I'm really not hungry," Hailey replied, craning her neck to try and look at the stitches,"They said there was a bone that was growing in weird, they needed to take it out and fix it so it was growing in normally. It's just odd, I've never noticed any pain when I was flying with it. Then again, I haven't used my wings in a bit."

Jess nodded. “Huh. That’s kinda weird. You’d think If it was a problem, you’d have felt some pain with it or something.” She commented quietly.

"That's what I thought. They said it was only minor so that might be why," Hailey replied, sniffling a bit and glancing around. She thought for a second before she perked up, remembering. Oh hell, she was a fucking idiot!"Where are my pants?" She looked around her cot, remembering that she had put them somewhere over there when she changed.

“They’re in that second drawer I believe.” She said, nodding to the table by her cot. She hadn’t messed with them but the doctors usually cleaned up when they went to get food.

Hailey quickly turned and opened up the drawer, finding her jeans and reaching into the back pocket of it. Holly shit, her phone was still there! She tried turning it on, which it did, but it was only at 5% battery."Fuck." There was no way she would be able to make a call with it almost dead like that. For all she knew, this place wouldn't even let calls go through.

Jess tilted her head. “What’s that for?” She didn’t expect her to have a phone or to be using it or anything. She’d only seen the doctors use the phones.

"This...man that helped us gave one to me and another member for my Flock so we could communicate. I was hoping I would be able to call her on it so she could somehow figure out where I am, but it's almost dead," Hailey said with a shake of her head. She decided to just turn it off for now, hiding it under the mattress of her cot. If she happened to gain access to that room Jess had mentioned where they had free time, maybe she'd get lucky and there would be a charger in there.

Jess nodded. “You should keep that hidden. They haven’t captured your flock yet.” She mumbled faintly, feeling there was no harm in Hailey knowing that. She stayed close by.

“It’s okay. I figured you shouldn’t wake up all alone.” Jess admitted quietly. “Riggs woke up when they brought you in but went right back to sleep. Kai could sleep through a bomb though.”

Hailey chuckled a bit and nodded."Sounds like one of my Flock members. He's such a heavy sleeper." She was thinking of Hunt as she said this, since when his sleeping schedule was normal, he slept like a damn rock. Thinking of Hunt just lead her to start thinking about the rest of them, Nick especially, and she sighed heavily. She did miss him....a lot.

“Will you tell me about your flock?” She asked curiously, wanting to know more about who Hailey had escaped with and how they’d survived..

Hailey looked at her when she asked this, hesitant to give away too much information to her. She still didn't know who these people were....but Jess seemed pretty nice. As long as she just told Jess what the School already know."There's 8 of us; me, Hunt, Zar, Victor, Nick, Faye, Ace and Cass."

Jess nodded slightly. “That’s a pretty big flock. It must have been nice to have so many people to count on and be with.” She commented with a soft smile. “How old are they? All our age?”

"Yeah, it is really nice," Hailey replied, getting up and taking a seat back down on her cot,"Sort of, you would be Nick's age, he's 17. I'm a year younger them him. Then all our years go down pretty much one by one until you get to our youngest Cass, she's 10."

Jess nodded slightly. “Hmm. And you all were from California?” She asked curiously. She stayed sitting near Hailey so she wouldn’t be alone.

"Um...I'm not sure. Some of us were, but some of us weren't. I know Hunt felt like he was born elsewhere and my little one Victor was born in New York I think," Hailey replied, nodding a little bit as she remembered that.

Jess nodded. “Makes sense. They seem to like to keep us separate.” She mumbled. “I don’t even know how many different experiments there are.” She added quietly.

"I don't either. There's so many facilities all over the place, it's hard to have an exact number on anything," Hailey said with a sigh, looking up at the sky. It was pretty in here though, she had to admit that. The Birdcages were always her favorite part of any of the Schools that she had been in.

Jess nodded. “You should probably take it easy for a bit. Get some rest..” she suggested gently to her. She stayed sitting near her though.

Hailey looked at her and nodded, shifting so she was laying back on the cot on her side. She didn't think she would be able to go to sleep so easily, but soon after she laid down she was fast asleep.

Jess stayed close for a few before heading over to her own cot. She laid down and fell asleep pretty quickly.

