Mason got up there fine and started flying with the others, certainly not a quick flier, but he didn't get a chance to fly around too much given his lifestyle. Thankfully Chasity stayed pretty much right next to him just in case he happened to fall or become unbalanced. It would be harder to get to Washington flying so slow, but since he and Nick had already touched, maybe Nick wouldn't mind carrying him some of the way there.

Nick flew quick for a bit. He didn’t shoot too far ahead but he could also only go so slow without feeling like he was unsteady. Nick thought about offering to carry mason but thought he’d let him keep going on his own first rather than immediately offering.

As they flew, Mason got a little bit more use to it and picked up speed little by little. Not nearly as fast as Nick liked to fly, but he was still learning.

"Nick do you wanna try and fly a decent amount of the way there? Or maybe try to make it to Ethan's cabin so we can rest for a day or two before heading to Washington?" Chasity called out to the guy.

Nick noticed Mason pick up some speed and picked up a bit more speed to match. He glanced back to Chastity. "We can take him to Ethan's but I don't want to hang out there for a few days instead of catching up with the others. Cass and them would be pretty upset if I did that."

"Okay well, we need to keep him with us. So what do you wanna do if not take him to Ethan's? Maybe that cave we stayed at before when you guys found me?" Chasity suggested, trying to throw out ideas cause there was no way they were gonna be able to make it to Washington in one go. Mason wasn't in good shape, not that the guy was complaining or anything, but he had to be in pain.

Nick shrugged. "Wherever you think best Chastity. We can find a cave or an abandoned cabin or wherever to stop." He told her quietly. He was doubting his own choices more and more lately, feeling like he had to listen to everyone else instead.

"Well," Chasity scoffed, shaking her head,"that's why I'm asking you what you wanna do. If you wanna go with a cave, we'll do that, if you want me to bring him to Ethan's house and stay there with him while you go to Washington, we can do that too. Just tell me what you want."

“I don’t know anymore chastity. At this point, I’ve got zero clue. If you want to stay at Ethan’s with him, that’s fine. I’ll be able to make it to Washington just fine.” He replied quietly.

Chasity sighed and rubbed her forehead, shaking her head a bit. What in the hell kinda emotional trip was this guy on? She supposed this is what happened when he was away from Hailey for too long, he seemed like he was freaking cracking..."We'll go for another hour or so before stopping, or until Mason gets too tried. Then we'll just find a spot. Okay?"

Mason looked at her and shrugged, not really caring, he didn't even quite know what was going on. He was just glad to be away from the doctors.

Nick nodded. He didn’t say anything more, focusing instead on his flying and the land around them. He wasn’t trying to be snippy or anything, his brain just constantly was going a million directions and he couldn’t keep up. It didn’t help that he was missing his flock either.

"I think it's suppose to be right down here. See? The Institution for Higher Learning," Hailey said, pointing to the rest of them where the building was. It was the closest thing that they were able to find around here that was even close to what might match the Institute.

"But for higher learning? Where the hell do they come up with this stuff?" Hunt said, having to hold back a groan.

Ace shrugged. “Inside a box obviously. And it makes it sound just like it’s some fancy college. That’s probably why.” He replied as he looked over the building.

Faye flew near the back with Jayden, having noticed he’d gotten more nervous. She tried to talk to him and keep him calm as they got closer.

"I guess so. It's kinda away from everything else in Washington too, which isn't normal," Hailey said, trying to look around the area. It looked like a normal enough building, but she knew that wasn't the case. Looking back at Faye and Jayden, she frowned."Faye, you and him can stay outside. I don't wanna make him go in there in he's uncomfortable. Me and the guys can handle this."

Jayden shook his head. “I’m okay. Isn’t it better to have all the people you can get?” He reminded her quietly, not wanting to end up weighing them down.

Faye frowned slightly. She didn’t want to stay behind but knew that Jayden couldn’t fight that well yet.

"Yeah, but I don't want you to go in there in you're afraid. It's okay to be afraid and just sit this one out," Hailey said, not holding it against him for still being nervous. He had only gotten out less than a month ago after all.

Jayden took a breath and shook his head. “Nope. I’m good. I can do this.” He assured them.

