Nick shrugged. "Eh, not really. It's obviously not public information for most of their stuff, so I'm just trying to find what I can that will hopefully help us to take them down a bit easier." He explained, glancing at Hunt.

Hunt went back into the living room and nodded, looking over at him."Maybe ask Chasity or Jayden? They might know more about it, since they were on the inside and what not." He uncapped one of the bottles and downed nearly half of it, closing it back afterwards.

Nick nodded slightly. "Yeah, I've talked a bit with Chastity, which pretty much backfired. But I'll probably try and see if Jayden has any other information that might be useful." He agreed. He offered him the notebook of all the notes he'd taken on what they knew.

Hunt furrowed his eyebrows when he mentioned Chasity, taking the notebook when it was offered to him though."How did talking to Chasity backfire? She flip out on you or something?" He looked down at his notes as he said this, skimming through.

"No. Just caused tension with Hailey, I think. I dunno.. It just got all messy." He mumbled, glancing back to the laptop after a moment. "So I'm just staying in here and trying to sort out what I can to get us safe for good."

Hunt thought about that for a second before he understood and nodded his head. So Hailey got jealous huh? Never thought he would see the day that she acted like a legit girl."I'm sure you guys will be fine." He read over the notes before handing putting it back down on the table in front of Nick.

Nick shrugged slightly. "Hopefully. We've got enough problems without stupid drama like that getting in the middle." He agreed softly. "There's more important stuff to take care of." He added, grabbing the notebook and setting it back by him so he could keep working.

"I dunno if I'd call it stupid man," Hunt said, shrugging his shoulders and sticking his hands in his back pockets,"You two are together now, something like this was bound to happen eventually."

Nick shrugged. "Relationships seem so messy." He commented quietly, focusing back on the laptop. "It seems stupid though. We both have a lot to handle without dealing with us being together too." He added.

"Well their not exactly easy. But you get two people together that are willing to work through whatever they need to and it can be a pretty nice thing," Hunt said with a shrug of his shoulders,"Human emotions are really complex. We think things that we never intend to, but that doesn't make them any less real or important."

Nick glanced over at Hunt. "You phrased that very well, and seem to understand a lot better for sure." He commented quietly. "We work well together, it's just weird when there's that extra part of it plus the fact that we've still got a lot to do."

Hunt shrugged his shoulders at the comment, scratching the back of his head, nodding his head at his last words."Right I get it, you and Hailey are the dream team after all. You guys will get through anything, I know it." He sighed after that and moved to leave the room and get back outside.

Nick nodded. "Thanks Hunt." He replied faintly before focusing back on the computer.

Ace looked up when Hunt came back out. "You good?" He asked softly, tilting his head.

Hunt got back out and handed one of the bottles to Ace, sitting back down next to him."Yeah I'm cool. Just talked to Nick for a sec." He took a drink out of his own bottle quickly.

Ace nodded and took the bottle from him. "Well, you guys weren't shouting so that's progress." He commented softly. He drank a bit of water, settling down close to Hunt.

"Yeah, for once it seems. I hope things calm down between us soon, I don't wanna cause tension for everyone around us. Both of us have been acting off recently so we both just need to chill," Hunt replied, wrapping his free arm around Ace's waist.

Ace nodded slightly, snuggling closer. "Yeah, agreed. But you're back to normal at least, he's the one that's off and acting kinda weird." He told him before glancing at the others.

Hunt nodded his head, noticing that though he assumed everyone did. Hailey probably talked to him about it at some point."Everything will be okay and back to normal in no time probably. We just gotta be patient."

Nick had been keeping his distance from the flock more and more. He slept more often during the day in one of the bedrooms and then would be up all night; either keeping watch, doing research, or occasionally just leaving. He’d spent almost all his time on trying to find out information about the school and the institute: looking for names, locations, other experiments that may have escaped, anything that could possibly help them.

He’d found a nearby place that was supposedly just a hunting cabin but looking at it on maps and stuff, it seemed a bit more like a lab. And the owner was a company he was pretty sure was connected to the school. So he decided one night that he’d go check it out. He didn’t mention it to Hailey or any of them, wanting them to be safe and out of it in case he got attention from the wrong people.

Nick came back in from where he was at on the roof once everyone had gone to bed. He grabbed the bag he’d packed just in case and snuck back out, taking off pretty quickly.

