"We could start with a couple things, you wanna go with more fighting or more self defense?" Hailey asked.

Nick smiled a bit and nodded. “Yeah. Let’s not burn the house down please.” He agreed quietly. “But you’re welcome.”


“Probably defense first..” Jayden agreed quietly. “That seems like it would make more sense. Cause if I can defend myself, that’s the best place to start.” He added softly.

Chasity chuckled and nodding, continuing to roll the dough into balls.

Hailey nodded at his words, thinking of what would be a good thing to start with."Alright, I'm gonna show you what to do if you get grabbed. So go behind me, wrap your arms around my waist and kinda hold on tight like you're actually trying to hurt me okay?" She and Nick had both taught the younger kids a bunch of stuff before.

Nick nodded. He stayed in the kitchen, reaching and stealing a chunk of cookie dough. He ate it and smiled a bit. “The cookie dough is good at least. That’s a good start.”

Jayden nodded and followed her instructions. He moved behind her and held her tight.

Chasity watched as he did that, smiling a little bit."Now if I can just not torch the hell outta them."

Hailey waited until he did this, walking through some steps with him about what he was suppose to do if he was grabbed like this."Just make sure you don't try and grab this side before get a hold of their hand cause then it's easy for them to slip outta it okay?"

“It shouldn’t be that challenging. The oven’s at the right temperature. And you can peek in often. Take them out once the edges start turning like a goldish brown color.” Nick explained. He glanced through the window to outside, frowning slightly when he saw Jayden holding onto Hailey.

Jayden nodded as he listened. “Alright. Makes sense.” He agreed softly.

Chasity nodded at his words, rolling the dough more and getting to her last one. She washed her hands quickly, glancing over at Nick when he looked out the window.

"Cool. So now I'm gonna grab you, you just so exactly what I showed you okay?" Hailey said, moving back from him and moving behind him instead.

Nick nodded to her. He brushed his hands off on his jeans and moved to head outside. He could tell that she was just training him but he still didn’t like anyone having their hands on her. He was really bothered by it but he couldn’t sort out why.

Jayden nodded. He let her grab him before trying to follow what she’d taught him to get free.

Chasity watched as he went outside, raising her eyebrows but she didn't say anything.

Hailey wrapped her arms around his waist tightly this time, letting him get himself free."Good job, just be more aggressive with it, you know? They won't let you go as easily as I did."

Nick watched quietly. He’d tensed up quite a bit as he watched the two of them together but tried to keep himself from interfering.

Jayden nodded slightly. He let her grab him again before trying to be more aggressive about getting loose.

Hailey let him do it again, actually wincing a little right right at the end when her arm was pulled the way it was meant to be."There you go, that's a lot better. You just gotta make sure you remember the moves. Of course there's more ways to get out that I can show you."

Jayden nodded, facing her for a moment. “Alright. Thank you.” He told her quietly. He frowned, noticing nick behind her and he didn’t look happy. “Uhh. Maybe more practice later?” He asked quietly

Hailey, of course, didn't notice Nick behind her. She raised her eyebrows at the response but she just shrugged."Alright. I am gonna get you some legit training before we leave the house though."

Jayden thanked her. He barely nodded his head towards nick in hopes she’d see why he was backing off. He stepped back and went over to Faye and Zar since they seemed okay with his company.

Nick hadn’t realized but he was glaring right at Jayden the entire time he was close to Hailey.

Hailey watched him as he went to sit over with the girls, wondering what changed his attitude. She shrugged and turned then, that's when he noticed Nick there. And she noticed the look on his face as well, wondering what was up with that.

Nick’s gaze followed Jayden until he noticed Hailey looking at her. The tension in his shoulders seemed to relax a bit and the glare disappeared. “What’s up?” He asked her softly, not really thinking anything was going on. He didn’t know why he felt angry at Jayden being close to her but he tried to push it down.

Hailey did notice how he seemed to relax after a moment, though she wasn't sure what was up with the look he was giving him in the first place. She crossed her arms and shrugged, remembering him and Chasity in the kitchen together. It bothered her."Nothin."

“You sure?” He asked softly, biting his lip. Nick seemed to calm down a bit now that Jayden wasn’t close. He walked over and gently put an arm around her.

"Yep," Hailey replied, using the tone of voice he probably knew all too well, indicating she was upset by something. She did let him wrap an arm around her though,,waiting a moment before speaking."What were you and Chasity doin?"

“Just baking cookies. She burnt the first batch so I was helping.” He mumbled softly. Nick watched her, frowning slightly.

Hailey nodded a little bit at the explanation, seeing that it was a good one, a legit one. Still, made her feel some kinda way. Chasity was pretty, very pretty in fact. Hailey didn't consider herself to be ugly or whatever, but she wouldn't call herself attractive either. Did Nick....like her, Chasity?

Nick watched her. “Come on. Either inside or on the roof? We can talk about whatever’s bothering you.” He suggested softly.

"There's....nothing bothering me," Hailey replied with a shake of her head, still with that tone of voice though. Even she knew that she was doing it however and she sighed, motioning with her head to the roof and she levitated herself up there easily.

Nick nodded. He flew up there after a minute. He landed and walked over nearer to the front of the house so they could talk in private. “What’s going on Hailey?” He asked softly.