Faye glanced to Hailey. “If anything happens, I’ll protect him and get him out.” She promised. “But he’s right that having more of us will give us a better shot.”

"Okay. Alright, if you're sure. Let's get down there then," Hailey said, moving closer down to the building. She wasn't exactly sure what to do in a situation like this, just walk in the front door? Demand entrance to their secret rooms?

"Maybe there's like a door on the outside or something we can open? Like a vent?" Hunt suggested, also not liking the idea of going in through the front.

Ace flew down a bit lower. “Vent would probably be better. They’ll grab us if we just walk in the front door..” he agreed quietly, scanning the building for any place that looked good for an entrance.

"Yeah very good point," Hailey said, also scanning around and going to the other side of the building,"Wait, over here. I think that's something." It looked like a small sewer vent that drained water out the back of the building and through what looked like a little stream, probably to a bigger thing of water. But it was their best chance of getting in.

Ace nodded. He flew over to check it out. “That should work. Only issue might be if it is just a drainage pipe and doesn’t lead to an internal room. But it’s worth a shot.” He said quietly, carefully ducking a bit closer.

"Good lead to start with," Hailey said, flying down to look at it better.It was certainly one of those really thick ones, not easy to break. But maybe she could....She flew so she was in front of it and extended her arms out, trying to bend the metal using her powers. It took her a moment but she did manage to opened it up enough so they would be able to slip through.

Hut whistled when she did this."Damn girl. Getting better at those powers." He closed his wings then and landed on the ground, waling closer to the vent.

Ace followed after Hailey, ducking inside the vent. “Watch your head Hunt.” He cautioned quietly, having to duck a little bit.

Faye landed after Jayden did, bringing up the rear so she could watch their backs.

"Watch your own head," Hunt replied to Ace, listening to him though and ducking down so he would be able to get in there. It was dark in here, that's for sure. Thankfully they had pretty decent night vision.

Hailey walked ahead of them through the large pipe, looking around for anything that was a clue of where to get into the section they needed to go.

Ace didn’t reply, staying near Hailey as they crept through the tunnel.

Faye loosely took Jayden’s hand, feeling better knowing he was close and she could protect him. She looked around carefully, hating the confined space.

It took a little bit of walking, but finally Hailey was able to see something that was promising. Another vent that was inside of this one, but it was something. She quickly used her powers to force the bars open and poked her head in."This looks very promising. It's kinda a tight squeeze though. Let me go first and I'll help everyone through." She managed to get up there with a bit of help from her levitating powers, holding her hand out to help Ace through next as well as everyone else one at a time.

Ace frowned slightly. He quickly took her hand and pulled himself up. Once he was with her, he stepped back and kept watch around them.

Faye and Jayden followed after them all.

Everyone got up through the vent and the room that they got in was full of computers. It was kinda a typical School type research room that the doctors used most of the time.

"Huh, interesting," Hunt said as he walked slowly around the room, seeing some clipboards hung up next to a separate door in the room and he glanced at them."Looks like they're doing experiments here too."

Ace went to one of the computers that had stuff by it, waking it up and smiling when it wasn’t password protected. “Think I could delete everything?” He commented quietly to the others. “What sort of experiments are here?”

"Do it," Hunt said with a bit of humor in his voice. He quickly scanned some of the clipboards that were there, reading what was on them."Looks like a lot of different ones." He reached his hand to the wall and accidentally touched a button, turning on the light in the other room that was there. Looking over, his eyes widened by what he saw. Dozens of crates with different people in them, different experiments locked up in them and ranging from all ages and sizes.

"Whoa," Hailey whispered, moving closer to the door so she could look through the glass window that was on it. That was crazy...

Ace quickly started looking around the computer, trying to find some data that he could destroy. It was worth doing whatever he could to hurt the institute.

Jayden tensed up when the light went on. “Come on. We’ve gotta get in there. Please. Let’s get them out.” He said quickly.

"Ace, make sure you print anything important out you find before you delete it," Hailey said, backing up a little bit from the door. She put her hand on the part that had the lock and worked on trying to destroy it from the inside. That was a little tricky, since she couldn't see it, but she got it after a moment and opened the door, stepping into the large room.

