neck?!

Nick shot a glare at Riggs. “Stay the hell away from her.” He repeatedly lowly, his voice cold. He stayed tensed up and watched Hailey for a moment, not even settling down at her touch. “Some of the same doctors from the school we came from are here Hailey.” He cautioned lowly.

Hailey moved so that she was in between Nick and Riggs, shooting a look over at Riggs. Whatever look she gave him, he just shrugged and opened up his wings, going to hang out on a branch. Looking back at Nick, she nodded."Yeah I know, Dr. Lee is here. He's the only one I've seen that was from the School we were at. Why? Did you see more?"

Nick shifted and leaned down to her so he could talk quieter. “Just them right now. But they’re going based on notes from the other school. I think they’re gonna want to do similar stuff. They’ve brainwashed these three but they’re just as fucked up here.” He mumbled, scratching a bit at his neck. He couldnt even move the thick collar at all.

Hailey sighed, looking at the collar that he had on his neck."What the fuck is that? And what did they do to you?" She lifted up her shirt so she could see, seeing his chest all wrapped up and she could smell whatever ointment was on there. Did they do some kinda surgery on him? Was his rib really messed up?

“Shock collar I think. They demonstrated it earlier. I’m really not a fan but I guess they’re lazy with wanting my cooperation.” He mumbled as he messed with the collar to try and figure out how to possibly get it off.

“I dunno exactly. They did a lot. They messed with my ribs. Maybe my shoulder or wings too. It’s kinda fuzzy. They came in. Offered food. I refused. Then dr lee came in. They had someone with abilities. I tried to fly and they slammed me down on the ground. Then they drugged me.” He summarized, speaking up a bit so the others could hear what happened.

Hailey listened to his explanation, nodding her head."I remember a lady that did the same to me, walks around with Dr. Lee. She yanked me out of the tree like it was nothing."

"That's Miss. Lawson, Dr. Lee's assistant," Riggs said from his spot in the tree, looking down at the both of them,"He keeps her around to deal with people who don't wanna listen."

"So controlling people is what she does?" Hailey asked him, looking up at him.

"Not exactly. She doesn't control your body per say, like she can't make you move just your arm or leg against your will," Riggs replied, thinking best of how to describe it,"More like she controls the space directly around you, almost like a force field wraps around your body and she controls that force field. So she can move you around and pull and push you."

Nick glanced at Riggs. “And you all just choose to tolerate that? Don’t you see how fucked up that is?” He questioned before glancing at Kai and Jess. He looked back to Hailey. “Her powers are like yours it seems.” He mumbled faintly. He kept examining the collar with his hands to try and figure it out.

Nick flipped him off before focusing back on Hailey. “Keep watch for me for a bit so I can lay down?” He asked faintly, exhausted. He didn’t want to sleep when they really needed to get out of there but they’d kept him somewhat awake for the stuff they’d done and it was sore. “Then we gotta get out of here...@

Hailey watched Nick do this and sent him a pointed look, then sent another one at Riggs when she noticed him opening his mouth to say something. What the hell was up with these two?! She rubbed her forehead and nodded."Go lie down and get some sleep. I'll be up."

Nick nodded. He leaned down and pressed a gentle kiss to the corner of Hailey’s lips. “Love you.” He mumbled before heading to his cot. He laid on his stomach with his wings stretched out over the edges of the cot like his own blanket.

Nick settled down pretty quick though he didn’t go to sleep right away. He simply tried to relax and start thinking of how to possibly get them out.

A month and a half. That's how long Hailey had been in here. It was crazy really, she really had thought she was going to be getting out a lot quicker. But no, this place was crazy protected. The areas that they let her go into were very sealed up and had so many people there at all times. And, without an insider like Chasity to help this time around, it was very tough. And that's not the only thing that was keeping her down. Hailey had been feeling very odd the past 3 weeks, just not herself. Feeling sick a lot, woozy, her body feeling strange. She wasn't sure how to describe it other than strange. And then, last week, is when it really started getting worse. She started vomiting pretty much every single day and was horribly nauseous the rest of the day so she couldn't really do much.

And that's where she was now, lying down on her cot in a fetal position, trying to keep anything that was in her stomach, in her stomach. She cleared her throat and rubbed it a bit, opening her eyes slowly."Jess? Can you bring me a ginger ale?" Dr. Wu had also given her some medicine to help the nausea, but that was kinda a hit or miss. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. Right now was one of those it wasn't days.

Nick spent most of his time right by Hailey. He’d worked on trying to find them a way out but the shock collar kept him pretty limited. He wasn’t let out of the birdcage with the others or anything so he couldn’t even gain much intel. When Hailey started getting sick, nick moved his cot closer and spent any time he could with her trying to help. He kept her hair back when she got sick and held her when she wanted and everything else.

Nick sat on the bed behind her, rubbing her back gently. Since she’d started vomiting more and acting strange, he had some suspicions about what might’ve happened but he didn’t want to voice it. If it turned out to be true, he wasn’t sure he’d be able to stop himself from trying to kill every single scientist there.

Jess nodded. “Yeah of course.” She’d been helping Hailey when she could too, slowly getting nick to warm up to her to tolerate her at least. She brought over a ginger ale and some crackers.

"Thank you," Hailey replied, her voice a little bit horse from all of the throwing up she had been doing the past little while. She was really glad Nick was there though, he had been staying with her every single day since she started getting sick. She raised her head slightly when the ginger ale was brought over, ignoring the crackers right now. Not a good idea. She took it in her hand and gave it a sip, going to let that settle a bit before drinking more.

"Want me to go get Dr. Wu? Have her try out some more medicine, since that one isn't working?" Riggs asked from his spot. He also was worried about Hailey, not able to actually comfort her like he would like to, cause her damn boyfriend was around her 24/7. But he was there.

"No that's okay. Thanks though Riggs," Hailey replied, closing her eyes and trying to keep on relaxing.

Nick kissed the side of her head gently. He couldn’t keep letting her suffer like this though he didn’t know if she’d figured out what was likely happening. “Love, i think they might’ve done the experiment they talked about last time they captured us together.” He mumbled faintly in her ear.

Jess set the crackers down close by. She went over to sit by Riggs.