Most everyone else was asleep, but not Hunt. No, his nights were still messed up because of what had happened when he was with Chasity, he just wasn't able to shut his brain off and sleep for a couple hours after lying down. So he was able to hear Nick walking around. Furrowing his eyebrows, he slipped out of bed, careful not to wake Ace, and went to the living room. He saw the door close through the kitchen right as Nick was leaving and he went over, seeing him taking off. Where in the hell was he going this time? Frowning, he opened up his own wings and went after him.

Ace mumbled quietly for a moment when Hunt got up, stretching his arms out for him before just hugging the pillow close instead and going right back to sleep.

Nick shook his wings out before taking off and flying high up above the house. He looked around for a moment, orienting himself before starting to fly towards the cabin.

Hunt flew behind him for a while, curious as to where he was going. However after a moment he decided that didn't matter, he shouldn't be going off like this. He managed to match his speed after a second, not exactly being quiet or anything so Nick would know he was there."Where the hell are you going?"

Nick kept a careful watch around him but hunt stayed far back enough that he didn’t notice. He tensed and turned as soon as he heard him coming though. “I’m just going to fly around for a bit. What are you doing?” He questioned back simply.

"Following you, duh. Bro it's super late, I don't think you should really be going anywhere right now. Does Hailey even know that you left?" Hunt asked him, flying on his side slightly so he could look at him a little bit better.

Nick raised an eyebrow at Hunt. "I don't need a shadow. I'm just flying around a bit. I'm not even that far from the cabin." He reasoned calmly, looking over at him. "Hailey's sleeping. No need for me to wake her up for no reason."

"Um Nick, no offense bro but you know damn well that if Hailey tried to do what you're doing you'd be pissed right?" Hunt asked with a raise of his eyebrows, working hard at flapping his wings so he could keep up with Nick's speed,"I know this isn't the first time you've gone out at night anyways, you've been going out every night for the past, what, 4 or 5 days now."

Nick shrugged. He noticed Hunt struggling to keep up and barely smirked, flying a bit faster. "There's a lot less going on at night. It's a better time to go out and fly around." he reasoned simply. "It's not like I'm going far. Usually just around this general area to keep watch."

Hunt frowned when Nick started going faster, falling a little behind before catching up a moment later. Man why did he have to fly so fast?! He was messing around him him, Hunt just knew it..."Nick just come back to the house. You're kinda needed there. You know, you being the leader and all? Not exactly a good idea for you to go off willy nilly whenever you feel like it."

Nick rolled his eyes. "Hailey's the leader, you and I both know that. And I'm not going off all willy nilly. I've got plans and other stuff to be done besides sitting around and being like a kid." He retorted, looking away from Hunt as he kept flying. "I've kept you all safe, that's the only priority."

"She says that you are," Hunt said with a frown, sighing. Yeah he liked Hailey more than Nick, he thought that she made a better fit than Nick did, but it was a decision Hailey and Nick made a while back. Sighing, he shook his head,"I think you guys really need to have a talk with all of us, getting this whole leader shit situated cause it's really confusing."

“All my ideas go through her anyways. She’s in charge now. There, That what you wanted to hear?” Nick retorted simply. He didn’t want to deal with Hunt. They still didn’t see eye to eye and nicks focus was elsewhere. The flock was safe so his priority was taking down the school now.

"Okay maybe I heard it, but the others didn't. Man I'm not," Hunt sighed and rubbed his forehead a bit before continuing,"I'm not trying to get into a fight with you, you and Hailey are just confusing the hell outta the rest of us. And you with all your talk about how you wanna protect us and whatever and you're out here away from us doing God knows what. Who the hell is on watch at the house? Cause I know damn well Hailey is asleep. Man I think the best way for you to protect us is to stick around instead of going off."

Nick shrugged. He turned so they were heading back towards the house, not wanting to fight with him either. He glared slightly. “Why don’t you keep watch then?” He suggested lowly. “I’m trying to protect the flock and that means handling the school..”

Hunt watched as he made a turn suddenly and started back instead, taking a second to adjust his course and catch up with Nick again. He scoffed at his words."How the hell would I have known to? You didn't wake nobody up when you went to wander off. And I know you wanna bring the School down, all of us do man. But that is not a one person job, all of us need to do that together. So we need all of us safe in order to do that, yeah? Which means you staying around."

“You guys are safe!” He snapped. “I’ve been flying around to keep watch every night.” He countered, glaring at him. “You all are focused on yourselves and being kids. That’s how it should be..” he added lowly, looking away from him.