Hunt followed after her, looking around. There had to be at least 3 dozen crates here, maybe more of people in cages and all different kinds. Some had wings, some had scales, some were larger, some were smaller. Some even looked like perfectly normal people.

Ace nodded. He quickly went through a lot of the computer, printing out files and lots of data before deleting stuff of the computers.

As soon as she’d gotten the door open, Jayden slipped past Hailey and went to the cages. He spoke gently to them, healing what wounds he could see through the bars. “Help me get all the locks? We can get them out.”

Hunt looked at all of the experiments that were in there then at Hailey, question in his eyes. What were they gonna do with all of them? Could they really get them all out of here unnoticed?

Hailey knew exactly what Hunt was trying to tell her, and she understood, but she was gonna try. She started and went over to two crates stacked on top of one another, touching the locks to break them.

"Who are you? What's going on?" one of the girls that was near Jayden asked. She was also a girl with wings, though she had much more feathers than the rest of the Flock. It was on her cheeks a bit and patches of feathers on her arms, legs and tummy.

Ace kept watch as he kept going on the computers and deleting stuff. He didn’t know how any alarms hadn’t gone off yet about what they were doing.

Jayden glanced to her. “we’re helping you guys get out of here. That okay?” He questioned softly.

The girl nodded at his words and looked around, seeing the other kids getting out of the crates as Hailey was opening them all up, Hunt was trying to sooth them. Hailey had managed to get about halfway through the crates when the doors busted open and some scientists and Erasers entered the room.

"Don't move a muscle," someone behind Ace said, the clock of a gun able to be heard right next to his ear. Same for Faye, a doctor was behind her as well pointed a gun at her.

Jayden cursed when people busted in the room, getting up to try and protect the experiments that were still caged.

Faye had been helping ace go through everything. She tensed and stilled when she heard the gun click.
Ace froze for a moment, taking a breath.

Hailey looked when the doctors and some Erasers came through the door, cursing. The experiments that had gotten out all went and cowered in the corner, Hunt slowly moving over to stand in front of them.

"Hailey. Why am I not surprised that your little Flock is the one that broke in?" one of the scientists asked. Hailey recognized him, he was one of the lead scientists that had been in charge of them when they were younger. Lee she believed his name was.

"What can I say? I just don't like sickos like you running free and doing all this messed up shit to poor kids like these," she said, motioning towards the experiments.

"Hailey I really thought you would've grown up by now and realize that this is much, much bigger than you are sweetheart. There are only, what, 5 of you in the Flock now? You can't possibly take on all of us," Lee said, shaking his head in disappointment.

"Maybe not. But we'll never know until we try, right?" Hailey said, trying to quickly think of a way outta this.

Jayden followed Hunt so they could try and protect the experiments. He glanced into the other room and frowned at the guns pressed to Ace’s and Faye’s head. He kept his mouth shut and tried to think of a way out.

"How about instead, dear, you just come with us. we'll leave your little Flock alone here and just take you as a sort of bargaining chip, yes?" Lee said, a smug look on his face. Hailey just wanted to punch him.

"Yeah that sounds like a great idea. Me listening to your word to not hurt my Flock that you can turn around and change your mind whenever you want. And what're you gonna do with me? Rape and torture me? Hmmm? Use me to fight against my Flock?" Hailey said, venom deep in her voice, shaking her head,"I will never go willingly with you, you sack of shit."

Lee sighed when she told him that, shaking his head."I wish your answer would be different than that Hailey, I really do." She looked into the room Ace and Faye were in and nodded at the two scientists.

They nodded back and went to move their finger to pull the triggers when they were suddenly stopped, unable to move.

Chasity suddenly was there in the room, breathing heavily as she tried to catch her breath."Just....made...it." She had heard everything that was going on down here with her thoughts so she had made Nick and Mason hustle their butts to get here in time.

Faye saw the nod and shut her eyes tightly, preparing for a shot that never came.

Nick slipped in behind chastity, going to the scientists and snatching the guns from their hands. He glanced to mason. “Can you freeze the scientists in there?” He asked, willing to give him a chance.
