"Yeah, I mean...," Hailey thought for a second and sighed,"Nick really doesn't trust people, like, even worse then me. It makes total sense though, given how we were raised. I'm kinda use to it, you know? I had to guard them a lot from the scientists when we were younger."

Jess nodded. “That’s fair. But whatever you were used to, you know it’s not that way here. Dr Wu was just trying to help him, same as she helped you.” She commented gently. Nick kept a close eye on Hailey, worried about her but he couldn’t really handle it all at the moment. He sat down on the branch and curled his wings over his shoulders.

"Yeah I know that," Hailey replied with a nod, believing that like, 90% of the way. There was still that 10% of her that refused to let go that all scientists were bad and mean."I dunno, maybe he'll get a little more use to it the more she's around and he can see she's not gonna do any harm."
Jess shrugged. “Hopefully so. Cause just like they did with you, I imagine they want to check him over.” She commented quietly. Nick felt a slight bit safer being perched up in the tree. He looked around quietly to start planning a way out for them.

Jess nodded. “Goodnight Hailey.” She smiled gently at her before going back to her own cot and laying down. Nick kept watch, leaving them all alone.

Hailey watched as Jess went back to her own cot, lying down afterwards. She covered up, bringing the covers to her chest and closed her eyes. She was out pretty soon after that, quite sleepy.
Nick didn’t sleep despite his exhaustion. He stayed perched in the tree for a while before coming down and heading close to the door to examine it. He had no clue what would be the best way out but he had to start planning.

Everyone was sleeping peacefully for many hours of the night, Hailey waking up at about 3:30 in the morning though. She opened her eyes and turned around, though realized when she did her stomach was hurting. Furrowing her eyebrows, she moved her hand to her tummy and slowly sat up, sighing a bit and yawning.
Nick was still awake. He couldn’t sit still and was pacing around the birdcage. He saw Hailey sit up and came over to her. “You alright?” He asked gently, running a hand through his hair. He glanced to the other cots to make sure the others were still out.

Hailey looked at Nick when he came over, nodding her head."Yeah I'm alright. My stomach just hurts a little bit." She just shrugged, not thinking much of it. Just a few hours ago had been kinda exciting and a little stressful so that's probably what was going on, just the nerves making her tummy act up. The others were still out like a light, Riggs snoring softly.
Nick frowned but nodded, sitting on the edge of her bed. “Alright. Anything I can do?” He offered, gently taking one of her hands. “Besides get us out of here obviously.” He added in a faint mumble.

"Nah I don't think so," Hailey replied, chuckling softly at his words,"I might go try and drink some water." She yawned again, covering up her mouth with her hand. She was still really tired, her sleep schedule really was starting to come together so if she was up before normal, she felt it. She was gonna have to fix that once she got out of here.
Nick nodded. “Okay.” He released her hand so she could get some water if she wanted to. “Do you have any sort of plan yet for getting out of here? I want to get us home..” he mumbled faintly.

Hailey didn't get to go get it quite yet, staying sitting down with Nick. She thought about it for a second."Not too much, no. I looked around the Birdcage and, honestly, there isn't much here. And I don't know what too much of the rest looks like, they only let us go to the few rooms around here. Tomorrow I'm gonna be able to actually go and eat with them though in, I guess, the cafeteria? I might be able to spot something in there."
Nick nodded. “Okay. Please be careful love. Try and find anything you can. I’ll be able to use my abilities to get us out most likely. I just don’t have any clues about the best way or the layout of this place.” He murmured softly. He absently messed with the hem of his shirt, unable to sit still at al.

Nick frowned. “Okay. I don’t trust that one though.” He nodded to Riggs. “He’s brainwashed practically. Plus, he keeps checking you out.” Nick mumbled, a hint of jealousy in his voice. He glanced back to Hailey. “But if you think they can be swayed and won’t betray us then we can..” he assured.

"The dresses are all they gave me to wear, trust me I asked for different clothes, they said they would get me some." I just don't think this place is as bad as the School we grew up in is all."

The one you got taken from had ones like us in cages, in dog crates like they forced us into. That’s multiple facilities treating their experiments horribly. Or you should meet Mason. Kid is probably our age and taller than me but maybe weighs as much as Zar. He was tortured by some of these doctors..” he rambled on and on, feeing like he had to convince her to want to leave.

I'm just trying to say that not all of the doctors might be mean or evil is all. Most probably for sure, but not all. That doctor you met earlier, Dr. Wu, she's nice."
“She’s just one of them. The majority still probably want to kill us if they can. Or torture us as much as possible. She’s not the only doctor here. I don’t need her or anyone touching me. Or you if I can help it. We just need out.” He mumbled, scratching a bit at his arm. “I practically lost you once. I can’t do that again Hailey. And I can’t just sit around in here either.”

Just...try not to attack anyone if you can help it, I want us all in the same room, not separated."
Nick shook his head. “I don’t want them separating us.” He mumbled faintly though he was pretty sure he couldn’t stop it. “Things got pretty bad when they had us both and would take us separately.” He reminded her, remembering what they wanted to do. “I’m not gonna attack anyone but I can’t really help what they cause.”

Last thing I want is to wake up with you gone or with them taking me from you or something.” Nick mumbled, sounding a bit like he was just a little kid rather than his normal self. Nick watched her, shaking his head. “I’ll be fine love. Just want to get out of here soon before any of the others get caught too.” He told her softly, watching her. “I don’t want to sleep anyways.”

"Nick, lay your ass down before I make you," Hailey said, getting up from her spot on her cot. She pointed to the bed for him to lay down, giving him that stern mama look. He needed to sleep or else he was gonna loose his mind.
Nick watched her for a moment, knowing better than to fight her too much when she was in her mama bear mode. “Stay close. Okay? I gotta keep you safe.” He murmured before relenting and laying down. He curled up a bit on his side, leaving her room on the small cot in case she wanted to sit or lay with him.

He smiled faintly at the kiss. Nick relaxed into a sound sleep pretty quickly, his hand still lightly resting on her shoulder. He didn’t stir for a couple hours aside from the occasional mumbling.

Hailey had only moved once and that was to use the bathroom and get changed. She was wearing a different dress today, of course, a simple pastel pink strapless one. She was sitting on the edge of her cot currently, looking at Nick when he woke up and smiling softly at him."Good morning sleepy head."
Nick looked her over worriedly, making sure she was okay. It weirded him out still to see her in a dress but he didn’t say anything about the matter. “Morning.” He mumbled faintly. A lot of the bruises from yesterday had darkened a bit and though he wouldn’t admit it, he was feeling a bit worse and more sore today for sure. Jess and Kai were up and ready for the day, flying around a bit until it was time for breakfast.