Hailey followed him over there, shrugging her shoulders. She was silent for a good minute or so, not really wanting him to know the childish thoughts she was having."I dunno, I...." Nick rolled his eyes at her. “So I like her in what sense? That can have a lot of meanings Hailey.” He pointed out quietly. He shifted on his feet, keeping his wings open as he watched her.

Nick sighed softly. “I’m sorry.” He mumbled. He felt guilty now, realizing they’d both gotten jealous of each other. He shifted on his feet anxiously, trying to calm down.

Nick shook his head. “No it’s fine. Don’t worry about it.” He assured her softly. He watched her for a moment before looking away. He didn’t want to admit that he was jealous of Jayden being so close to her.

She sighed gently before motioning down with the others."I should get down there, keeping on helping them out." She watched as Hunt and Ace wrestled, Hunt pinning him down after a moment and she rolled her eyes. Boys....they were mostly just playing around.

Nick nodded. “Okay.” He agreed. “I’ll come down in a few.” He mumbled. He just had to push his jealousy aside and let her do as she wanted.

Ace tussled with Hunt, fighting a bit roughly until he was pinned. At that moment, ace leaned up and gave him a quick kiss before wriggling drew.

Hailey nodded, dropping down off of the roof to check on them all, seeing Faye and Zar were relaxing together.

Hunt grinned when he managed to pin him, blinking at the kiss that made him loosen his hold."Hey no fair, you distracted me!"

Nick sat down on the roof and tried to chill out. He didn’t know why he felt so bothered by something so small.


“A real fight won’t be fair.” Ace teased with a smile. He got back to his feet and looked at him.

"How so?" Hunt asked with a chuckle, though he knew darn well he was a better fighter than Ace. But Ace was better at evading things, he was more 'flexabile' he suppose was one way to put it.

"Are you guys actually practicing or just playing?" Hailey asked them as she was watching them, raising an eyebrow.

Nick stayed on the roof for a bit, laying down and watching the sky. He didn't have such issues with jealousy before but it almost felt like something had changed and now he was extra protective over Hailey.

Ace smiled and shrugged. "I dunno honestly." He answered Hailey before looking at Hunt. "Hmm, cause in a real fight, I won't be against you. And there's no sort of official fight rules saying what's fair or not. A kiss is a valid distraction." He explained, holding a hand out to help Hunt up.

Ace smiled softly and kept ahold of hunts hand after he stood up. “She’s right. She could definitely kick your ass. Probably blindfolded too.” He commented softly.

Faye glanced over and rolled her eyes. “I get fighting and all that but why not relax while we’ve got a chance?” She suggested softly.

"Okay but like...thats not fair. She practiced more than me," Hunt said with a laugh, holding onto Aces hand still as well. Of course whenever he practiced fighting, he ended up playing around. He was still one of the beat fighters the Flock had so...that counted for something.

"Don't wanna get too comfortable probably. Already in Hailey and Nicks case," Zar replied, leaning on Fayes shoulder. She glanced over when Hailey came and sat next to them, offering her a small smile which she returned.

Ace shrugged. “Fair point I guess.” He smiled and released his hand. “Do you want to spar some more or nah?” He offered quietly. He wanted the practice, not feeling as confident with fighting, especially while airborne.

Faye nodded. “I know. But I think we can just take a couple more days first. And then we’ll sort our lives out. I just really like how this feels safe and almost like what a normal life would be.” She explained softly to Zar, running her fingers over Zar’s arm gently and drawing random patterns.

Hunt thought for a second, shrugging."We can keep going. Whatcha wanna work on?" He had a good idea of Aces strengths and weaknesses, but he didn't wanna exactly point them out.

Zar nodded, smiling from the feeling of her fingers on her arm. It was nice. They hadn't really spoken about the kiss, though they had been much closer since Faye and the others came back. "It was very nice. I almost forgot how it was before they found us again. I miss our old house."

Fighting in the air?” He suggested. He knew he needed to train more but he felt more comfortable working with hunt rather than asking Nick.

Faye nodded slightly. “I do too. Maybe someday when this is all over, we’ll be able to go back there. Start over kinda but with a more normal life.”

"I can do that," Hunt replied, opening up his wings and taking off. Fighting in the air wasn't his favorite thing to do, but he could manage. So hey, this would be good training for both of them.

"That'd be nice," Zar replied with a smile, reaching over and taking one of Fayes hands. She snuggled a bit closer to her and looked over to Hailey."Hey Hailey, is your wing doing okay?"

Hailey, who was watching the guys, looked over at Zar when she asked that and raised her eyebrows."Yeah it's fine. Why?"

Ace nodded. He flew up into the air after him. He waited a minute till Hunt seemed ready before attacking him.

Faye rubbed her hand gently, staying close. She glanced between Zar and Hailey as they talked, keeping quiet. She understood Jayden’s abilities and figured Hailey would be just fine.

Hunt waited for Ace to get up with him and waited for him to make the first move. He was able to block it fairly easily, moving around him and trying to get a hold of him.

"You just haven't been using it to fly, I was a little worried," Zar replied to her, head tilted a little to the side.

"Oh that. Some things are just easier to do without using them," Hailey replied with a shrug, really getting use to not flying with them honestly.