Pregnancy symptoms typically take like 5 or 6 weeks to start showing though, so she would need to be there for about a month and a half before they start planning an escape together...so we could do her maybe a week into it, them letting her go out with the rest of them and realizing it isn't as scary as she thought? And did you want to have Riggs almost be like a romantic interest to Hailey to create some tension between him and Nick once they get outta there? Or nah? *thinking face* ))

"So you're actually able to, like, move water around?" Hailey questioned, looking over at Riggs. The two of them were up in the trees hanging out while the other two went to their experiment for the day. It had been a week since she got here and, honestly, it hasn't been that bad.

"Yeah well, I can't like pull it out of the air or nothing like that. I have to actually have water in front of me to do it," Riggs replied, putting his hands down on Hailey's legs. It was just how they were sitting, Hailey leaning against the branch with her legs draped in Riggs' lap. Not her doing, he had come up and sat with her like that.

"That's pretty impressive, I haven't heard of that before...," Hailey said, thinking,"Can Kai and Jess do anything?"

"Yep. Jess can turn invisible, both herself and other things, and she can control electricity. Like, be able to feel the electrical currents in the wall and short circuit them. I'm not sure...if she can pull that electricity out though," he replied, thinking for a second before continuing,"And Kai can control fire. Again, has to actually have it in front of him, he can't just produce random fire."

"That would be impressive though," Hailey said with a small chuckle.

Jess and Kai had been taken by the scientists for some tests but they came back together. Jess glanced around and noticed Riggs and Hailey hanging out close to one another. “They’re doing pretty well together. She seems pretty comfortable. Should we grab them for free time?” She offered.

Kai nodded. “Probably. You wanna go up there?”

Jess shrugged. “Why go up when you can do this?” She suggested. “Riggs, Hailey! We can head in for free time, wanna come?!” She hollered.

Riggs looked down when he heard Jess call up to them, looking over at Hailey."Dr. Wu said that you can come with us today. Do you wanna?"

Hailey thought about it for a moment before she nodded."Yeah. Might as well figure out what the rest of this place looks like." She moved her legs off of Riggs' lap and floated down to the ground.

Riggs was right behind her, his hand instinctively and protectively going to her back until they were down there and he looked at his two friends."How was testing?"

Jess noticed the close contact between them but didn’t question it. She smiled gently at them. “Alright, come on.” She headed back to the door and waited for them to buzz them in so they could head to the game room.

Kai shrugged. “It was alright. Nothing super interesting.” He commented quietly.

"Alright, pretty standard stuff. That's good," Riggs replied with a nod, walking through the door once they let them out and he started down the hallway.

Hailey was expecting some people to be there to lead them. But no, they were just freely walking down the hallway. Of course, there were cameras, but nothing else."They just let you walk around?"

Jess nodded. “Typically yeah. So the end of the hallway, we can’t get out cause it’s locked but there’s the game room and some other stuff in here that we can usually get to..” she explained.

Kai followed after them all.

"Oh okay, that makes sense," Hailey replied with a nod. Would be a little weird if they just let them wander around where ever the hell they wanted. They made it to the game room after a second and Hailey was kinda shocked. It had a lot of stuff in there; a huge t.v with a video game console, a pool table, a few bookshelves in there and some board games stacked up in the corner.

Jess glanced to Hailey. “Here’s everything. There’s some movies and video games and stuff too. There’s snacks and stuff too.” She explained with a gentle smile.

“They trust us enough to let us relax a bit. Plus we’ve all been here for years.” Kai clarified, turning on the tv. “Want to watch a movie?”

Jess grabbed some snacks, glancing at Riggs and Hailey.

Hailey looked at Kai when he said that, shrugging her shoulders."Sure, why not." She went and sat down on the couch, fixing her dress a bit. Yeah, she was still wearing them. It's all that they had given her still besides her nightclothes, they had taken her jeans at some point when they had taken her for testing.

Riggs followed and sat down next to her, moving his arm across the back of the couch."Jess, can you grab me a coke?"

Kai nodded. He offered her the remote so she could pick the movie.

Jess nodded. “Yeah. Hailey, want any snacks or a soda or something?” She offered, already knowing what Kai typically wanted. She brought kai and Riggs their drinks.
